00:00The 10th anniversary of the Star Property Real Estate Developer Awards, held on May 15th, saw a celebration unlike any past awards ceremonies.
00:11Group Chief Executive Officer Chan Seng Phat of Star Media Group said this year's awards took a unique twist by celebrating both current winners and revisiting past achievers.
00:21As part of this 10th anniversary celebration, Star Property undertook a special initiative to revisit past excellence award recipients, reaffirming their commitment, validating the promises they make and given due recognition to those who have stayed true to their original goals and visions.
00:48Chan said the initiative was made possible through the support of various industry organisations and associations, whose leaders and members generously dedicated their time and effort to visits across peninsular Malaysia.
00:59Past recipients who had their projects appraised highlighted how the Star Property Awards has grown from a simple awards ceremony into a lasting benchmark of excellence and commitment within the real estate industry.
01:11I think the 10th anniversary revisitation by Star Property is a very meaningful, excellent way to celebrate a decade of sustainable impact in our housing industry.
01:23It is a chance for us to reflect on our previous wins and the standout features of Setia Eco Glades and our Setia Headquarters and gain further insights and inspiration to improve on our future planning and developments.
01:42I do feel that the 10th anniversary revisitation initiative is a very special and meaningful initiative as it reflects accountability over the long period of time and its progress in that particular project.
01:54Now we are honoured that Bandhasree Sandhayan was revisited and recognised with a special recognition award but I want to emphasise that this glory and honour belongs to the entire Matrix team who has consistently delivered outstanding performance in Bandhasree Sandhayan.
02:09Indeed it is a great platform for us developers like us to be able to express ourselves as to what a meaningful development is about.
02:22A meaningful development is not only about building structures, it also means to say that we have to give back to the community, it also means that we have to build a community that interacts with each other.
02:37It means also that we have to give value back to the stakeholders and of course it is a sustainable township.
02:47Personally I think it is a good idea to come up with this what you call a revisitation of the previous award winner because in a way you will get to visit the projects and to witness for yourself whether the developers have actually delivered what they have committed previously.
03:05Because during the earlier awards probably the project has not been completed so today you go and visit it you will be able to see whether what your promise came up in reality at the end of the day.
03:17So this is something very different from other awards that I find which is very good.
03:22Personally I think this is a very good initiative because for the project we can actually come back to this award after 10 years from the first start this Star Property Award.
03:36So we feel that I think that is also encouraged a lot of developers I think to not just build and sell the unit.
03:43We will actually make us everyone I think to be more motivated to maintain and to upkeep the project I think is make the project I think every each year become better and better.
03:54I think that is a motivation to a lot of people to a lot of developers it's not just building and selling it's just actually to do a more sustainable development.
04:03I think this is something really great you know of you know of my expectation and because you see normally when we submit for an award you're talking about under construction.
04:13So with this new revisit you're talking about you know after completion did we actually deliver the results.
04:20So it actually pushes the developer to even do better not just stop at completion but what happens after completion.
04:27So that is something you know that we are always pushing our best to even deliver not only quality product but now we are talking about property management how do we manage the property in a better way.
04:38I think it's a true reflection of the commitment that the star has in the place of real estate.
04:45And to revisit excellent awards is also a testimony of the long-term commitment the quality and also all the development and promises you know by real estate players.
05:00We at Saim Nabi Property are very happy to be part of this journey together with the star property awards and we look forward to many years to come.
05:08This year a total of 99 recipients across 38 categories were honored alongside 13 special recognition awards to mark the 10th anniversary.
05:17A prestigious award for visionary leader of the decade presented only once every 10 years was given to Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Chia for his outstanding leadership and vision in the real estate sector.
05:29Going back 40 over years to 50 years without doubt building Malaysia's first fully integrated and green township by rehabilitating an 800 acres piece of abandoned land scarred by disused mining pools.
05:47You know this is nobody has done it here in Malaysia and I think Sunway is the only one that has transformed a wasteland to wonderland as described by Mr. Lee Kuan Yew when he visited Sunway.
06:08Housing and local government minister Ngakor Ming who was the guest of honor at the event applauded the property developers for redefining what is possible in real estate industry.
06:18Like everyone here tonight, we understand that the fortunes of the property development sector are deeply intertwined with the broader economy and naturally subject to its fluctuations.
06:34Over the years, the industry has weathered its share of highs and lows.
06:42Yet, 2025 is shaping up to be a promising year, but a strong performance in 2024 and a positive start of this year.
06:57The top winners of the night were Parkland, which won their All-Star award in the non-listed category,
07:02and Saem Darby Property in the listed category.
07:05We truly honored to receive this award for the third consecutive year.
07:10And also, we would like to thank you, the staff property as well as the panel of judges in recognizing us as the leader in the property industry.
07:22In fact, this award is a symbol of collective efforts put forth by team Saem Darby Property, led by Darduk Sri Aasmeh, and supported with referring from our board of directors.
07:39Yeah, and we will continue to excel for excellence.
07:43We are actually participating with this event, with this award for a few years.
07:48So, we are actually looking after and chasing for this award.
07:52And finally, we got it, number one.
07:54Yeah.
07:55Last year, I think our spot is actually the third spot.
07:58So, this year, finally, we got number one.
08:01So, first, we are very happy.
