00:00So, Mike, the Colts owner passed away yesterday, Jim Irsay.
00:07Yeah, how about that?
00:09That was stunning news yesterday.
00:11And how about even more stunning, and I didn't realize this until, obviously,
00:15unfortunately, the news came out, 65 years old, Jim Irsay.
00:20I thought he was a little bit older than that, Scotty, but 65 for Jim.
00:25And they put out statements, the team, the president, et cetera,
00:29saying he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
00:34We obviously know he's had some demons in the past.
00:40Demons.
00:40And he lived a hard life.
00:43He went to rehab 15 times.
00:46I mean, my man partied like an absolute rock star.
00:51He had it all, DUIs, pills, you name it, booze, other narcotics.
00:59It was well-documented, right, that he had it all going, and he was a mess.
01:06And no offense, no one wants to hear it because he passed, fair enough.
01:11And I respect him, what his father did, what he did.
01:16He won a Super Bowl.
01:17I'll give him that.
01:18He spent a lot of money.
01:19But I think that he had a lot of issues, problems with boozing and pilling and going to rehab.
01:27Like, let's just face facts, right?
01:29Eventually, you know, if you're in that circle, it's going to kill you, right?
01:35Like, at some level, you do it enough, I mean, you know, these people that eat 30, 40 pills a day, they don't last.
01:42And that's just all there is to it.
01:43Now, I think nothing but the things he did well for the organization.
01:49But I got to tell you, I thought he and this Ballard guy have run that team into the ground, to be honest with you.
01:56And his father moved in the middle of the night.
02:00Everyone hated his guts.
02:02Am I wrong?
02:03Like, you can't even make this stuff up.
02:04Like, and I think that Jim's, you know, ownership window was one of consequences and problems.
02:15He had a lot of problems.
02:16And I'm sure the other owners didn't like it.
02:19And I'm sure the league didn't like it.
02:22And now everyone's, you know, because he passed, it's awful.
02:26And I understand that.
02:27There's no one wants to see somebody die.
02:29But I think that's, you know, the bottom line is, in that world, there's only, you know, what do they say, jails, institutions or death, like eventually it'll kill you.
02:40I think that guy did enough pills to, you know, kill an army.
02:43Let's face it, he admitted it.
02:46He admitted he did it.
02:47Millions of pills and booze.
02:50It's simple as that.
02:51DUIs, he got a rap sheet like the Texas.
02:54So I think it's horrible that he passed at a young age.
02:59And my guess is, and this is just a guess, like they're saying he died peacefully.
03:05And you can think whatever you want.
03:08I think that there's some people that would think something else happened.
03:13That's just a fact.
03:15He was definitely one of the more, I guess you could say, outspoken owners.
03:20He didn't mind speaking his mind at league meetings, et cetera.
03:23He partied, he played guitar and all that business.
03:25He was in bands.
03:26He was crazy.
03:27He partied like, he literally partied like he was at a rock concert his whole life.
03:32I see you in his younger days.
03:33He was like a power lifter too or something.
03:35I would see anyone in the story.
03:37He was juicing everything.
03:40He did everything.
03:41Unfortunately, 65 years old, Jim Mercey, passing away.
