While it seems like everything is included, that's actually not true.

00:00Hello, cruisers. I am Dan Klein, executive editor of Come Cruise With Me, but you knew that.
00:05Sitting next to me is Dennis Post. He is our travel agent partner at Postcard Travel Planning,
00:09and we've talked about drink packages quite a bit. It's a big topic here.
00:15But we're at the martini bar on Celebrity Silhouette, and I want to talk a little bit about what's not included in your drink package.
00:22And one of them is Celebrity is kind of notorious for having drinks that are on the menu,
00:27but are above the maximum cost.
00:31So we're actually drinking a smoking bowl. It's a smoked drink. It's a little bit harder to make.
00:35And it's $22, and they will charge you the $3 because $19 is the maximum.
00:40Dennis, what else isn't included on a typical cruise line drink package?
00:45So typically bottles of wine, but there would be a discount. Champagnes not included.
00:51But you can get glasses of them up to that $19 mark.
00:55You can also get, if there's a whiskey or a tequila or something that's above the price point,
01:02in general you will pay the difference, but it's really important to ask that question.
01:07Because sometimes there are exceptions.
01:09So if you want to try that Johnny Walker Blue, that whatever it is, that fancy tequila.
01:14I'm not a tequila guy. I can't think of one.
01:15If you want to try that, just ask the bartender and make sure you're only going to get charged the difference.
01:21And sometimes, with some of the fancy mixed drinks, if you say,
01:26can I have the drink without the presentation so it's not served to you in a pirate shaft,
01:31it's not served to you in a pineapple,
01:32they might be able to bring the cost of the drink down to the maximum cost so it's included.
01:38It does not hurt to ask.
01:40I am Dan Klein. He is Dennis Post.
01:42Come cruise with us soon.
