Pakistan launched missiles and drones targeting the Golden Temple in Amritsar following India’s strikes on nine terror camp locations. According to Major General Kartik C. Seshadri, GOC of the 15th Infantry Division, the Indian Army's air defence units, equipped with Akash missiles and L-70 guns, successfully intercepted and neutralised all incoming threats, preventing any damage to the sacred site.

00:00And we're getting some more breaking news regarding Operation Sindhur.
00:10India's air defence saved Amritsar.
00:13Akash missiles, L-70 guns are the ones which saved Golden Temple in Amritsar.
00:19They stood as guards, saved the Punjab cities from the Pakistani missiles and drones
00:25which were all brought down by the Indian air defence system.
00:29This is India's biggest win in the skies.
00:32Akash Teer air defence proves it's a metal and our iron dome foiled each Pakistani projectile.
00:41So India's air defence system thwarted all the Pakistani drones and missiles that were directed towards Punjab cities.
00:49Akash missiles and L-70 guns were the ones that saved the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
00:56They stood as guards and saved the Punjab cities from the Pakistani missiles and drones.
01:02The Parisians and L-70 guns were the ones saying that the night of the 7th of May.
01:06We made the family's knowledge that the world of any object of that is worthy,
01:10and only the لاfant of any object of a war and oses,
01:12and the civil society as well as the territory of the Palestine.
01:17At this point, the Golden Temple was the most important thing.
01:21temple was the most important thing. We had a good idea that golden temple on the
01:28world will be a drone and missile missile. So we had a direct direct or even a
01:34direct air defense to implement and run-nitin temple on the 4th floor of air defense.
01:41This is the 8th May of the morning.
02:11My colleague Asim Basi is now joining us with more details on this.
02:15Asim, India's air defence is the one that saved Amritsar as well as other Punjab cities.
02:20But help us understand how exactly the Akash missiles and L-70 guns guarded and saved the Golden Temple as well as the Punjabi cities.
02:41And they even targeted the Golden Temple. That's what the Indian Army soldiers tell.
02:45But the Indian defence system, air defence was very, very alert.
02:48And as soon as the Pakistani drones and the missiles came into the airspace of India, they were destroyed.
02:55But definitely this shows the desperation of Pakistan that it was targeting civilian areas.
02:59It was so bamboozled by the Indian attack that it never spared the civil areas as well.
03:04But they were all shot down by the Indian Army and the troops who were alert, on a very, very high alert.
03:10And during the Operation Sindhur, because India specifically targeted the terror networks.
03:15But Pakistan was desperate to target civil areas, especially the attack.
03:20They wanted to target the Gurudwara, which has a great, great piousness.
03:26And it has world belief all over.
03:28And it is vastly visited by people from all over.
03:31But Indian troops were very alert and gunned down every kind of mission.
03:35Please stay with us. We are now being joined by the designer of Aakash Missile, Pralad Ramo Rao.
03:41Mr. Ramo Rao, a very good morning to you.
03:44Aakash Missile and the efficiency of L-70 guns are being lauded.
03:48In fact, this is being seen as India's biggest win as it thwarted all the Pakistani missiles and drones.
03:55Yes, yes.
03:59Hello?
04:00Yes, sir. How do you feel about it?
04:03Yeah, yeah. See, we have designed the complete missile system.
04:08We made fully automatic, fully high speed, fully maneuvering missiles.
04:12And also with very high probability of destroying the enemy target.
04:18So that no enemy target, whether it's an unmanned air vehicle or a manned vehicle or a aircraft, a fighter,
04:25or it is a helicopter, or it is a simple drone.
04:32Anything trying to cross the foreign boundary and enter Indian boundary is prevented.
04:40It's like a big wall, you know, and everything automatic.
04:44Anything comes in the sky above the horizon, the system is capable of recognizing,
04:52finding out which is the enemy, and prepare the missile ready to fire.
04:57And then at the appropriate time, the missile gets launched automatically.
05:01Also, sir, how does the Akash missile system adapt to modern threats like low-flying drones and precision-guided missiles?
05:10See, whatever is flying, the radar system and the missile system does not differentiate.
