00:00So four finals to go. We're into 4x1 territory next. That is the South Africa
00:06Men's 4x1, which will be the event after this one. So they are in the cool room at the moment.
00:11Yeah, that's set to be a really spicy heat. But we've got another one coming up first. And again,
00:17it's for glory, it's for money here at the World Relays, and it's for seeding.
00:22Because when it comes to the World Athletics in Tokyo later this year, they want to be in as good
00:31as heat as possible. Here are the teams then from the outside, and it's a change to the British team.
00:37We saw Asher Philip run earlier on in the mixed 4x1. Well, Naya Wedderburn-Goodison, who led that
00:42quartet off yesterday, is tasked with the first leg in this. They've also brought in success
00:46Edouane on the final leg as well. Hunton Williams ran legs two and three yesterday. And here is
00:51Edouane, who comes in for Desiree Henry on the anchor leg. The World Silver Medallists,
00:56Jamaica, go in lane eight. Natasha Morrison comes in on the opening leg for them. She'll hand on to
01:03Shelley-Ann Fraser-Price. Tina Clayton gets the nod from the Clayton family. Her sister Tia is rotated
01:10out of this one. And Sharika Jackson, the two-time World 200m champion, is on the anchor leg for them.
01:18What a team. Spain ran a national record to surprise Jamaica yesterday in their heat,
01:23beat them into second place. They have Bestue on the second leg, Paua Sevilla, and then Maria Isabel
01:30Perez. They were fifth in the World Final in 2022. Two of this quartet ran in that race. USA field the
01:37same team as yesterday. Micaiah Briscoe, World Indoor Medallist, great starter. That's the reason she's
01:41on the first leg for them. Kaysia Chandler at her first major championships for the US runs the second
01:46leg. And then Kayla White and TT Terry will be hoping to execute a handover that doesn't go viral on social
01:52media today. In five are Belgium who last qualified for the World Championships in 2009. It's their same
02:00team from the first round yesterday. Rani Vinca, Rani Rossius, who again had a great indoor season.
02:06Lintorfs and Delphine and Kanza ran a storming anchor yesterday to come past Great Britain in their heat.
02:12They were disqualified in the Olympics. Again, looking to end on a high. Canada were sixth in the Olympic
02:18final. They make one change to their team. They bring in Jacqueline Madogo, who ran earlier on
02:24actually in the mixed race, as did Marie-Eloise Leclerc and Audrey Le Duc will anchor them home.
02:31The Olympic bronze medalist Germany are in three. Sophia Junck to lead them off. Handing on to Nella
02:39Jaworski, Jessica Bianca Vesely and Rebecca Haase, who anchored them home to Olympic bronze,
02:46anchors them here in China. And on the inside are the Netherlands. The European bronze medalists
02:53with the same team as yesterday. Anne van der Veel on the opening leg. Mariah van Hunenstein
02:59on the second leg. To Minka Bischofs and to one of the up-and-coming youngsters, Britt de Blau.
03:04Last time they went to the World Championships, they didn't get the baton round.
03:07World Athletics relays women's four by 100 meters final. $40,000. The title of champions. The USA
03:20are the defending champions. They're the Olympic champions. They're the world champions. But
03:26Jamaica, with Fraser Price et al, will challenge.
03:39to all eyes on Jamaica one from the outside and for USA as well. It's a fast start from
03:53Micaiah Briscoe of the USA who's up on Spain. Outside her already. Briscoe handing the baton
03:59on for the USA to Kaiser Chandler. Down the back straight. Fraser Price ran a brilliant back straight
04:04yesterday. Not taking too much at the moment out of the teams outside her. Fraser Price as the baton
04:09moves on for Jamaica. Great Britain Northern Ireland right on the outside. USA at the moment.
04:13Spain are running. Another absolute stormer. This is wide open for the medals. Coming into the home
04:18straight. It's Spain who get the baton in their hand first. Sharika Jackson for Jamaica.
04:22TT Terry storming down the home straight. And success Edouane for Great Britain on the outside.
04:27What a run from Edouane who takes it for Great Britain ahead of Spain and Jamaica. Wow.
04:35What a run from the Great British Athletes. Success Edouane. Her name is success and she brings success.
