00:00Shadows change my life incredibly in terms of visibility. I often get overlooked as a
00:22hard-of-hearing and deaf person so having shadows out in the community brings a sense of comfort
00:29knowing that people know that I am hard of hearing or deaf. I've struggled with visibility all my life
00:35in terms of my disability so I'm really thankful that I have Shadow who can also help me with my
00:41independence. Prior to having Shadow I depended a lot on my family in terms of like sounds and
00:49whatnot so having Shadow has really made me confident. So when the sound activates the dog
00:57will find the source of the sound then run back to the recipient physically touch them Shadow uses
01:03one paw and then they will follow the dog to the source of the sound and that works in about 10
01:09basic household sounds. But the most important sound is a smoke alarm where they just physically
01:14touch the person and then drop to the ground in a warning signal that indicates that the smoke alarm
01:20is going off.
01:21Yeap!