05:17If anything is in the air, across our border, across our border, up to 100 km, anything in the air,
05:26it will immediately recognize the radar is recognized.
05:28And then there is a mechanism to find out whether it is a friendly aircraft or an enemy aircraft.
05:34Once that is done, then the missile gets ready to repair,
05:38and then it will tell the commander, it will give a message,
05:42that they are ready to go.
05:43Commander has to simply say, go, finish.
05:45Then everything will become automatic.
05:47Mr. Ramana, also, what lessons were learned from this recent operation, Sindhu,
05:53that is going to shape the future development of the Indian air defense system?
05:57The lesson India has learned, not only me, the whole country has learned it.
06:03We have trust and faith in Indian youth, Indian capability, Indian industry, Indian academy,
06:10and Indian R&D people.
06:13Have a trust and faith.
06:14And we are able to make an India product without any input from other countries,
06:20and fabricate in India, produce in India, give it to our Indian armed forces.
06:25They are very competent to operate it and use it.
06:28So everything is made in India, and we are globally now recognized that we have Atmanir Bharata stamp on our head.
06:38Absolutely.
06:39Mr. Prilad Ramana, were there any challenges that you faced during the designing phase of the Akash missile?
06:45The challenges are, see, first time India made a full design system, full.
06:52Earlier, we used to make police and parks.
06:54First time India made a design system, young people, Dr. Kalam had picked up some 50 young scientists,
07:01and we have to work with 10 to 12 laboratories all over the country.
07:05So the big challenge to solve technical problems, managerial problems, cultural problems across the country,
07:13and also industry-related issues.
07:15There are challenges every step, and we have done more than 60 flight trials to take it to a stage where you can tell the army,
07:23and therefore, it is ready for deployment, please take it and accept it.
07:28So we had a number of challenges, but good that all the young people we had,
07:34more came, all the challenges, and finally kept it ready for the user to accept it.
07:41And are there any upgrades or future versions of the Akash missile that are in pipeline?
07:47See, any missile system, anywhere in the world, the missile system has a life of 30 to 40 years.
07:55So you have to compassionately keep upgrading every few years,
07:59so that you catch up with the new science, new material, new technology, new software,
08:04and new strategies and tactics.
08:08It is compulsory, and everybody does, and we do, along with the user, along with the industry.
08:14The industry, user, DRDO, jointly will go ahead with the product improvement over its lifetime.
08:22Also, Mr. Ramarau, the way India thwarted all the Pakistani missiles and drone,
08:28it is now being said that India now has the Iron Dome of the East.
08:33Yeah.
08:35Yeah.
08:36One way of defining the dome, we did not call it Iron Dome.
08:40It is a very strong fortress we have built along the border,
08:44fortress, long border.
08:46Nothing can come across the foreign border to Indian nation.
08:50Mr. Ramarau, help us understand how quickly can the Akash system be deployed
08:57and, you know, in response to a developing aerial threat?
09:02No, once the systems are kept in the border,
09:06it takes only seconds to be ready for launch.
09:11The system takes only seconds once you are ready for launch.
09:16It should be deployed in the area where you want to defend the system.
09:20Right.
09:23So, Prahlad Ramarau is with us, who is the designer of Akash missile.
09:28And we just learned that India's air defense system is the one that saved all the bordering cities.
09:36And, Mr. Ramarau, also tell us about your experience while designing the Akash missile,
09:44which is now being seen as the hero of the Operation Sindhur that, you know,
09:49saved and guarded all the bordering cities of India in a crucial mission.
09:53What we did there, for instance, Mr. Saksas,
09:58Dr. Kalamara, you know, he was a project director in ISRO,
10:03and he had come to DRDO.
10:06So, he had got a very nice experience as a project director.
10:10What is an ideal template for a project to be handled?
10:17Was it management by a project director?
10:18So, fortunately, I was directly under him.
10:22So, he gave a template and advised, mentored me on how to handle the project challenges.
10:30The project is full of challenges.
10:32And I was a young, young guy, so I needed all the guidance and mentoring by Dr. Kalam.
