00:00:00We've had some ordinary weather, but not so bad that play can't begin. It's been because
00:00:12of a damp outfield that we've had to wait until 3 o'clock. The captains have just tossed.
00:00:16Michael, you've lost that toss. Yeah, we've lost the toss. We're going to have, obviously,
00:00:20Riles decided to bowl. We'd have bowled as well, but, you know, I think it was a tricky
00:00:23decision on what to do and what the right things to do. We'll just have to do exactly
00:00:26what we did at Lourdes, get runs on the board and put them under pressure that way.
00:00:29Delighted. I know you were with your performance at Lourdes, but has it niggled at all that
00:00:34you're not one up in the last few days? Oh, that'd have been nice, but to be honest, I
00:00:37always look at the performance and I honestly don't think we could have done anything different
00:00:40to play any better. And sometimes you've just got to look at the performance and if you
00:00:44can't get the win at the end of it, you know, you just move on to the next game. That's
00:00:47exactly what we have to do here. Play well, hopefully go 1-0 up come Tuesday night.
00:00:51England so near and yet so far at Lourdes and Michael Vaughan retaining faith with that
00:00:55team. Chris Tremblett in the side, not Stuart Broad and otherwise some increasingly familiar
00:01:01names there. India also unchanged. Rao Dravid will be expecting far more from his men than
00:01:06he got, particularly in the first half of that game at Lourdes. And here is the Indian
00:01:10captain. Looking at these conditions, you've chosen to bowl first. I suppose your only
00:01:15concern is the damn ball. It is the only concern was the damn ball, but the weather should
00:01:19be clearing and should be some good weather later on. They're going to use the rope around
00:01:22the outfield and try and get it as dry as possible. But the wicket's been under cover
00:01:25for two and a half days and we want to try and have a go at them early on. We're ready
00:01:30to go. It'll be Zaheer Khan who will bowl to Andrew Strauss. Three slips of gully and
00:01:34a short leg. And Strauss' response is to play an off drive straight into that area. No problem
00:01:47rushes across it. And England's first boundary is recorded. Out! Simple catch to Sachin Tendulkar.
00:01:59The fully pitched out swinger from Zaheer Khan. The length is ideal here. There'll be
00:02:07movement off this surface because of all the moisture that has been evident from the rainfall
00:02:12over the past few days. And India must have a good start here. Didn't have it at Lourdes.
00:02:17Andrew Strauss is gone. 4-1. It's a good move into the ball from Alistair Cook. Trying to
00:02:32hit it too hard and consequently he got the timing right. Economy of movement. Good head
00:02:40position. All these things really matter here. Oh, it didn't get there. I didn't think it
00:02:49got there anyway. Very difficult to be sure whether that carried or not. No, it didn't
00:03:00carry. Oh, well bowled. Beautifully bowled. It was straight on the helmet. Much quicker delivery.
00:03:10You've got to give credit to the bowler there. Michael Vaughan's all right. They've got helmets
00:03:14these days. But, oh yes, there's a little bit of feel in there. Oh, that's a poor ball.
00:03:24Saying how well he bowled a short ball at Michael Vaughan. Then he slips one onto the pads. It's easy.
00:03:32Out, out, out. Wonderful bowling. Gone over the wicket, now gone around the wicket and bowled an absolute perfect line and
00:03:46length delivery. Nothing wrong with Michael Vaughan's shot when you see him playing forward.
00:03:51Wasn't poor footwork or anything. Just quality bowling by Zahir Khan and his 150th wicket in Test Match
00:03:57Brigade. Well, they come at quite a high average those 150 wickets around the mid-30s and that over
00:04:04really just suggests why. A couple of very good balls. A couple of ordinary ones. But maybe Vaughan's
00:04:09still thinking about the bang on the head. But a good ball from Zahir Khan and a great breakthrough.
00:04:1324-2 England. Two umpires for this game. Simon Taufel, who for the last three years has won the
00:04:20ICC Best Umpire Award from Australia. Hasn't ever played first class but played great cricket
00:04:27in New South Wales. And his colleague Ian Howell from South Africa was a
00:04:31first-class left-handed all-rounder for Eastern Province and Border.
00:04:43Well, he's timed that wonderfully well. He wasn't sure how well. He just waited. He pushed it to half volley.
00:04:52A really easy half volley. But it went so well, it went past mid-on. Three runs to Alistair Cook and
00:04:58that brings up his 1,500th run in Test Match cricket. In fact, Cook's become the youngest
00:05:05Englishman to get to that landmark at 22 years and 214 days. Ian Bell and Kevin Peterson down
00:05:11the bottom are also in that top 10 list. But it just confirms with Cook's presence at the top of it
00:05:17the impression we had of him when he first arrived on the test scene in Nagpur back in March last
00:05:22year. That he really belonged there with the temperament and the concentration and the repertoire
00:05:27of shots to match.
00:05:30Now around the wicket. Maybe he can get a better line outside of Stoke. That's better.
00:05:35But that is a good shot. I'm not sure Kevin Peterson heard the no ball but he just stood up.
00:05:41And spunked it straight for four.
00:05:49Searching for that magic delivery again. He's gone too straight. Santagumar and Sreesant.
00:05:54It didn't swing as much and Peterson played the deftest of touches in getting another boundary.
00:06:00Kevin Peterson's gone. R.P. Singh fresh from a five-wicket haul up Lord's gets a huge one.
00:06:13It was Ian Bishop who said at the start of the Lord's Test, don't underestimate R.P. Singh.
00:06:19To get the ball to swing back is the key. It's something Ryan Sidebottom does well. It pitches
00:06:24on. It straightens. It hits Peterson between wicket and wicket and the umpire Ian Howell is
00:06:29optionless but to give that out. What a splendid bit of bowling from a pretty competitive cricketer.
00:06:34It's a competitive cricketer that goes though. Peterson made 13. It's 47 for three.
00:06:42Oh he's just picking it off Alistair Cook. It's not a rip-roaring start to his innings.
00:06:4725 or 52 balls but it's that sort of day when patience is demanded and watchfulness
00:06:54is the key for any batsman on the surface that's offering a lot for the bowlers.
00:07:08Quite a convincing pull shot from Paul Collingwood but he might have gotten enough on it to get it
00:07:12away for four. R.P. Singh giving him a reminder from his Lord's dismissal.
00:07:22And a solid crunch. Even with all the rain there's still
00:07:27fair enough peace in the outfield when the ball is struck well enough.
