00:00Well, wait, we do know that Isak del Toro will be on the podium shortly after Olaf
00:08Coy to collect another Malia Rosa, but could be some quite significant changes on GC.
00:15Yeah, especially because I think we had a brief look at it as well, and it seems like
00:23a lot of riders were caught up in the time gap because also del Toro, I use all of those,
00:28they lost position except for Carapaz probably and Derek G, probably they were the two riders
00:34that were not involved in the group.
00:37Well, let's not take our attention away from the stage winner Olaf Coy, who gets himself
00:43that very important win for Visma Elisabek and for his own career, the 23-year-old, the
00:50winner of a stage at Terreno Adriatico, that was his last victory back in March on Italian
00:54soil and he also took a stage earlier on this year, two stages in fact in the Tour of Omar,
00:58Milan.
00:59So this is win number four in 2025 for Olaf Coy, which is a good number and two of those
01:05as well at World Tour level.
01:07He was injured before the Giro d'Italia, he resumed racing only on the road of this very
01:14Giro d'Italia.
01:15Last race for it was Gent Vevegem and so was off racing for almost 40 days.
01:23So long time with no racing and I think he's finding his best legs now.
01:27And let's not forget for sprinters and Kasper Vanut I think is the perfect example.
01:32They boost themselves when they get results.
01:36And this might be the very first one of many for Olaf Coy.
01:43Four is a big number in modern sprinting.
01:46Gone are the days where you'd have one dominant sprinter who maybe win 10 or 15, 20 races a
01:51year, that sort of thing.
01:52That's not happening anymore.
01:54The top sprinters, as we've seen actually at this Giro d'Italia, they share out the victories.
01:59There's no one sprinter really who seems to be capable of dominating in the modern era.
02:05Definitely, as you said, probably Milan seems like one of the very few riders able to get a lot of
02:14victories over just one season.
02:17Although it's very often a matter of few meters and you get beaten by many riders.
02:24So it's very tight in between all the best sprinters now.
02:27The last sprinters to really do that were both Marcel Kittel and before him, of course, Mark Cavendish, who
02:33could dominate for year after year, but those days are behind us.
02:37Olaf Coy, though, at his best, is the match for anybody, including Milan, Philipsen and Merlia.
02:44Yeah, it's a very fine sprinter.
02:46It's another proof of today.
02:50So we see again, always very capable Dutch sprinters.
02:55Again, the first, we call it a proper sprint.
03:00It was a full podium of Dutch sprinters.
03:02And today, first and second, once again, as we are with the ceremony for the GC,
03:09with very smiling finally on the podium, probably found himself now to be in the right place.
03:14He's getting used to wearing the jersey.
03:16As today, he rode again perfectly, yet to be seen if the provisional standing we saw.
03:24So if he has lost any time, according to the classmen, to Carapaz.
03:28But in the chances he had today to extend his lead, again, two seconds in the Red Bull Kilometer.
03:33So once again, a very active and present Isaac del Toro.
03:38Yep.
03:39I was very impressed with the work done for him today, especially in the final by Filippo Barrancini.
03:45The one time that Isaac del Toro had seemed to lose his position a little bit.
03:52Barancini brought him back up close towards the front.
03:54So another champagne cork is about to fly through the air here in Lombardia.
04:01And another slightly less enthusiastic spraying from the sparkling wine.
04:07As this becomes more and more routine for him, and he picks up a fourth Malia Rosa, Isaac del Toro.
04:16Yeah, another fine day for him, still waiting for the official GC standings.
04:23We might have some information over the next minutes before this ceremony will finish.
04:29Bulfi number four.
04:30Still provisional.
04:31So we're still waiting on the decision of the jury.
04:32But as you rightly pointed out, Caruso is still waiting for the official GC standings.
04:36We might have some information over the next minutes before this ceremony will finish.
04:42But as you rightly pointed out, Caruso, G and Carapaz, if that split is going to be enforced, are the riders who are the right side of the split.
05:05Everybody else has lost, what, 45 seconds or something to those three riders.
05:12So we're still waiting to see which way the jury will decide.
05:17I do think that the whole process should be more transparent, a bit like it is in football and other sports when they're deciding.
05:26Yeah, we don't know.
05:28A little bit more information would be helpful for the viewers across the world.
05:31As far as we know, the crash of what it seems to be Mirko Maestrik happened at the very end.
05:38Yeah.
05:39So...
05:40Can't be that one.
05:41So I don't know if they're considered because it was just one man on the ground.
05:44I don't know if that's the case.
