00:00High M train station forms part of the Thames link line and it has an average
00:03cancellation rate of just over 7% which leaves passengers stranded here at the
00:08platform and forces them to find other means of transportation. So I've found it
00:12to be more of an, because I go to work for 7 o'clock so I go quite early, usually
00:16it's the first train so it's not always cancelled but coming home a lot of the
00:20time you can end up sitting waiting at Gravesend for a transfer for an hour or
00:23so, sometimes they just stay delayed and then just got to go out and get like an
00:27Uber or something. So yeah, kind of quite frustrating. Yeah usually I just go to
00:31Gravesend. So I don't go to college in Kent, I go to college in London so when it
00:39does get cancelled it's quite annoying. I've used a train station half my life, going up
00:43and down the train up into London, used to go use it for work, I still use it for
00:46work today. It's quite frequently cancelled due to last minute or due to lack of
00:52staff or due to, yeah, just problems of flooding and what have you. It's, it's
00:57very hit and miss when it comes to getting trains here, especially if there's a
01:01cancellation, especially if it's last minute, I've got to get to work. It, it's, it
01:04impacts the rest of my day because I'm late for work, I got in from my boss and
01:08especially in Higham, the phone signal here is not great. So if I do have to call
01:12work, I could barely get a signal. I have to walk up the hill to then get another, to get
01:16a phone signal to tell work I'm going to be late because of my train.
01:19I've, I waited a very long time for a train, let's put it this way in the past
01:23before. So I, it does get very frustrating when the trains do get cancelled, like, okay,
01:27great, I'll wait for the next one. And the next one's like, oh, also cancelled.
01:31We're working really closely with the British Transport Police and Network Rail, having
01:36joint plans as part of our tripartite agreement around what we can do to improve that. When
01:41we talk about the weather and rain, for example, we are investing millions of pounds with Network
01:47Rail in the infrastructure to improve drainage in some key locations. And all of those in
01:52different areas have impacted how we've been able to deliver for passengers. Lots of exciting
01:59stuff going on to try and continually improve the performance that customers receive from
02:04Southeastern.
02:05Following Higham with the most cancellations is Greenhithe, Northfleet, Swanscombe, and
02:11then Stonecrossing. And those with the most delays over three minutes is Hildenborough, Pluckley,
02:16Tenham, Tunbridge Wells, and Canterbury East. But for those affected, Southeastern Rail recommends
02:22using the delay repay service to get compensation for your journey. Kristen Hawthorne for KMTV in