00:07:33More runs. That was a loose ball and that's well put away by Collingwood jamming down on it. He does
00:07:38slightly over balance sometimes when the ball is slanted back into him but
00:07:41he's got such quick hands.
00:07:45I suppose you'd say it's on as even after the first session with England 94 for three.
00:07:50Looking back to the starter play there was a contrast in the mental states of the two
00:07:53England left-handed openers. Alistair Cook on the left in his second year of test cricket is
00:07:57fairly carefree. Strauss on the right more experienced but less at ease after his patchy
00:08:03form of late. He got off to a good start with a nice half volley driven down the ground. It was
00:08:06a full ball from Zahir Khan but this one his ninth delivery was not so full and he tried to drive
00:08:12it and got an edge the swing accounting for Andrew Strauss. I think he has a problem maybe recognizing
00:08:17the right ball to drive. Here are those two deliveries. The one on the right was the one he
00:08:20was out to. A little shorter, a good length. The one on the left a genuine half volley and he gets
00:08:26that one away nicely with a good foot movement. The one on the right though wasn't short enough
00:08:30for the drive certainly not at this stage of the innings and his back comes all round it and he
00:08:34snicks it through to slip. We can see those balls again. The red one is the one he drove. That was
00:08:37the half volley. The blue one a good length ball. He should have been leaving or blocking and as a
00:08:42result it cost him his wicket. No problems though for Alistair Cook in recognizing the right deliveries
00:08:47to block or to drive. There's a wide one from Srisanth early on which he left. That there Strauss
00:08:52might have looked to drive but it was a good length one that Cook just blocked and it was only when it
00:08:56was really full he tried to play the drive. You can see him here just waiting for it and then guiding
00:09:01it rather than trying to hit it too hard. He's an accomplished all-round player already. Cook his
00:09:07deftness and skill on the leg side is well known but he's also got the power as well to put away
00:09:12anything short. He really is such a discovery for England.
00:09:21Shot. Well that's 100 up for England. India have kept them reasonably quiet
00:09:27since tea but they've got to try and sneak a wicket.
00:09:32Out. Inside edge. Well the pressure's paid off. They've denied England runs since tea. Really
00:09:40made them creep along for odd singles and finally Collingwood trying to drive. I'm not
00:09:46sure he was quite there for drive. He gets an inside edge. And good change of bowling. Srisanth
00:09:52replacing Zahe Khan from that pavilion and building on the pressure created by Khan and Ganguly. So
00:09:58good partnership in terms of bowling from India and Collingwood has gone 101 for four.
00:10:12Not far yet. I was going to say not far away but it's worse than that for Alistair Cook.
00:10:17Look at Ganguly. He deserves it really. Little medium paces but with a hint of swing and seam
00:10:23have caused extraordinary problems for Cook. There's been no pace for him to work with.
00:10:28Ganguly's figures six overs five balls one for nine.
00:10:34And in the end Cook playing all around a straight ball.
00:10:38If he didn't get a little inside edge onto it I think that's a pretty good decision from Simon
00:10:44Taufel. Unless of course it's sneaking over the stumps but that's Hawkeye's opinion.
00:10:50Not Mr Taufel's. Cook made 43. Ganguly has a wicket. It's 109 for five. England in the mire.
00:10:58Oh yes finally a bit of timing from Ian Bell.
00:11:12There's a great stroke. Real sign of intent. Good footwork.
00:11:29Bell won't have any of it. He will not be tied down.
00:11:35Oh finally Matt Pryor gets going. 18 balls his face before getting off the mark. He does so
00:11:40with the boundary. Uncharacteristic of Pryor who has been stuck in the same shell as one or two
00:11:45other of the England batsmen. Oh great cricket by India. Ariel Cumbre getting the leg break to go.
00:11:57Excellent work by Raul Dravid in there at slip. That's a crucial moment for India because England
00:12:03suddenly began to get away. But watch this. He pushes it Matt Pryor. Pushes at the ball. It
00:12:10beautifully teased. Indeed it's just up there outside off stump. Teased him into playing a
00:12:15nothingness shot. He wasn't hitting it and he wasn't defending it and he pays the price. He's
00:12:21got 11. 147 for six. That's got to be close. That swung in and yes. The seventh England wicket
00:12:33falls. Ian Bell a big wicket really because he was looking quite confident. But that was one from
00:12:38Zahir Khan that bent back late and trapped Bell in front. Bell falling over. Look at where the head
00:12:45is. There's no debate about this LBW and for me India have had a sparkling day with the ball.
00:12:51Bold as a unit and this man has led from the front.
00:12:56Three wickets for Zahir Khan and Bell goes for 31. 157 for seven.
00:13:04Best weather of the day here at Trent Bridge at 7.20 in the evening.
00:13:12And guided cleverly by Chris Tremlett.
00:13:15Probably not all the way with it. Yes in fact just gathered a bit of pace over this
00:13:20gradually drying outfield. Using his big reach to good effect.
00:13:27Used to polish off tailenders for a pastime. Manuel Kumble. Struggling with his line a bit
00:13:32today and that's a good shot from Chris Tremlett. He just dropped it a bit short.
00:13:35Kumble and Tremlett had the presence of mind there to get back and force it away and oh dear.
00:13:43Sreesanth the pursuing fielder with a bit of escort service and a
00:13:47nice little dive at the end. 7.2 for the dive.
00:13:53At the end of the first day a rejuvenated India have shackled the England batting
00:13:57to the tune of only 169 for seven. Alistair Cook top scoring with 43. A number of other batsmen
00:14:02getting started but not carrying on. Khan three for 50 and wickets for various other bowlers.
00:14:08Ganguly one for 11. The pick there and England are going to have to bowl well
00:14:13to make amends for a patchy batting display.
00:14:30Two slips to the left-handed side bottom for Kumble.
00:14:34Floated up nicely. Clipped away as well. That's a solid blow.
00:14:38That field's quickened up from yesterday. Nice shot.
00:14:45Oh that's just missed. Dangerous to play across the line against Kumble.
00:14:49He tempts you and he teases you.
00:14:55And he's done it in the end. Well that was really kind of almost predictable I suppose.
00:15:00Chris Tremlett had made a useful contribution there but in fact as time wore on he was just
00:15:04getting more and more frustrated against the accuracy of Kumble. And really Kumble deserved
00:15:09that. So the experiment of putting a spinner on first has worked. Tremlett is going for 20. 186 for 8.
