FEU downs NU, moves on cusp of first title in 13 years
The FEU Tamaraws overcame 0-1 and 1-2 set deficits to turn back the five-peat seeking NU Bulldogs in five sets, 22-25, 25-22, 13-25, 25-22, 15-13, in Game One of the UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball best-of-3 Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, May 11.
Amet Bituin nailed the off the block kill to finish with 16 points and the match as FEU moved on the cusp of dethroning NU, its first title in 13 years and 26th overall.
Zhydryx Saavedra brought the pain with 25 points and six digs while Mikko Espartero chipped in 10 markers.
Leo Ordiales logged 23 points to pace the Bulldogs.
Game Two is set on Wednesday, May 14 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
