00:32didn't drop or that they repeated with Tatum yeah I mean that that singular decision if if Tatum hits

00:39the shot you win the game right and it's a totally different series yeah I mean I I definitely I put

00:44blame on his plate but I also put them I put the majority blame on the players plate they had an

00:50opportunity in games one and two up by 20 can't throw the ball in the ocean in the third and fourth

00:56quarter um you were I believe you you show that you could beat this team you win games three and

01:02then you win game and they win game three and five right three and five yeah so you win games three and

01:10five and then game six you don't show up you know your best player at that time who's Jalen Brown

01:16doesn't do anything doesn't put the team on his back Derek White is missing in action I mean

01:21Porzingis had been dealing with the issues all series long so you couldn't really count on him

01:26Drew Holiday wasn't the same Drew Holiday was a no-show what I found interesting was you guys

01:31remember before the playoffs when Missoula I think it might have been on with Big Cat and PMT

01:35about the he doesn't have any memorabilia from the championship in his house yes and I said

01:41if they get eliminated he will cite it immediately and the other night he talked about the champions

01:47right after they lost and it's I mean he's not going to get fired I don't believe um he'll get

01:55fired maybe not next year but the following year when Tatum comes back if he doesn't if he doesn't

03:48conversation about how they need to shed payroll today no so why are we giving them this excuse

03:53because they have plenty of money they just I mean like so why are we saying a team failed to get to

03:59its goal they were eliminated by an inferior team and next year we're saying they should be worse

06:37player probably the former is better than the latter right so you'd much rather have those guys

06:44and lose the 25th pick or a mid-level exception so what are we talking about why are you punishing

06:50your team more for getting under the cap or the tax as opposed to dealing with whatever the

06:57punitive measures are because the new owner doesn't want to spend six billion on the team and

07:01then have to drop another five exactly but they're going to charge you top of the market to go to the

07:05game and watch it well New Hampshire texter says Curtis acting like paying 20 million dollars on a cap

07:11tax is nothing is absurd oh poor billionaires that buy this as their fun toy like honestly you're

07:19siding with billionaires look at yourself you're driving to work you're sitting in traffic you're taking

07:23care of your family your kids want to go to a game why do you give a damn about a

07:27billionaire's bottom line well I would ask it like if you were the owner of this team

07:31would you pay all that money to run it back knowing Tatum's not gonna be there next year

07:37yeah because you have a better chance of winning next year with those guys than you do of raising

07:42the white flag without your best no no but do you think that you can run it back and win or do you say

07:48okay we have to start planning on how we can put a team around Tatum when he comes back in two years

07:55right I I would be focused on next year and I still think without Tatum you were a better

08:01basketball team than the New York Knicks agreed yeah but you're you're not gonna spend 500 million

08:07and be a first or second round winning basketball team why would you do that you could be what do

08:15you mean so why would you spend 400 million then I mean if we're gonna talk about the actual merits

08:19of spending you don't think that this roster and this is nothing against Jason Tatum let me be

08:25clear to you you don't think that this roster without Jason Tatum is much more talented than

08:28a lot of the teams in the east oh I'm not saying they won't make the playoffs they weren't able to

08:32beat the Knicks because they choked and they had that's not a talent thing that's choked but that says

08:37something about the the character of the individuals that you have on the basketball even better reason to

08:44bring it back and change the messaging yep so if you brought this team back maybe they win a round

08:50or two right and so now you're right now you're they're not winning three rounds now so that means

08:56they get to the conference final now you're 500 million I think it's less crazy for this team to go

09:01next year full speed without Jason Tatum and make it to a finals I think it's less crazy of that

09:07than the Knicks beating the Celtics this season if you were to stop the season speed by the way

09:11Porzingis for 11 minutes a game poor guy

09:15that sucks though like I it's crazy if you are a professional athlete and they can't figure out

09:24how to make you better yeah I mean Al Horford is going to be 90 yeah when uh October rolls around

09:30well I don't know why you would want this team without Tatum next year like I we don't want it