00:15:26Good shot. Beautiful shot from Ryan Sidebottom. It really looks like
00:15:30he might be able to make something out of his batting.
00:15:32Seeing the solid defense and the little clip shots of his pads. That was an authentic cover drive.
00:15:43In the air and pouched by VVS Laxman at second slip.
00:15:47Zahir Khan's been looking for that mood of dismissal.
00:15:53And just one blemish in the slipcord and yesterday when Tendulkar put down a catch.
00:15:58Apart from that the catching has been safe. A nice full length from Zahir Khan.
00:16:01Really has been outstanding and showing his experience
00:16:04in this match. Keeping the ball up to the bat largely. 195 for 9.
00:16:19Oh that's it. Beautifully bowled by Anil Kumble to finish the innings.
00:16:24Good efficient job done by the Indians this morning to punish off England for the addition
00:16:27of only 29 runs for the last three wickets. So the useful landmark of 200 for England proves elusive.
00:16:37And the main reason was that nobody went on and got a big score. That was an indistinguished
00:16:41performance by England. 43 by Cook. 13 by Peterson. 28 by Collingwood. 31 by Bell.
00:16:48Of the main batsmen there they would reckon to go on and make something substantial.
00:16:52Four for Zahir Khan. Three for the evergreen Anil Kumble. One each for Srisanth Singh and Ganguly.
00:16:57That was a pretty good bowling performance by India. Now Michael Vaughn won't be dwelling on
00:17:02the past. He'll want to throw this forward now and say we have to get back into the game
00:17:06in the next couple of sessions. We've got to bowl intelligently.
00:17:10Make India play at the ball and catch our catches.
00:17:22Terrific bowling.
00:17:30Survival is the key for these Indian openers. They want to stay in,
00:17:33get rid of the new ball. You see there's still a bit of swing and movement.
00:17:43Four. An easy full toss.
00:17:47Not a great start by James Anderson.
00:17:56Nice. Now that's what the Anderson wants.
00:18:06And that's 4-2.
00:18:11Rush of runs for India at the start of this innings.
00:18:16Which won't please Michael Vaughn. Not one bit.
00:18:21Nice shot.
00:18:23Jaffer has now only scored 13 or 41 deliveries.
00:18:27It's been painstakingly slow for him but it's been a secure innings.
00:18:36Shot. Beautiful shot. Off the back foot. Stay tall.
00:18:40That'll go for four. No problem. 50 up for India.
00:18:43Or Collingwood.
00:18:46Shot. Oh, a little bit of width and he played that magnificently.
00:18:52Kartik has probably been waiting for something to get stuck into.
00:19:07Oh, that's a sweet shot. Unbelievably good.
00:19:10When you think they struggle these two openers,
00:19:13there's some great deliveries gone past the edge of the bat.
00:19:16That must always be really nice to feel the middle of the bat with a shot like that.
00:19:30Dropped. Not easy. Nothing going right for England.
00:19:36Nothing going right for England. Sharp chance left-handed there for Bell.
00:19:41Would have been a cracker if it had taken it but maybe that's what they need.
00:19:45They need somebody to do something a bit special to get into the game.
00:19:48It's getting away from them.
00:19:59Frustration for everybody. Really, England have to make a breakthrough.
00:20:05Oh, hello. What a way to start against Ebola.
00:20:19Panisar was convinced he had him. Didn't even take a look at what Panisar was offering.
00:20:26He was trying to mow him to the square leg fence.
00:20:29Oh, it's not a mile away either. The sport pitched on and straightened.
00:20:44Dinesh Karthik couldn't be proud of that innings.
00:20:48He's gone to 15 fine style and he's set India up here.
00:20:54He'll get a grand hand from his mates back in the dressing room.
00:20:59That's four. No justice for Anderson. A good delivery there but flying through
00:21:13the slips to bring up the Indian hundred. The first hundred partnership of the two tests for
00:21:19the Indian team.
00:21:30Streaky again from Wazim Jaffer but it brings up his 50. It's been
00:21:34nicely composed innings by the Indian opener. A bit less effervescent than his smaller partner
00:21:41but equally valuable.
00:21:52Oh, that's a lovely shot to warm the hearts of side bottom as he begins a new spell.
00:22:02That's brush the glove and Jaffer walks. A change of ends and a new spell for Chris
00:22:09Shremleth brings the right tonic for Michael Vaughan and his men. The breakthrough has finally
00:22:14happened. Tremendous ball. Ian Bishop would have been proud to bow in himself. A steepling bounce
00:22:22and just enough movement. The ball hitting the seam. Oh, that's fantastic bit of cricket from
00:22:29Oh, that's fantastic bit of cricket from Chris Shremleth.
00:22:35Now, will that turn things around for England? Is it a boost they need
00:22:39or is it a more comfortable pitch to bat on? A very competent 62
00:22:43by Wazim Jaffer. 147 for one India. That's still 51 behind England.
00:22:49Is that a catch? I think that is a catch. Yes, what a way to start after tea.
00:23:00Finally, Dinesh Karthik is gone. Monty Panesar has the wicket. Alistair Cook is the catcher.
00:23:08What a way for England to start and half the crowd aren't back in their seats.
00:23:13Dinesh Karthik was very disappointed. Whether he was disappointed in the decision or himself,
00:23:18difficult to tell, but certainly the type of beginning to the final session that England
00:23:23would want. Karthik has batted well for a 77-149 for two.
00:23:28Karthik has batted well for a 77-149 for two.
00:23:37Yeah, very good. Very quick on his feet. Israel Dravid and a wonderful timer of the ball.
00:23:45Oh, crikey. That's a bad blow. Full on the helmet or at least on the visor.
00:24:00Anderson getting the ball to really spit at Tendulkar. It's a fidgety start by the great man.
00:24:07He's been playing test cricket for 18 years. He's 34 now. Oh dear.
00:24:16Oh, well, that'll go for four. This is a right good little contest between
00:24:22Jimmy Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar. And at the moment, the moral victory is with Anderson,
00:24:28but Tendulkar is still at the crease. And don't they love it and doesn't he hate it?
00:24:36Oh, well bowled. Again, you see, just India's day. It swung beautifully, pitched it up,
00:24:42much more than that. Dravid just got the bat and it slipped off the face square.
00:24:53There's lovely timing from Sachin Tendulkar. Nice easy move into the ball. Oh, no, no, no, no.