04:43It's gold for Great Britain here. What's coming up on the screen is clearly correct with Jamaica having
04:51been listed as the winners but Spain coming home in second place. What an unbelievable run and I've
04:58got to say Jess when the baton came into the home straight Great Britain just having a panic at the
05:02moment because the same results you saw on the screen have come up on the board here in the arena but it
05:06will eventually get corrected. They're looking around at the moment going what's that all about. What a
05:11last 80 meters that was. I mean that was absolutely outstanding. I mean what more can you want from a
05:20championship. Spain beside themselves. They are having the weekend of their lives. Sharika Jackson there
05:28not so much. Not having the time of her life. But Spain I mean can it get any better for them. They
05:33absolutely loved it. They have been outstanding all weekend. We're going to wait for 100 confirmation
05:39there. Pretty sure that was Great Britain crossing the line in first but let's see what happened with
05:45second, third and fourth. Amy Hunt there. She was fifth at the indoor 60 meters earlier this year having
05:54an outstanding season. Tina Clayton had a good run there. Pretty solid on the exchanges but I'd like to see
06:00some replays of those. Well just to say you're not missing anything here because we don't have any
06:06information on the results system. I think it is finally coming through now as we see the teams in
06:11the arena being coming in for the next race. But it is now coming up on the computer confirmed that
06:15Great Britain and Northern Ireland have won. There you go. That is the correct results. Great Britain and
06:20Northern Ireland with two relatively untried youngsters on the opening and anchor legs there with the
06:26experience in the middle. What a fantastic victory that is for them. Running down holding off Sharika
06:31Jackson in the home straight and a word for Spain by the way who again have beaten Jamaica and the United
06:37States. I know with you know they had some big names in there Jamaica and the USA with Shelley Avraza-Price
06:45and then oh my goodness I mean Spain. Wow silver medalists here at the World Athletics Reloes.
06:53Absolutely exceptional. Well these finals I mean we might have been talking about World Championship
06:59places for a lot of the a lot of the time but you can see what it meant there to the teams who had
07:04success. I mean that is such a massive result for not only for Great Britain they've had medal success but
07:09for Spain to fit and we're not talking Jamaica's second third fourth string teams here the United
07:14States third and third fourth string teams that's Shelley Avraza-Price who's got a bag full of World
07:19Championship and Olympic medals. And it's also Sharika Jackson the current world champion at 200 meters
07:25but but Great Britain were like nah see you later we're gonna take this one and Spain look at this look at
07:32the power from these athletes and that exchange there wasn't actually that 100% smooth for Spain.
07:39Look at Perez though down this home straight and keep an eye on the left and side of your screen with
07:44Edwin who just stays calm has it accelerates Perez just about passes her as we go across the line
07:53oh torso over first Great Britain thank you very much. Well success Edwin will be watching this back
08:01I imagine her family and friends are watching this back in the UK right now or wherever around the world
08:06they may be and she's just seen her she wasn't she was behind those athletes when she got the back or at
08:11least level she's just come past Sarika Jackson and TT Terry so it's an incredible run from the Great
08:17Britain and that the story there of the the nation's Great Britain and Spain overhauling Jamaica and United States
08:24exceptional exceptional exceptional racing TT Terry didn't quite have enough in that final leg they had a
08:36stormer yesterday but it wasn't to be USA tonight they are the Olympic champions in the 4x100 meters but
08:45they're gonna have to settle for fourth place here at the World Athletics Relay Spain though hello to a new
08:54team in the mix in a sprinting absolutely gutting I mean if a picture says a thousand words
09:03Sharika Jackson's face there says it all
09:07yeah and there is the Spanish Spanish success
09:11yeah and it's not often in 4x1s that you're talking about you know the European athletes and
09:15you know there'll be inquests being held again in Jamaica and US and I guess it
09:20it's back to the drawing board on a few things for both of those countries but certainly the Spanish
09:26drawing board they have been painting very very pretty pictures Great Britain and Northern Ireland
09:31team still celebrating here in the arena as all teams are yep season's best for them we are early
09:38in the season as we've mentioned before but still nothing to take away from this team here who can't
09:43quite believe it to be honest can they wow and the Spanish team they are just beside themselves what
09:52a weekend for these women it really has been brilliant Shelley Anne Fraser-Price though she's taking
09:58that bronze medal adding it to her collection you know she seems happy enough with that she really
10:04is a superstar in more ways than one if you haven't seen already the footage of her storming her son's
10:11school sports days 100 meters is really worth a watch across social media but here we go here is the
10:17confirmation of the women's four by 100 meter relay final Great Britain take first place Spain second
10:23Jamaica third and the Olympic champions down in fourth a national record though for the Canadians
10:29Belgium coming six Netherlands seven and it was a do not finish for Germany
10:41We have three more finals to go here and it's now the time of the men's four by one
10:46one right men's four by 100 meter final here at the World Athletics Relates outside lane Italy
10:54Dessolu Meluso Pata and Tortu will bring them home they were fourth at Paris South Africa lane eight
11:04Wallaza will lead them out Dambil second leg Nkawana in third and Timbini
11:11we will bring them home in the anchor heap and exceptional so far and they are the silver medalists
11:18from the Paris Olympics Japan lane seven
