00:00The first details have emerged about what this year's Bristol Christmas market could look like as a planning application lands with the City Council.
00:10If approved, the festive market would return to Broadmead's pedestrianised zone from 6 November until 23 December.
00:20According to the application, submitted by event organisers Relevation, several changes are proposed for the 2025 edition, including new attractions and updated layouts.
00:34One of the biggest changes is a new umbrella bar featuring a giant parasol canopy set to take over the spot near Cabot Circus, where the wooden cider bar stood last year.
00:46Next to that, a new fairground ride, shaped like a Christmas tree, which would spin children around inside oversized baubles.
00:56There's also a revamped Jager Barn bar, balloon-themed seating areas for food and drink and two-storey upgrades for the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap Hut, one of the market's busiest food stores in recent years.
01:11The 15-metre Ferris wheel is set to return, along with dozens of food outlets, craft stalls and a Father Christmas Train's ride.
01:21If given the green light, the market would run daily from 10 in the morning until 8 in the evening, with food and drink trading extended to 10 o'clock.
01:31Last year's market drew thousands of visitors and, while no official attendance figures were published, Bristol's City Centre bid said December footfall in Broadmead rose by over 10 per cent.