00:25:01Mind you, he's good fielder, James Anderson. So we'll put that down as a mental aberration.
00:25:05We must do something else here. We must salute the man who hit the stroke.
00:25:09Sachin Tendulkar has just recorded his 11,000th test match run.
00:25:17He is in the stratosphere of batsmen of all time. And Trent Bridge stands to him.
00:25:28Oh, yeah. Now that's like Tendulkar at his best.
00:25:32Slightly on the up, but a single movement forward into the ball.
00:25:36And they're cracking their timing.
00:25:4950 for Sachin Tendulkar with the deftest of touches.
00:25:57What a save that is.
00:25:58I guess that the third umpire will look at it again, but in the meantime, let's celebrate Tendulkar.
00:26:18As a catch, it is brilliantly taken. That was the wider ball from Monty Panesar. Cleverly
00:26:24slightly held back maybe drew Rahul Dravid, the wall, into a mistake. So there is a chink.
00:26:32A breakthrough that England badly needed and no wonder they're celebrating.
00:26:37Outstanding piece of fielding. Dravid goes for 37. India 246 for three.
00:26:45That was a little bit too full from Panesar, trying to invite the drive and Ganguly accepted it. Drilled it through the offside.
00:26:54Almost immediately after that boundary by Suhrav Ganguly, the umpires offered the light to the batsman and they went off.
00:27:00If that sounds odd after a boundary, it was probably the threat of the new ball, which was due
00:27:05after 80 overs that convinced the Indian batsman to go for the free kick.
00:27:10It was time to say good evening. 79 overs bowled by England. 254 for three the Indian score with Tendulkar
00:27:22beginning to look in terrific touch, but credit goes to the opening batsman for the way they set
00:27:26it up. Wholehearted performances from the English bowlers. They all did their bit, but the luck
00:27:31wasn't with them today. Hugely promising effort by Chris Tremlett. 20 overs won for 32 from him.
00:27:37That's the situation of the game. India leading by 56 with three days play left and England's
00:27:44bowling coach Alan Donald is here with me now. I know it's a cliche in sport, but that was one of
00:27:49those days, wasn't it? Yes, it was. It could have gone anyway, you know. I think England had a,
00:27:54you know, with a bit of luck could have had India in all sorts of trouble, but that's test
00:27:58cricket for you and, you know, we have got tough days. That was a classical days of hard grinding
00:28:03test cricket and India find themselves now in a good position, but tomorrow is a new day. We've
00:28:08got to get back on the horse tomorrow and with a bit of regeneration tonight and coming out tomorrow
00:28:14out of the blocks first thing. The new ball is a fillip for them, isn't it? Absolutely. It's a
00:28:18shame that we couldn't have taken it tonight, but yet again bad light has come and spoiled the day,
00:28:22but yes, that's the new ball tomorrow straight up. We'll have to do the talking. It's very clear that
00:28:28you brought greater aggression to the English seamers, but today they had to pitch a bit fuller.
00:28:33It wasn't all about short pitches, was it? No, the pitches got a lot better, it's got to be said,
00:28:38but also we've talked a lot about the length that India bowled yesterday and I thought we
00:28:44showed a great deal of patience in bowling that length and as I said, you know, with a bit of
00:28:48luck it could have been different, but I thought that it seems to have bounced more from that
00:28:53length. The pitch has got a lot of dents in it and I think it's going to do that throughout the
00:28:58Test match, especially when the ball's nice and hard. You know England well. Are you enjoying
00:29:02being here working with these youngsters? Yes, it's fantastic and I mean, you know, I enjoy the
00:29:07challenge. It's, you know, it's great for me. Once again, it's not about the colours and the badge,
00:29:12it's about working with a professional outfit at the highest level and then, you know,
00:29:17and I know myself and I'm a very passionate bloke and, you know, if it helps doing that
00:29:23then I think the response has been fantastic so far and the feedback.
00:29:27So
00:29:44fine enough, delicate touch and the runs for Tendulkar, his first boundary of this morning.
00:29:52What timing, what timing in that strong area square in the offside from Ganguly.
00:30:03Insected the point and the two gully fielders like a rocket.
00:30:11Well put away, solid enough, yes, he's gone all the way in fact. Wow, what a stamp of authority
00:30:21Ganguly has played here within a couple of balls.
00:30:31Edged just short of Paul Collingwood and in fact Ian Bell caught the rebound but it had already
00:30:36bounced. Oh dear, it's just not going for England this morning at all. They needed to strike in the
00:30:41first 45 minutes, they haven't done so. The Indians maybe have had a touch of luck.
00:30:51Shot, wonderful shot, that's where his timing comes in.
00:31:01Shot, that's his timing again. Ganguly at his best,
00:31:05little race away, little firm push and four runs. Thank you very much.
00:31:13There goes Tendulkar.
00:31:14With awesome conviction.
00:31:24There's purpose, intent, power and exquisite execution.
00:31:3750 for Sarav Ganguly.
00:31:45He does play delightful strokes, particularly on the offside where he's at his most elegant.
00:31:51But all he's concerned about here is the substantial advantage that India have established.
00:31:56They now lead by 137. The sun's out, pitch seems okay and two exceptional players are set.
00:32:08Flashed backward as square by Tendulkar. First over after lunch, Paul Collingwood
00:32:13surprisingly brought into the attack by Michael Vaughan and deposited for Tendulkar's 12th boundary.
00:32:23Oh, that was quite close. Just probably missing off stump. No, given by Simon Tattle. Well there
00:32:30is an extraordinary shot. Tendulkar cannot believe it.
00:32:35Nine runs short of what looked as if it was going to be a certain century and the man who you would
00:32:40least expect to be bowling the first over after lunch has done the job for England.
00:32:47Tendulkar took an age at the crease. I don't think it was descent. I think he just was dumbfounded.
00:32:58So it seems is Hawkeye.
00:32:59Hawkeye. Simon Taffle, such an excellent umpire is the man who's given the decision.
00:33:07It's Kostendulkar. The hundred he badly wanted here. He's worked incredibly
00:33:12hard for his runs. 91 he made. 342 for four now India.
00:33:21Four. Wonderful four.
00:33:32First stroke of authority from VVS Luxman and it was a gem.
00:33:40I mean they're stopping that either. Collingwood might just to take a bow I think after this over.
00:33:47He's bowled since lunch but a couple of loose balls have allowed Luxman to branch out.
