01:51think that's going to be able to make a difference in the early going in this
01:57one Big Josh the outdoorsman from the Pacific Northwest very strong obviously
02:09now let me ask you this why do the officials constantly allow Big Josh to
02:15wear those logger boots into a wrestling ring apparently they've been
02:20examined by the WCW championship committee and the board and deemed them
02:25to be illegal they may have had a little bit of a mending to the soul but it
02:29still would be rather tough I look he fell down I knew sooner or later he
02:36wouldn't be able to do that log roll right he doesn't care he's having a good
02:40time dismantling Tim Fry oh no he's going to do it again

17:24match and like I said sting has proven that he can beat Koloff in a standard
17:29wrestling match with rules and regulations he did it at the Clash of
17:32the Champions but he can't beat Koloff in a Russian chain match
17:38upon researching the situation we find that Koloff has yet to lose a Russian
17:45chain match at least we have not been able to find any documentation of that
17:50and the intense Russian nightmare with a Russian sickle

18:07be used at in Baltimore on pay-per-view tomorrow night that's my favorite thing

20:06just might be my friend you better be very very careful because if you say
20:09those kind of things on the hotline you might just get yanked off well when this
20:13company censors me for my First Amendment rights then it might be time
20:17for me to look elsewhere for employment anyway so anyway Paul just be that as it
20:21may I'm gonna say what I want to say I'm gonna say it on the hotline today if I'm
20:26fired for it well then fans you just know that my First Amendment rights have
20:30been violated that's the way I look at there's a lot of things going on here
20:34that the fans need to know about behind the scenes we're not allowed to say

20:42is certainly dominant here and he is I know going to be primed and ready for a
20:46tremendous matchup this coming Sunday night he and Luger were former tag team
20:53partners they were the former world tag team champions well Lex Luger continued
20:58to be the Minnesota Vikings the Detroit Bronx or the Denver Broncos of WCW can't
21:03win the big Barry Windham has been he's got great promise they said all he's got
21:07great potential Barry Windham is going to be a champion someday well for both
21:11those guys tomorrow night's the time to step to the front and and become a man
21:16so to speak and we'll see who will achieve their destiny tomorrow night and
21:20the only way you can see it fans is by calling your cup your cable company and