05:46So it's far from our understanding.
05:50That's Mads Pedersen once again.
05:53Fourth place for him.
05:54So he picked up a few more points in the Malia Ciclamino and he picked up six points on the road as well.
05:59Sprinting...
06:00Well, he didn't really have to sprint.
06:01Just going off the front of the bunch twice to pick up fourth place at both the intermediate sprints today, Mads Pedersen.
06:08As he sees Olaf Koi getting closer to him.
06:14Still considerable margin for Mads Pedersen.
06:18Roughly 75, 76 points if I'm not mistaken.
06:22As we're going to see soon, the general placement for the Ciclamino jersey.
06:27Yeah, he lost a bit of ground to Olaf Koi but so long as on the days where Olaf Koi wins, Mads Pedersen continues to place highly.
06:39He should be absolutely fine in that competition because the sprinting opportunities are few and far between here and Rome.
06:46Yeah, in fact, the only two stages that will give out 50 points are going to be, I think, tomorrow, I think, is a three-star stage.
06:55Yeah.
06:56Yeah, so it's going to be the last two stages, last two sprints, sorry, in the last week.
07:00Still, Olaf Koi now has over 100 points, 105, so it does look a little bit more like a competition.
07:09Kasper van Ouden as well, second place for him.
07:12He's moved up a little bit closer to Mads Pedersen but still almost, almost 100 points behind.
07:17Alessandro Tonelli, who started the day in second place, drops to fourth.
07:21Now, Lorenzo Fortunato, him again, today was not in danger, is leading the KOM jersey.
07:36Yeah, nothing really at stake.
07:38His big day was yesterday and it was a perfect day for Lorenzo Fortunato, really.
07:44He's been very, very strong in his attempt to win the King of the Mountains competition so far.
07:49He's picked exactly the right days in which to invest and he's delivered the maximum points haul.
07:58Pretty much, with the exception of the final climb yesterday.
08:06Just two category three climbs today.
08:09Total of 18 points available but none of his big rivals, not his big rivals in the classification,
08:16really featured in the breakaway with the exception of Manuel Tarozzi.
08:19But he's a long way down on the King of the Mountains, in the King of the Mountains competition.
08:24Yeah, I think till the weekend he won, nothing will happen in the key game classification.
08:31It is a classification of the climbers.
08:48Yeah.
08:49But Tarozzi moves up to third, doesn't he?
08:52He's now got 50 points.
08:56Four less than Juana Ayuso.
08:58But Lorenzo Fortunato has a huge lead in that competition.
09:00Tomorrow there are very few points available as well.
09:02We'll have a little look shortly at tomorrow's stage.
09:06Once we've heard from some of the riders and seen Isaac del Toro come on to collect another white jersey,
09:13the final jersey presentation of the podium ceremony on stage 12.
09:17All this, though, adding to the length of the day and the mental load and the general fatigue of the race leader,
09:34especially when they have to hang around for the white jersey as well, as Isaac del Toro does.
09:38And then he has to give an interview, not just to television, which we're about to see, but also to the assembled media,
09:44hold a little press conference del Toro day after day after day.
09:48And all his teammates are already having a shower on the team bus and starting to relax while he is still at work.
09:55And that's another thing that he's going to have to get used to.
09:58Yeah.
09:59But as we said, more at ease of the ceremony as he was in the other days.
10:06So it's getting used to wear it.
10:09And I think those those jerseys for him are like cherries, you know, you can stop after one.
10:15So there we go.
10:20There's the white jersey standings.
10:23I'm not sure that tells us too much, does it, about the maybe it does.
10:27Maybe there is a settled GC now.
10:29We're still waiting for confirmation.
10:31Yeah, we're still refreshing pages and checking or tablet provided by the organization, but still quite unclear.
10:40So.
10:42Well, this is once again, I think the crash involving Mircom.
10:51There's a 2012 grade for a moment.
10:52I think the crash involving Mircom.
10:53I think we're still going to get up to some women, so we can't get up here yet.
10:54I know.
10:55We know that.
10:56You can see that, that there are two times and you can see the race on the left.
10:57And see, that's one of the best.
10:59We're going to get up here, that there's one.
11:00And we're going to get somenicity's going to get up to a plate.
11:02And have to be done.
11:03We're going to get you know.
11:04And we're going to get through the last time.
11:05We're going to be right.
11:06And I'm going to get through the first time.
11:07We're going to get up here.
11:08We're going to get to a couple of seconds.
11:10Here we're going to get up here.
