Ce mardi avait lieu la 10e étape du Tour d'Italie, un contre-la-montre de 28,7 km entre Lucques et Pise. Le Néerlandais Daan Hoole (Lidl-Trek), parti en début d'après-midi, a su profiter d'une météo clémente et s'est imposé à la surprise générale devant le grand favori Joshua Tarling (INEOS Grenadiers) et le Britannique Ethan Hayter (Soudal Quick-Step). Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), parti en dernier en tant que leader du classement général, a lui dû gérer des conditions difficiles avec une forte pluie et une route détrempée. Au final, il a bien limité la casse, terminant à la 37e place à 2'22" de Daan Hoole, et conserve ainsi son maillot rose, avec 25 secondes d'avance sur son coéquipier Juan Ayuso.
