00:00The Philippines Football Federation President John Gutierrez shared the next steps in launching the highly anticipated inaugural FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup, set to take place in the country this December. Here's the report from Jamaica Bayaka.
00:13Only seven months remain before the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup takes off in the Philippines.
00:22Preparations are in full swing with collaboration between FIFA and the Philippine Football Federation as 16 teams will compete for the championship in this inaugural tournament, including our Philippine Women's National Futsal Team.
00:36Just this March, the official branding and logo for the tournament were unveiled for the largest all-women's futsal event in the country.
00:44In an interview with PTV Sports, PFF President John Gutierrez outlined their ongoing coordination with FIFA and the Philippine Sports Commission to guarantee a successful hosting.
00:54We've been in constant coordination with FIFA daily, as a matter of fact.
00:59No, and PSC has been doing an excellent job trying to get all the government agencies to collaborate with us, with the PSC, to be able to show the world the real Filipino hospitality when it comes to hosting.
01:22So, BC, but BC is good. And we're on the right track, I believe. And hopefully, with everybody coming in, everybody pulling their weight, doing their share,
01:36we'll be hosting a very good Futsal World Cup.
01:43Gutierrez also provided an update on the status of Hill Sports Arena in Pase and the Victoria City Coliseum in Negros Occidental,
01:50which will serve as venues for the exciting Futsal matches.
01:54Well, Victoria's, they're doing the renovations as we speak.
01:58Yung Victoria's kasi, hindi naman siya, it's not in bad shape.
02:04They're just improving it.
02:06No, it's in good functional shape.
02:08But of course, yung pamunuan ng local government, gusto nila magpakitang gilas, and rightfully so.
02:14This is probably one of the biggest, if not the biggest sporting event to come to our shores.
02:18So, magpapakitang gilas ang mga nasa Negros region, no?
02:23And with regards naman dito sa field sports, maayos na maayos na.
02:29FIFA is requiring a few small changes with regards to the infra here and there.
02:37Pero, like I said, with the PSE support, it will be an easy task for us.
02:41The next major event for the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup
02:46is the official draw and launch scheduled for September.
02:50Jamaica Bayaka from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
