00:03First of all, congratulations, el movie es tan, tan divertido, tan increíble.
00:06Gracias.
00:24I've always felt like people identify with him
00:26because he's a mixture of, I think, impishness and the right amount of evil.
00:35The whole concept was that we would redeem a villain.
00:39When we were finishing up Mulan, we were walking around and we were talking about
00:42how are we going to kill the Shan Yu, who's the big villain in the film.
00:45And I said out loud, I said, you know, people wouldn't suspect how much time we spend
00:47in the halls of Disney animation talking about how we're going to kill a character.
00:50And it was at that moment that I thought, well, do we have to kill one?
00:54Could we turn one of our villains into a hero?
00:57Could we redeem one of them?
00:58And that was really one of the engines that was, you know, at the core of the concept.
01:04And so he occupies this really fun space that I think people can empathize with a character
01:10and identify with a character who makes mistakes.
01:13And that's the beautiful thing about him is that, like, he, he, the idea in the first film
01:19is that Nani and Lilo are in a precarious position.
01:21Stitch doesn't cause the collapse, but he hastens it.
01:24And the whole idea is if he had not been invited into their house, they would have fallen apart.
01:29But because he's there, he becomes this element that initially hastens the collapse,
01:34but then ultimately he's powerful enough to pull it together
01:37when he finally really understands what family means.
01:40I love that.
01:41No, that's amazing.
01:43That's amazing answer.
01:45How was your reaction when you first saw this design, this live action,
01:49not only for you, Chris, but for you guys also, too?
01:51How was your first reaction?
01:53When we saw the film, the finish?
01:55Oh, when you saw the design of Stitch as a live action.
01:59Oh, the design, the design.
02:00Yeah.
02:00I love the design because we were on set and they were keeping this thing
02:04in, like, a cylinder completely protected.
02:06I was like, what's that?
02:07They're like, oh, that's a Stitch pop.
02:09I'm like, can I see?
02:10You can't take a picture.
02:11Be careful.
02:12Don't show anybody because we can't have any leaks.
02:14So I was like, I looked and they're these big eyes and they're soft and the fur is beautiful.
02:19And I thought it was a perfect.
02:21And it moved.
02:21It was engaged.
02:23The one that I saw just was like the, it was just a still thing.
02:27They were just showing them the design the first day over at the warehouse in Waikiki over there.
02:33The place that had bed air conditioning.
02:35Would they use him for, like, eye lines and stuff like that?
02:38Yeah.
02:39They had him on a pole.
02:40But he was, he was, I thought he was perfect.
02:43He was like the right amount of wrong, the right amount of, you know, scary and adorable and cute at the same time.
02:49It was beautiful.
02:50It was amazing the way, I mean, you.
02:53I didn't see the one that moved.
02:54Yeah.
02:56We had a huge, the end of the movie.
02:58So he was, he was there and so for eye lines and stuff.
03:01And his eyes blinked and things.
03:03Oh, wow.
03:04It was amazing to see that, that, that, that technology of puppetry.
03:09And I, you know, we, we, we, we got so used to seeing the puppet.
03:14We, you know, in the movie, it was like, where's the puppet?
03:16Oh, no, no, wait, wait, this is the movie.
03:17Yes, go, Stitch.
03:19You know, so it, it was, it served the purpose very well.
03:24Yeah, I was asking because it actually works incredibly well, even if it's a live action,
03:29because we all know the difference between animation, live action, etc.
03:32It goes incredibly well.