21:30that he has to use tomorrow night to become the next WCW heavyweight

22:56welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the power hour Jim Ross and Pauly Dangers
23:00they are back with you here last Saturday night history was made on world
23:03championship wrestling when Jim Hurd and the WCW board of directors made the
23:08announcement that nature boy Ric Flair was stripped of the world's heavyweight
23:12championship and it will be tomorrow night a new champion crowned the
23:17beginning of a new era the new champion will either be Lex Luger or Barry Windham
23:21now Paul we're gonna hear mr. Hurd statement in just a few moments but what
23:24are your thoughts about the stripping of flair and the naming of Wyndham as the
23:28opponent for Luger you see this is an unprecedented situation never before in
23:34world championship wrestling has the heavyweight championship of the world
23:37been vacated now Lex Luger is the number one contender and he deserves to be is
23:41the US heavyweight champion and Barry Wyndham is the number two contender
23:44we're not just gonna take the heavyweight champion of the world and
23:47hand it over to Lex Luger or to Barry Wyndham tomorrow night they fight it out
23:50and one man becomes the champion of the world we have some more comments to make
23:54about it but here's what Jim Hurd had to say about the situation thank you Jim
23:58Ross and hello wrestling fans my name is Jim Hurd and I'm the executive vice
24:02president of world championship wrestling I'm here to read a very
24:05important statement from the world championship wrestling board world
24:10championship wrestling is saddened to report that after extensive negotiations
24:15with nature boy Ric Flair stretching over the course of nearly one year the
24:19parties have been unable to arrive at a mutually satisfactory contractual
24:23relationship as a result the WCW board has decided that the best course of
24:29action for WCW and its fans is to declare the world championship title
24:34vacant and to determine a new champion at the Great American Bash July the 14th
24:40in Baltimore Lex Luger the number one contender and current United States
24:45champion will remain on the title card at the Great American Bash his opponent
24:50will be determined by the WCW board and I will be back later in this program
24:55with that decision on a personal note I want to take this opportunity to extend
25:01my best wishes to Ric Flair and wish him the best in the future he has been a
25:05great champion you know Paula took a lot of courage by Jim Hurd and WCW board
25:10directors to make that decision it's probably not the most popular decision
25:14in some circles but be that as it may tomorrow night's matchup will feature
25:18two great athletes one ranked number one one ranked number two then we will see
25:22a new champion crown it was billed as the legend versus the legacy but whose
25:25legacy is it Lex Luger's or Barry Wyndham's who will be the next heavyweight
25:30champion of the world we'll find out tomorrow night there's a special feature
25:34on both these athletes
25:37on July 14th at the Great American Bash in Baltimore there will be a new world
25:43championship wrestling heavyweight champion crown and on this historic
25:48occasion Lex Luger and Barry Wyndham have emerged to battle each other in
25:52what could be one of the greatest wrestling matches of all time Lex Luger
25:57with his granite chiseled physique along with his devastating array of power moves
26:02is now primed more than ever to take the heavyweight belt
26:13Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the match, the Total Package, Lex Luger!
26:29Yet Barry Wyndham who has always had incredible raw talent and some of the
26:34most brutal wrestling moves in all of the WCW is an extremely dangerous and
26:40unworthy opponent to the Total Package
26:55the shockwaves from this mother-of-all wrestling wars will be felt around the
27:00world as Lex Luger meets Barry Wyndham at the Great American Bash in Baltimore
27:07two tremendous athletes they were once the world tag team champions together
27:11they obviously had a parting of the way quite some time ago I think it's gonna
27:15be a tremendous matchup as a matter of fact tomorrow night on the wrestling
27:19hotline Lex Luger will be taking your calls live beginning at 7 o'clock
27:23Eastern Time with Lance Russell and Gordon Sully Gordon by the way is in
27:27Baltimore now I think it's gonna be a great matchup short preparation time for
27:32Luger short preparation time for Wyndham it's in the cage Wyndham has more
27:36experience I think Wyndham will be the next world's champion oh no doubt about
27:39it I mean hey taking nothing away from Lex Luger he's the United States
27:42heavyweight champion and he earned that title but he's stepping in the ring with
27:46Barry Wyndham a man who for years has always come up just like that when the
27:50champion was in trouble there was Barry Wyndham when Arne Anderson was in
27:53trouble there was Barry Wyndham and Barry Wyndham who has just eight days
27:57to prepare for this match tomorrow night becomes the next heavyweight champion of
28:01the world and the man he will face the United States heavyweight champion the
28:04total package Lex Luger is on his way to the ring
28:07it is set for one fall introducing first from Chicago Illinois weighing 292
28:15pounds he is the WCW United States United States heavyweight champion the
28:21total package Lex Luger
28:24he has had a hard time winning the big one according to some critics I know he
28:38I know he is concerned as anyone else about ridding himself of the image of
28:44not being able to win the big one I guess he knows how Fran Tarkington feels
28:49the former quarterback at the University of Georgia and of course the Minnesota
28:52Vikings who she who could never win the Super Bowl but Luger obviously has every
28:58physical attribute known to man except for one there's the strongest man in the
29:03world being the strong guys there's Bill Kazmaier he doesn't have one attribute
29:07he doesn't have a belt around his waist that said he's the heavyweight champion
29:12of the world but neither does anybody else for that matter that's true but
29:16tomorrow night Luger and Wyndham both enter the cage as contenders one man
29:20will walk out could be this man and it'll still be the US champion but one
29:25man will walk out as a loser and another man will walk out as a winner and that
29:28man will be the brand-new undisputed WCW heavyweight champion of the world you
29:35already heard one of my predictions I predicted Wyndham to beat Luger tomorrow
29:40night but you don't know why and I'll tell you that on the hotline wrestling
29:45hotline here today I'll tell me we're also going to be telling you about how I
29:50felt like this whole situation has been handled I've had some very candid
29:53conversations to many of the involved parties in the world heavyweight
29:58championship situation and I think you're going to be very very surprised
30:04that my hotline comments and I'm very serious if WCW management doesn't want
30:13me to express my first amendment right and they'll have to tell me because I'm
30:18going to lay it on the line on the hotline here today the fans the fans
30:21need to know what's going on this is what cost me my hotline better be
30:24careful there's the human torture rack Luger is in magnificent shape he is
30:32ready to fight for the match of his life can he achieve his destiny as we
30:36mentioned earlier it's applicable to Wyndham too greatness has been predicted
30:41for Wyndham which of these two supreme athletes will step to the front on
30:46pay-per-view this Sunday night at 7 o'clock
30:52Luger looks ready as we'll talk more about it right after this timeout

34:05Morton here's the thing I know how many people out there have been writing in
34:09letters to WCW for example the petitions for the yellow dog all that get well
34:14letters to Scott Steiner now all this hate mail to Richard Morton but he
34:18turned his back on all his friends and fans
34:23nice our Japanese arm drag by Richard Morton well this team of Morton and
34:29Taylor could be one of the unsung teams here in WCW in the early stages of their
34:39partnership near fall there but I think that they potentially have the ability
34:46to really be an outstanding combination well of course they do Richard Morton the
34:50most accomplished tag-team wrestler in world championship wrestling and Terrence
34:53Taylor the computerized wrestler for the 1990s coming together under the guidance
34:58of the York Foundation and hey big bad mr. Hughes is in their corner as well

38:39within 30 days and you must defend the world tag-team titles within 30 days of
38:45winning them and holding them you're going to have to be stripped of the
38:48titles sooner or later I know exactly when they're going to be stripped of the
38:51titles and I know what they're going to do with the championship belts as well
