What connects a grandmother and a retired Navy officer is a board exam taken decades after
00:05
they first missed it. This is the story of 65-year-old Prabhavati Jadhav and 79-year-old
00:11
Goraknath More who appeared for their board exams in 2025. In Mumbai, Prabhavati Jadhav appeared
00:17
for her class 10 board exams, not alone but with her grandson Soham. While he scored 82%,
00:23
she too passed, securing 52% marks in the Marathi medium exam.
00:30
Years ago, Prabhavati had to give up her studies after getting married young.
00:38
Household responsibilities took over. But when she saw her grandson studying so intently,
00:43
even looking closely at the images in his textbook,
00:52
She started studying again, between chores, in spare moments and eventually sat for the exams.
00:57
Meanwhile, in Nayegaon, a 79-year-old Goraknath More, a retired Navy officer now working in a company's
01:20
legal department, was encouraged by his colleagues to pursue an LLB. But all he could say was,
01:26
Inspired by his colleagues and driven by a long-standing dream to become an advocate,
01:36
clearing class 12th was his first step. When the Maharashtra board results were announced,
01:41
More logged into the website like any other student would. And when he saw he'd passed with 45%,
01:46
More had left school after class 11 to join the Navy. He served for 32 years,
01:52
but he never forgot the unfinished chapter of his own education. In their own time and way,
01:57
both Prabhavati and Goraknath showed that age is no barrier to education.