00:33:57Well we've seen this all day. It's never stopped for Ryan Sidebottom. Yep, shake of the head.
00:34:03What can I do about it? Nothing. Just keep bowling the same way and just hope it changes.
00:34:08Somebody nicks it.
00:34:22Oh my goodness. Well all that playing and missing and those edges and then suddenly
00:34:28Jimmy Anderson strangled Ganguly down the leg side. Really looks a quite innocuous little
00:34:35swing ball down leg side. Ganguly doesn't think he hit it. Same umpire Tauflo gave
00:34:40Tendulkar out and he didn't look out. Now did he nick this or not? Did it brush the bat?
00:34:48Doesn't look so. If it was a fine one it was very very fine indeed. But England don't care.
00:34:56They've got Tendulkar back in the hutch. They've got Ganguly as well and he's cross. 409 for five.
00:35:05Oh no sign of a disruption on the line.
00:35:13This is when the commentator comes into play. So Ganguly seems to be justified in his disappointment.
00:35:22Oh is that out? That's out. Oh and that's Ryan's side bottom goes mad. He's bowled all day.
00:35:35Absolutely fantastic and finally he's so excited. You'd think it was his only weekend in test match
00:35:42cricket. This is a beauty again. Just keeps on going. Yes. Don't he keeps on walking to the
00:35:50dressing room. He's out for five. Ryan's absolutely what a great scenes there for a young
00:35:58man who's given everything. His commitments never wavered all day. India lead by 216 and it's 414 for six.
00:36:14Gorgeous shot that was. What a shot from Laxman.
00:36:17There was nothing really that wrong with the ball from Anderson. It was on about middle
00:36:21of the leg stump. It was on a pretty good length. He's just leaving it away of his hip for four.
00:36:36Oh well. Oh dear. Nothing really has gone right for England today and that
00:36:41gifts VVS Laxman composed a very assured fifth. It's taken him
00:36:47quite a while. It's taken him over two hours but it's been a very attractive innings.
00:36:59Oh good shot. Kumble finally latches on to one.
00:37:05He plays a wonderful cover drive.
00:37:11Oh that's a good shot. That's Kumble just opening the face.
00:37:17Nicely played like any quality batsman that. 50 partnership as well.
00:37:28Out. Not difficult that. Short, wide, bouncing a little bit. That's what deceived Laxman.
00:37:36It looked for all the world. A straightforward ball to
00:37:39cut for four and he's nicked it straight to the keeper.
00:37:44Enormous credit to Chris Trent that he's in his 38th over given just 70 runs away.
00:37:50He's earned his second wicket and this must be heartening for England on a day of
00:37:55much that has been disheartening. VVS Laxman a nice 54 from him. It'll help him with the
00:38:02confidence for the rest of the summer here in England. India's lead 266. They're 464 for seven.
00:38:13Oh dear. Something going on there. Zaheer Khan's not impressed. It looks as if Kevin
00:38:17Peterson said something to him. The umpires are coming across.
00:38:22Oh no. Something's happened. Definitely something's been said.
00:38:27It wasn't me he's saying. Something was said that Zaheer Khan didn't like and Kevin Peterson says
00:38:33wasn't me.
00:38:43Oh that's out as well. Well bowled. Beautifully bowled.
00:38:46Tremblake got it perfect. Just outside of Stump.
00:38:52If you watch carefully here he sort of feels for it doesn't he. Beautifully bowled.
00:38:58Cumberley gone for a very nice and effective 30. 473 for eight and the lead is 275.
00:39:05He's given him. He's given him at last. They've been appealing for LBWs.
00:39:10And Monty's got another. Well bowled. RP Singh. LBW. Panisar for nought.
00:39:18Oh dear. Something's happened. Definitely something's happened.
00:39:22He's given him. He's given him at last. They've been appealing for LBWs.
00:39:26And Monty's got another. Well bowled. RP Singh. LBW. Panisar for nought.
00:39:36That's out you'd have to say wouldn't you.
00:39:42RP Singh on his way. It's 474 for nine.
00:39:44Close. Very close. LBW. Innings over. And a joyous Monty Panisar has finished the job.
00:40:00None of the Indians managing to go on to make the hundred they so craved. Though I think
00:40:04everybody was pleased with Sachin Tendulkar's 91 and Sourav Ganguly's 79. Good returns to form
00:40:10there. 481 the final score. All the England bowlers can be proud of their work. A wicket
00:40:15each for side bottom Anderson and Collingwood. Three for Chris Tremblett and four in the end
00:40:20for Monty Panisar. The lead then for India 283. And England with a tricky 16 overs to negotiate
00:40:26this evening. There's no doubt the linchpin of that big Indian total was Sachin Tendulkar
00:40:32who after a couple of relative failures at Lords made a composed 91 here. Despite being rudely
00:40:38denied his hundred by that LBW decision there was a satisfaction on his face after his innings
00:40:42today. The hallmark of his batting is his defense. It's very compact. Nice smooth footwork. A low
00:40:49backlift and offering the full face of the bat to the ball with quite a low grip on the bat but
00:40:54a delicate grip. And he allows the ball to come right on to him rather than committing himself
00:40:58too early. Nimble on the back foot. Almost balletic in some of his footwork. He's very
00:41:03fastidious about his equipment. Checking the edge and the bow of his bat and fussing about to do
00:41:09some gardening to make sure the pitch is totally to his satisfaction. Inevitable bit of fidgeting
00:41:14of his equipment to ensure he's comfortable at the crease. And just notice here after he leaves
00:41:19this one from Ryan Sidebottom he rehearses the leave again and his footwork. He's always planning
00:41:24his innings and rehearsing how he can bat against particular bowlers and what the scoring option
00:41:29should be. There's a deftness about his run making. That was a nice wristy little tuck away
00:41:34to take his run scoring past 11,000 in Test cricket. Third in the all-time list and only
00:41:40887 behind Brian Lara with 3,700. Whereas Lara destroys bowling attacks lashing the ball to the
00:41:51boundary with a massive backlift and expansive follow through. Tendulkar dissects them like a
00:41:58scientist. A low backlift laser guiding the ball into the gaps where he wants to.
00:42:05There's a balance and poise and skill that has brought him a record 76 international hundreds.
00:42:12As England come out to bat a second time around they need to demonstrate some of his patience
00:42:16and dedication to try and save the game.
00:42:28No stopping that. A lot of leg glances have gone for four in this game.
