Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said Jaylen Brown is setting the tone for the side with his defensive efforts.

00:00Jalen had had a rough start shooting start to the season.

00:05Was it good to see him get a little hot early on?

00:07And then the flip side of that, did it feel like that almost negatively impacted

00:12you guys after he got so hot?

00:13I think you missed 11 straight shots after he made five.

00:17I don't know if it negatively impacted us.

00:18I mean, if you're gonna ask me if we're gonna be up,

00:20what were we up, six or eight or something like that?

00:25I would take that in the first quarter against a team like that.

00:27But do you have to fight to have a rhythm for others?

00:30Yeah, at the same time, it was cool.

00:32I think Jalen recognized that.

00:33He was like, hey, I think he passed up another one.

00:36I went to him and he was like, yeah,

00:37I just gotta make sure we get our rhythm back as a team.

00:39And so it's great to have guys like him that you could do that, but

00:42also could point out where it wasn't a negative impact.

00:44But it was like, okay, let's get our offensive rhythm and connectivity there.

00:48And I don't know if that was a direct correlation to the 11 in a row.

00:51Some of those were wide open layups.

00:54Some of them were good shots, so I don't think it was a correlation to that.

00:57But I do think there's a rhythm component to it, and

00:58he did a great job of balancing that in that quarter.

01:01Yeah, it's great to have a player of his caliber take defense to another level and

01:06take match-ups personally when your best players are your best defenders.

01:11It kind of sets a tone for your team and in your locker room defensively.

01:16So he takes pride in individual match-ups, so

01:18he did a great job of that tonight.
