Why so many Americans are skipping summer travel

Fewer Americans are set to travel this summer. Here's why.

00:00Cost is the biggest thing preventing people from traveling this summer.

00:04We see that 46% of Americans are planning a summer vacation.

00:08About one in four are definitely not planning to travel,

00:11and about another one in four are not sure yet.

00:15Cost is the biggest obstacle by far.

00:17And interestingly, it's split between travel costs and day-to-day costs.

00:22A lot of people are saying that everyday life is so expensive

00:25that there's nothing left for travel.

00:27I am a big fan of taking some time to relax and recharge.

00:31I don't want you to go into debt for it,

00:33but if you can maybe plan a staycation or a road trip

00:36or use some rewards points and miles

00:38or be flexible to find the best deals,

00:41there should be some way to have summer fun on a budget.
