00:00Well, wait, we do know that Isak del Toro will be on the podium shortly after Olaf

00:08Coy to collect another Malia Rosa, but could be some quite significant changes on GC.

00:15Yeah, especially because I think we had a brief look at it as well, and it seems like

00:23a lot of riders were caught up in the time gap because also del Toro, I use all of those,

00:28they lost position except for Carapaz probably and Derek G, probably they were the two riders

00:34that were not involved in the group.

00:37Well, let's not take our attention away from the stage winner Olaf Coy, who gets himself

00:43that very important win for Visma Elisabek and for his own career, the 23-year-old, the

00:50winner of a stage at Terreno Adriatico, that was his last victory back in March on Italian

00:54soil and he also took a stage earlier on this year, two stages in fact in the Tour of Omar,

00:58Milan.

00:59So this is win number four in 2025 for Olaf Coy, which is a good number and two of those

01:05as well at World Tour level.

01:07He was injured before the Giro d'Italia, he resumed racing only on the road of this very

01:14Giro d'Italia.

01:15Last race for it was Gent Vevegem and so was off racing for almost 40 days.

01:23So long time with no racing and I think he's finding his best legs now.

01:27And let's not forget for sprinters and Kasper Vanut I think is the perfect example.

01:32They boost themselves when they get results.

01:36And this might be the very first one of many for Olaf Coy.

01:43Four is a big number in modern sprinting.

01:46Gone are the days where you'd have one dominant sprinter who maybe win 10 or 15, 20 races a

01:51year, that sort of thing.

01:52That's not happening anymore.

01:54The top sprinters, as we've seen actually at this Giro d'Italia, they share out the victories.

01:59There's no one sprinter really who seems to be capable of dominating in the modern era.

02:05Definitely, as you said, probably Milan seems like one of the very few riders able to get a lot of

02:14victories over just one season.

02:17Although it's very often a matter of few meters and you get beaten by many riders.

02:24So it's very tight in between all the best sprinters now.

02:27The last sprinters to really do that were both Marcel Kittel and before him, of course, Mark Cavendish, who

02:33could dominate for year after year, but those days are behind us.

02:37Olaf Coy, though, at his best, is the match for anybody, including Milan, Philipsen and Merlia.

02:44Yeah, it's a very fine sprinter.

02:46It's another proof of today.

02:50So we see again, always very capable Dutch sprinters.

02:55Again, the first, we call it a proper sprint.

03:00It was a full podium of Dutch sprinters.

03:02And today, first and second, once again, as we are with the ceremony for the GC,

03:09with very smiling finally on the podium, probably found himself now to be in the right place.

06:39He should be absolutely fine in that competition because the sprinting opportunities are few and far between here and Rome.

06:46Yeah, in fact, the only two stages that will give out 50 points are going to be, I think, tomorrow, I think, is a three-star stage.

07:44He's been very, very strong in his attempt to win the King of the Mountains competition so far.

07:49He's picked exactly the right days in which to invest and he's delivered the maximum points haul.

07:58Pretty much, with the exception of the final climb yesterday.

08:06Just two category three climbs today.

08:09Total of 18 points available but none of his big rivals, not his big rivals in the classification,

08:16really featured in the breakaway with the exception of Manuel Tarozzi.

08:19But he's a long way down on the King of the Mountains, in the King of the Mountains competition.

08:24Yeah, I think till the weekend he won, nothing will happen in the key game classification.

09:17All this, though, adding to the length of the day and the mental load and the general fatigue of the race leader,

09:34especially when they have to hang around for the white jersey as well, as Isaac del Toro does.

09:38And then he has to give an interview, not just to television, which we're about to see, but also to the assembled media,

09:44hold a little press conference del Toro day after day after day.

09:48And all his teammates are already having a shower on the team bus and starting to relax while he is still at work.

09:55And that's another thing that he's going to have to get used to.
