00:00Former PKR Secretary-General Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has downplayed Rafizi Ramli's claim that a loss by Nurul Izzah Anwar in the race for the Deputy Presidency would reflect poorly on Party President Anwar Ibrahim.
00:16Saifuddin said what had happened to Anwar in the past was the very reason the party even existed, referring to the latter's incarceration for about 11 years over charges of corruption and sodomy.
00:27Saifuddin said he does not see Nurul Izzah winning as a sign of support for Anwar, nor does he see her defeat as a rejection of him.
00:36He added that this was simply a contest between Rafizi and Nurul Izzah.
00:41Rafizi had called on PKR delegates to vote for his rival Nurul Izzah as the party's next Deputy President.
00:48He said it would look bad on the PKR President if his daughter were to lose the race for the Deputy Presidency.
00:54Rafizi, the Economy Minister, also advised Nurul Izzah supporters to exercise caution in defending her candidacy, particularly in addressing concerns and claims of nepotism.