00:42:33Runs for Andrew Strauss. Taken him 13 balls to get off the mark. Lovely evening here in Trentbridge.
00:42:55Well that's a nice shot. Yeah didn't try to hit it too hard Andrew Strauss and he's actually
00:43:01going to get four for it. That's the way to play against a new ball.
00:43:10More runs here for Andrew Strauss.
00:43:15And a sensible boot from Zahir Khan.
00:43:21And Sourav Ganguly joins me now. Well done. Very good day for you guys. Yeah we're in a good
00:43:26position in this test match. Two more days to go. We're about 282 90 ahead. We're in a good position.
00:43:32I guess you realized straight after Lords there was a lot to be done if you were to get into this
00:43:36series. Yes exactly. We knew that the batting had to fire but we also at the back of our mind
00:43:42we knew that we've done well in these conditions. Obviously Lords was the first test where the ball
00:43:47swung around a bit. We were lucky to win the toss and get them out for 190. It did a bit on the
00:43:52first day. Yeah we're in a good position. Do you think that your experience of these conditions
00:43:57has helped the younger members of the team and helped your position in this match? Yes it does.
00:44:01You know you pass on your knowledge to the others but at the end of the day they have to do it.
00:44:05There's a lot of talent in the dressing room and Dinesh Karthik, Jaffer, Dhoni, these young boys
00:44:10Sureshan. They're immensely talented and I know it's not just the knowledge but it's their ability
00:44:16to adapt to conditions which has helped. Now what about the umpires today? Any problems or one or
00:44:20two wrong decisions weren't there? It happens in sport. I hope if you go our way in the next
00:44:26two days we'll be happy. A reminder of the game after three days playing in 198 and 43 for now
00:44:32we get India 481. That's a lead of 240 over England who are going to have to fight like heck to save
00:44:40this game.
00:45:00It's very very close to ABW. It just looked all wrong from Alistair Cooke's perspective.
00:45:07It's a perfect start as far as India can turn. Zaheer Khan has swung the ball this morning.
00:45:14This time he started it nice and straight going to hold its line and for once Cooke
00:45:19caught fairly static. I'm afraid that's out.
00:45:27Terrific performance from this man swinging the ball away and then getting one to go straight on
00:45:32and trap Alistair Cooke. He's a classy cricketer so is Cooke mind you but today he's gone for 23.
00:45:38It's 49 for one. Oh well bowled. I know it's driven nicely for four but that's what you've
00:45:46got to do as a swing bowler. Lovely shot from Michael Vaughan but you've got to tease them a bit.
00:45:56Oh that's finding the gap quite nicely.
00:45:59Just frees up Michael Vaughan's mind. He strikes me as a type of batsman who likes to
00:46:05write the script largely on his own terms. He's had to struggle this morning. 11 or 45 balls
00:46:10but it's that sort of day and that sort of innings required.
00:46:17Good driving. Very good driving from Michael Vaughan. Full face of the bat.
00:46:28Great shot by Michael Vaughan. Beautifully clipped away off his pad to bring up the 100
00:46:35for England. This is a fine rear guard action by England. Vaughan the less fluent of the pair
00:46:43but you can see the determination in his eyes.
00:46:47Sachin Tendulkar brought into the attack just to try and lure a wicket.
00:46:52Oh that's a moon ball from Tendulkar. Goodness me a hand grenade.
00:46:59Swatted away for four by Andrew Strauss who probably quite enjoyed getting that.
00:47:11Very nicely played 50 by Andrew Strauss. He's weathered the problems in the first hour and
00:47:16also his own mental state. Failure in the first innings and that really is a creditable performance.
00:47:21That's mind over matter from Andrew Strauss.
00:47:37Well that brings Michael Vaughan to 5,000 test runs. A major landmark.
00:47:43He's 17th on the all-time England run makers list.
00:47:52Out, out, out. What an awful shot straight after lunch. Andrew Strauss what are you doing?
00:48:01No footwork just a waft at a wide. Loosener almost.
00:48:08Well he's absolutely distraught is Strauss. I don't think he can look at this.
00:48:13He better not see this replay. Look at that. What is he doing? After getting a half century
00:48:19England in a good position. All they had to do is get a start again
00:48:25but he's gone to Zaheer for 55 and it's 130 for two.
00:48:33Oh nice late cut. Lovely, lovely. Oh that's quality. Michael Vaughan at his best.
00:48:43What a good shot. That was quite a good ball there from Gumbly and Peterson.
00:48:49He's just clipped it wide of mid-on as if it was a little off spinner.
00:48:59Shot. Michael Vaughan. Two runs here takes him to 50. They run hard they might get three.
00:49:08Well played. A very well constructed innings by the England captain.
00:49:19No wonder his teammates are clapping. That's exactly what England needed.
00:49:31Go fetch that. It's almost arrogant in its execution.
00:49:38Is that a thin scratch? Definitely a noise. A whoosh of air of the bat.
00:49:46Does RP Singh definitely think he's got his man? I think he does.
00:49:51Oh he is livid.
00:49:56RP Singh is spitting.
00:50:02Just the skinniest faintest touch perhaps.
00:50:07Oh now then. What a reply.
00:50:13What bowling by RP Singh. Kevin Peterson all but walked for an LBW.
00:50:24That is brilliant cricket from India. Well that was plump. Kevin Peterson set off walking. He
00:50:30didn't wait for the umpire. He's round the wickie. Pads up. No shot. Oh you've got to give that.
00:50:38That's as plumb as it gets for not playing a shot. Thoroughly deserved as well by the bowler.
00:50:44I'm reasonably confident. Kevin Peterson nicked the ball before. Very fine one.
00:50:51Boy that's a big wickie. 175 for three now. An England trail by 108.
00:51:00Not all that well controlled from Collingwood but he gets four nevertheless. Gully
00:51:13was in with a shot for a moment. Dinesh Kartik is a little man position there.
00:51:23Played one of these earlier Michael Vaughan. He picks length so quickly
00:51:27and uses an El Cumbre's pace to its maximum effect.
00:51:33Why do they bowl on Collingwood's legs? Everybody knows that if you keep bowling
00:51:38there he's going to smack you round the park and that's four anyway.
00:51:50Oh glorious stroke. That is the very very best of Michael Vaughan.
00:51:57Oh yes.
00:52:15What a lovely way to go to all wonderful hundred.
