00:04way, a few months ago the President hosted the Prime Minister of Italy down in Florida
00:09and her English is excellent.
00:13Very good English.
00:14And I asked her, why is your English so good?
00:16It was really good.
00:18You know what she said?
00:19You know where she learned English?
00:21Michael Jackson.
00:23Not from him, not like personally, he wasn't doing the lessons from his music.
00:28Well, what it tells you is the impact that American culture has on the world in such
00:32a positive way and it can have such an influence.
00:35And the Kennedy Center is a showcase for it.
00:37So we're excited to see what you're leading here and all of you contributing towards that.
00:43And we're excited to see also the restoration of that building that really should be a showcase
00:47and something that we're proud of.
00:49That when people come to Washington, when people come to America, they want to see the
00:52shows that reflect the greatness of our culture and society and in a building run by an organization.
00:58That is reflective of excellence as well.
01:00So it's an honor to be here tonight.
01:01I want to thank all of you for contributing to this because it's important that this board
01:05and everyone that's involved in it and Rick and his team are doing a great job of making
01:09sure that your dollars and everything you've made possible will be well spent.
01:13So we'll have a treasure in our hands for future generations.