09:35without Tatum but that's what we've been dealt right but so in order to get some assets some pieces to

09:41build your new your new dynasty or potentially your new team it's time to get rid of guys like

09:48Porzingis who can't breathe guys like Drew Holiday so if you trade Porzingis what are you getting in

09:52I I mean I have well you're the one who says trade him I don't what are they getting I don't know you

09:57get you get rid of some of that money and then maybe that money that you then have allows you to

10:02in two years when Tatum comes back to maybe get that third max player if you keep Jalen and Jason

10:09yeah I the way I view it if you can't this offseason as currently constituted the Celtics

10:16are my guess the second favorite to win the East next year not even close they're better than the

10:23Knicks they're better than the Pacers they're not better than they're not going to be going in

10:26they were favored against the Knicks without Tatum that that that was let this year next year going

10:31in knowing that you don't have Tatum there and maybe the Knicks they didn't have Tatum and they

10:36were favored against them but but the but what I'm saying to you is next year you don't know what

10:40the Knicks are going to be but you said there's no chance they're better than the Knicks they won't

10:43according to those that set lines they were yeah they were this year and they were all wrong well

10:49next year if if Porzingis is healthy aren't they we don't but see that we don't know if Porzingis is

10:53going to be out that to me is a better risk to take than trading for five cents on a dollar what

10:57happens if next year Giannis ends up in New York I mean they have great Greek food so so we don't know

11:04going into the season you think Giannis could park at that restaurant without getting towed yeah

11:08Giannis could park wherever he wants especially the Greek yeah when you look we know what the Celtics

11:14will look like next year Jalen Brown Porzingis Drew Holiday Derek White and you're probably starting

11:23Pete Pritch that's just we know that's what it's going to look like Sam Hauser and Cornette

11:28and then Al Horford is probably gone he's going to be a free agent so do you resign him or do you not

11:36but that's what your team is do you feel good about that team I don't I don't either it's just so

11:42foreign to me like growing up all I wanted was my team to win I didn't care about how expensive it

11:47was it's your money of course we don't care but we are we're giving them an out for we got to put

11:53ourselves in their shoes if you're the new owner and you're Chisholm and you spent six billion on

11:59this team and now your payroll plus luxury taxes or whatever penalties is going to 500 million you

12:06got to say can this team get me a championship if I'm going to pay right he ran this is the other

12:11thing like when somebody runs for president and they bitch about how tough the job is well you wanted

12:15it like you were one of many people that was in hot pursuit of buying this team yeah and now you

12:22have the team you're like whoa what look at this unmanageable roster I inherited you bought it like

12:27you knew exactly what the book said and you spent six billion to get the team yeah but I'm supposed

12:32to fear your bottom line but it's also a results business and the result was not good right I would

12:38start with the coach that is where I would go first it doesn't have to be an apron no apron

12:42whatever that doesn't impact the tax I think Joe Mazzula is in over his head all right so you

12:48start without Jason Tatum in general I just without Tatum to bail in two of three years as head coach

12:53of this team he's lost to an inferior team in the eastern conference playoffs he lost to the heat

12:58Celtics much better team than the heat he lost the Knicks the Celtics a better team than the Knicks

13:02no just simple factual statements yeah oh yeah but I I also look and go if you're the new owner

13:10you have no arena so that's more money coming out of your pocket I think he knew that when he bought

13:16no I think he did but he didn't know that he'd be without Jason Tatum right he probably thought

13:21because I would say to you if this team is Jason Tatum Jalen Brown and the rest of the guys all right

13:27roll the dice and run it back and if I'm Chisholm maybe then he can focus on a better coach if you

13:32think Joe Mazzula is an issue and if I'm Chisholm I'd say no problem at all but once you lose Jason Tatum

13:38and you go well this is what I'm coming back to why am I gonna pay the 500 million dollars right

13:46for a result that's gonna be very similar to what it was this season right do you think it's like

13:51express like you could return the Celtics like this isn't what he wanted I think you have 30 days