00:52:18It's always a pleasure to watch Michael Vaughan back but today he's turning what seemed a lost
00:52:28cause into potentially rather an exciting cause. Right here we go then. Another crucial point
00:52:35in this match. The second new ball has been taken by Raoul Dravid and look at this. Look at this.
00:52:42It's such an important point in the match that Dravid has called for a little huddle to re-emphasize
00:52:47the significance of the situation.
00:52:57Nice. The placement was good and the lateness of the shot.
00:53:03Just waited until the ball swung into him did Collingwood. The wonderful outcome.
00:53:09More runs. More runs. This partnership is growing in strength. Will it get to the boundary? Does it
00:53:21have the legs? It should. Yes it does. Now England are into the lead by four.
00:53:27The disappointment is obvious. England could ill afford this against this second new ball
00:53:36and it's just rolled off the pipe and onto the stumps.
00:53:41It was a real strangle. In fact, a very unlikely way for Vaughan to get out.
00:53:45It didn't look as if he was going to get to the boundary.
00:53:49It was a real strangle. In fact, a very unlikely way for Vaughan to get out.
00:53:55It didn't look as if he was going to get in any trouble against any bowler today.
00:54:00He's played immaculately and that really is a little injustice really. Getting across his
00:54:05stumps and the ball getting tangled up in his pad and his glove and just falling onto the stumps.
00:54:10Dismay for the England captain after a really majestic display. England only four ahead now.
00:54:18As Vaughan goes for 124.
00:54:27Well, what a situation for Ian Bell to come in. At least he's had a few hours now to recover from
00:54:33an experience he had in the nets this morning. Just being hit, ducking into a short one from
00:54:38one of the young net bowlers. Just getting a bit of physio there to check that he can actually
00:54:43see clearly.
00:55:02There's a real strut and there's a continual threat about Zaheer Khan's bowling today.
00:55:07Really, you could say he deserves the rewards he's got. He's been there
00:55:11or thereabouts consistently. That was an LBW that Simon Touthill gave him, which was fair
00:55:16enough Hawkeye said. And Ian Bell who looked a little bit shell-shocked when he got out there
00:55:21after that bang on the head he got in the nets this morning. He's making a rather sad exit.
00:55:25Two ball duck. England 287 for five.
00:55:33Oh, he's bowled him well. Really the change of guard Matt Pryor was trying to use there. He was
00:55:39standing right across on off stump to try and counter R.P. Singh's. But it got him in a terrible
00:55:43tangle and that's another big blow for India. Well bowled by R.P. Singh knocking over
00:55:48Matt Pryor comprehensively. Pryor goes for seven. Three hundred and four for six.
00:55:58He's coming very wide of the crease R.P. Singh, which allows
00:56:02the angle for Collingwood to play shots like that. And that brings up his 50.
00:56:09That one is a lovely low catch by Dinesh Kartik.
00:56:19What good cricket Zaheer Khan does for Paul Collingwood. Is that the end of England's
00:56:26resistance? He leaves England 323 for seven and only a lead of 40.
00:56:31Oh, caught it in the end. Wonderful juggle. Chris Tremblett looking to go over the top,
00:56:45which is fair enough. I wouldn't criticize him for that. Perishes. England eight down.
00:56:48The lead just 46, Geoffrey. Yeah, it's all happening now. It's happening quickly for India.
00:57:01What a stroke. Thrashed it away.
00:57:07Monty's the hero once more. 50 lead now for England.
00:57:16Oh, that's out surely.
00:57:22Dinesh Kartik takes the catch. Monty perishes. He rather flatters to deceive with the bat as
00:57:29the old boy. Tiddy. He made four. 50 in front England. Nine down. There is time this evening
00:57:38to win this game. Well, that's it. Anil Kumble finishes the innings. It isn't to be Zaheer Khan.
00:57:52He won't get that coveted tenfer. Michael Vaughan, the man for England. His unlucky dismissal
00:58:00turned the whole day's play. Had he hung on in there? Who knows? Paul Collingwood, too,
00:58:04was 63 and Andrew Strathmore, 55, did their bit. But the story is about Zaheer Khan, five for 75
00:58:11and Anil Kumble, three for 104 to go with the two that were captured by RPC.
00:58:1573 needed for India to win the test. Dinesh Kartik on strike to James Anderson.
00:58:29Excellent start from Anderson.
00:58:36Whoa, that's a serious blow, I think. I think Alistair Cook has been hit in midships.
00:58:45And that races away to the boundary. But it was an extraordinary risk to take off the last ball
00:58:56of the day's play. India are not going to claim the extra time that's available to them this
00:59:02evening. Therefore, the umpires whip off the bales and Michael Vaughan will take his men in knowing
00:59:08that tomorrow surely can only bring them defeat. Here are the bare facts. England 198 and 355 all
00:59:16out. India 481 and 10 for no wicket. They need just 63 with all their second innings wickets in hand
00:59:23to win this test match.
00:59:38No, no, no, no. That's well played. It's too short, just stayed on top of the bounce and just cuffed it.
00:59:48First four of the morning and it was an easy one.
00:59:53Good shot. Swung late but he played it close to his part and it's rocketed off for four.
00:59:59You see, he's bowled everything wide of off still. It was Michael Vaughan giving him a seven and two
01:00:04field. So he's got to air on the offside and eventually he's bowled a long hop that's got
01:00:09smacked away. And four more. Ah, they're coming to rush now. Just 32 for India to win it.
01:00:22Ah, they're coming to rush now. Just 32 for India to win it.
01:00:37That one is out.
01:00:41No problem for Kevin Peterson. Chris Tremlett deservedly has a wicket.
01:00:46Nazeem Jaffer will bring his captain in, Rail Dravid, which won't
01:00:51please Rail Dravid one bit, not with 26 to win the game.
01:00:56Yes, it was the movement just making him fetch it in the end from quite wide outside the off stump
01:01:02getting the top edge. Good little moral victory there for Chris Tremlett over one of the Indian
01:01:07openers. 47 for one India.
01:01:20Oh, well bowled. Oh, wasn't that a fantastic delivery to get out to one of those.
01:01:26There's no shame in that. That is an absolute brute of a ball as well. The bounce and it swung
01:01:31away and seemed away. Oh, that is up there with anything from Ambrose and Bishop and Garner and
01:01:40McGrath and that's the sort of bowler that Tremlett should aspire to be. Fantastic stuff. Even Jeffrey's
01:01:48quivering at the thought of batting against that. Partick made 22. It's 55 for two and there's 18
01:01:53more to win. Safe. A thrash and if you're going to thrash you might as well really go
01:02:03as Rail Dravid did. Now just 12 to win.
