At least 13 people, all women and children, were killed in a horrific truck collision in Chhattisgarh's Raipur. The road accident occurred late Sunday (May 11) night near Saragaon on Raipur-Balodabazar road. A family from Chatod village was returning from Bano village after attending a "Chhathi" ceremony (a traditional ritual held on the sixth day after a child’s birth) at the residence of Neelkanth Sahu. The truck carrying them collided head-on with a trailer truck, resulting in deaths of 13 people. The deceased include nine women, two girls, one boy and a six-month-old infant. An investigation has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the mishap.