10:38And that guideline, what he has mentored in the Indian,
10:42indoctrinated into me, gave a very good support for me to make this access.
10:48Mr. Prilad Ramarau, thank you so much for speaking to India today
10:51and for sharing your experience while designing the Akash missile,
10:56the hero of Operation Sindhur that successfully guarded all the bordering cities
11:01and also thwarted all the missiles and drones that were directed towards the Indian cities.
11:06We are also now being joined by BJP's Manjinder Sirsa.
11:10Sir, a very good morning to you.
11:12Indian air defense system is being lauded and for obvious reasons,
11:16as we were successful in thwarting all the Pakistani missiles and drones
11:23that were directed specifically towards the Punjabi cities
11:26that also included Amritsar and also Golden Temple.
11:31And the Akash missile and L-70 guns played an important role in this.
11:37How do you see this?
11:38You see, this is nothing new.
11:41Aisah, kuch nii hai ki ki ki ki paili bar Pakistan ne koshish kari hai.
11:44In fact, this time, jalandar mein ho ho, yaa, pathan koat ho, ambitsar ho,
11:50every day we have tried.
11:51But, gurdwara sahib jo hai, wo, unke target paili se bhi ra hai hunne.
11:57Aap dekhye ki, aaj humare gurdwara joh paakistan mein hai,
12:01unme se kafi gurdwari jo hai, humare hath mein hai hi nahi.
12:03Here haa pe kuch na kuch ho, aapna bina chukai hai.
12:07And aak jagat ho, mein dekh raa tha, gurdwari ke anndar,
12:09us ko, niče markete bina ka, kye ki tak shraap ke khol diya.
12:13And, gurdwara sahib, kertarpur sahib tha,
12:16joh, humesee dhu klimiter dur hai, humenei nahi dhya gurdwara.
12:19And, so, yaa, 10,11, sikh te,
12:21Pakistan mein, unko convert karke,
12:23aaj, 8,000 sikh bachei hai, wohaan pe.
12:25To, ya challenge to hai,
12:26or Pakistan ki, hameseh se,
12:29ya koishish leheti hai,
12:30ki ho, panjab pe pepele a痛e ak karui kiunki
12:32usko pate ha ki aaran sichh ho, ko kisi tricke de moralize karenge,
12:35to, unki lada hai rahsaan gogi.
12:37Lekin, asa ham ke liye sambal nahi hai.
12:39Our hier defence ne bhi yasab dhyaam mi rukha Nashua tha,
12:41and lagataar,
12:42aapna agar daikau,
12:44Gurdwara,
12:45Drabar sahab, joh,
12:47suri harmandar sahib,
12:48uski srih kachshya ke behe,
12:50lagataar hawaan mei jhajtae,
12:52and ya tai taa ki, kisip ho,
12:53surto mei jo bhi ukooshish karren go,
12:55So it's going to be a good job and it's going to be a good job.
12:58Right. Mr. Sirsa also, Pakistan targeting the holiest Sikh shrine that is the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
13:06What's this expected?
13:08First of all, it's not the holiest word for them.
13:12Those who are cutted there are Islamists, they don't believe that it's another religion.
13:16They don't believe in their own religion.
13:20They don't believe in their own religion.
13:25But the purpose of this is that they don't believe in their own religion.
13:29They don't believe in their own religion.
13:33Since Pakistan was created, it was the same.
13:37In the 70s, in the 80s, in the 90s,
13:39we tried to make the drug war.
13:41We tried to make the drug war.
13:44I saw that this time they were playing video that they will stay in Punjab.
13:48They will stay in Punjab.
13:49They will go with Punjab.
13:51They will go with Punjab.
13:52They will stay in Punjab.
13:53This is the propaganda and the human rights of them.
13:57So it's the only thing that they will stay.
13:59But they will never work in their own religion.
14:02They will never work in their own religion.
14:03They will never work in a folk war,
14:16an expside, an exp civilians out their own religion into them.
14:21There areladers.
14:22You take them in many churches.
14:23Democrats, theymblycies, a men service are impacted by them.
14:27in America with possibilités.