01:02:09Out. Tendulkar's out. Brilliant cricket by England. What about that? The trap was set
01:02:17and everything worked perfectly. Well, it's an old-fashioned position, old squarish late
01:02:22gully. You know, bowls it into the body. You have to play and normally there's a bat and pad square
01:02:27so you actually as Tendulkar plays it behind but this time they've got a man there and it's neatly
01:02:34caught but it's Tremlett who's bowling has been exceptional. Tendulkar out for one. 62 for three
01:02:41and still 11 needed to win. Oh, and that was probably a chance too.
01:02:53It goes for four.
01:03:01Four needed then. Oh, unlucky Chris Tremlett. India win the test match. Not quite in the style
01:03:10they might have hoped to do so. Delight on that dressing room balcony. Four buys does the trick
01:03:17for Rail Dravid and his men. Sourav Ganguly is out there with him, the previous captain.
01:03:26That is India's fifth victory on English soil. They've won
01:03:29two series here before. They're now excellently placed to win a third.
01:03:36It was Dinesh Kartik and Wazim Jaffer who did the bulk of the work. By the time they departed
01:03:41the victory was all but India's. Mind you, in the face of Chris Tremlett they had a tough job.
01:03:46Three for twelve from seven overs and one ball. That was quite dramatic from Tremlett and hugely
01:03:51promising for the future. England 198 and 355. India 481 and 73 for three. Winning the test match
01:03:59by seven wickets. I've got Michael Vaughan, the England captain, with me taking this thing right
01:04:04back to the start. A shocker of a toss to lose. Yeah, it'd been a nice one to win. You know,
01:04:10I think it did have an effect but saying that I think we could have probably showed a little
01:04:13bit more skill on that first day. If we'd have got 250-260, you know, and maybe 60 or 70 more
01:04:18runs in the second innings, I'd like to have seen the Indians chase 180-200 on the last day on that
01:04:23kind of pitch. But it wasn't a B, we didn't. They bowled very well. Zaheer Khan was excellent
01:04:27throughout. Srinath and RP Singh obviously backed him up as well and they made it very difficult
01:04:32when the ball's swinging and it has done for the whole of the game. You know, you have to be quite
01:04:36skilled as a batsman to get through tough periods and they put all our batsmen under a lot of
01:04:41pressure and full credit for them. Immaculate as Michael Vaughan's second inning century was,
01:04:45it wasn't enough to make amends for England's moderate batting during the match, particularly
01:04:50in the first innings. The real architects of victory were India's fast left-arm seam bowlers,
01:04:55spearheaded by Zaheer Khan, the man of the match, and his able deputy, RP Singh, who shared 13
01:05:00wickets in the match between them. The rot began in the third over of the match when Andrew Strauss
01:05:05played a loose drive to Zaheer, an edge to slip. Strauss clearly thought this was a half volley
01:05:10that needed driving but actually it was a length ball. The red dot would have been where a half
01:05:14volley was. It was a shorter ball than that and it swung a little bit to take the edge. In the second
01:05:19inning, Strauss had similar problems against Zaheer, this time looking to cut and leaning back on the
01:05:25shot and with his weight away from the ball and quite a bit of gap between his body and the bat
01:05:30and he got another little edge through to the keeper.
01:05:33His opening partner, Alistair Cooke, had the opposite problem, getting too far across
01:05:37to Zaheer to be LBW in the second innings. You can see his head here, too far across
01:05:42to the offside. The ball is around middle and off and his head is well outside off stump
01:05:46and he's looking to try and hit it through mid-on. He's been out LBW all four times in this series
01:05:52but the real problems came when Zaheer went round the wicket to the right-handers.
01:05:56It's a very difficult angle to deal with, wide on the crease with the ball angling towards the
01:06:01wicket. You can't leave a delivery like that but Zaheer is able to get the ball to straighten
01:06:05and go towards the slips. Vaughan trying to play as late as possible getting the edge.
01:06:08It's a mirror image of how Flintoff kept getting Australian left-handers out in the ashes of 2005.
01:06:15Here's Zaheer again to Vaughan in the second innings, going past the outside edge with that
01:06:19wide angle and then making the ball straight to the left-handers.
01:06:22Second innings going past the outside edge with that wide angle and then making the ball swing
01:06:26towards the slips. You can't leave it though because he does bring the odd one back through
01:06:30the gate. The difficulty with playing Zaheer is there's no difference between those two deliveries
01:06:36in release. Exactly the same. The only difference is in the shine. The shiny side on the right
01:06:41makes the ball curve away from the right-handers. The shiny side on the left makes it curve in but
01:06:47the batsman can't detect that from 22 yards away and that's a typical Zaheer dismissal in this
01:06:53match. Ian Bell playing for the ball to come in and it straightens and hits about middle enough.
01:06:58A similar sort of delivery to what Wozniak used to produce with regularity. He was well supported
01:07:03Zaheer by RP Singh with some late swing there to Kevin Peterson that he didn't pick up and you see
01:07:09Matt Pryor standing on off stump trying to counter it but it still gets straight through the gate
01:07:14clean bowling. It was an outstanding performance by the Indian bowlers only marred by this incident
01:07:21when Srisanth barged Michael Vaughan. It cost him 50% of his match fee. In fact it was a confrontational
01:07:27match all round with lots of slightly unnecessary verbals from England. Maybe they'd have been better
01:07:31off concentrating on their job rather than giving the Indians advice. It certainly didn't put Zaheer
01:07:36off his game and when he slightly fortuitously took this big wicket of Vaughan in the second
01:07:41innings he knew that victory was within India's grasp. For some of these boys this is their first
01:07:50experience of conditions like this you know an opportunity where the ball swings gives them a
01:07:54chance throughout the day. They don't experience these sort of conditions in India. It's you know
01:07:58the first time for some of them to be bowling long spells for you know being you know being
01:08:03for them to be critical parts of a game. You know the seamers are the ones who are going to
01:08:07win us matches here. It's not us spinners traditionally play in India even in their
01:08:11first class teams sometimes it's the spinners who play a more dominating role. So for these guys to
01:08:15stand up and you know be counted and it's a new experience for them and I think they're
01:08:19crediting themselves.
