00:06That's according to a new report by Taiwan's government watchdog.
00:11By law, most Taiwanese public servants must get approval before visiting China.
00:16But a recent investigation by the Control Yuan found that at least 318 officials made the trip without permission,
00:23including 55 high-level officials.
00:26The watchdog says the real number could be much higher, with many cases possibly slipping through the cracks.
00:33It's now urging the government to strengthen oversight.
