00:00My friends, today we will take a look at the frontline situation in Kharkiv Oblast,
00:05this part of the front up north that the mainstream media barely talks about.
00:09Spoilers, what's happening there is not good.
00:11In the last two months, our beloved Ukrainskaya Armia was unable to dislodge the Russian 6th
00:17Combined Arms Army that was entrenched along the banks of the Oskol River.
00:22Every Ukrainian assault broke like foam against granite.
00:25Even worse, after blocking these tracks, the Russians surged forward and expanded their area of control once again.
00:32And that's not all. While all this was taking place,
00:35Russian forces also launched a three-pronged amphibious operation north of the Oskol River.
00:40And according to the latest news, Russian assault detachments have captured the village of Kamyanka.
00:47Leave me alone!
00:50I'm here!
00:51At least, we know one thing for sure.
00:56British officers did not plan this river crossing operation for the Russian army.
01:01We would have had the disastrous and stubborn assaults on Krenki.
01:05Exclusive footage of British officers trying to understand how not to F up an amphibious landing.
01:10About this entire Russian offensive, pro-Ukrainian newspaper, radio, Svoboda reported,
01:16The Russian army is approaching Kupiansk from the north, three kilometers left.
01:21At the same time, Ukrainian journalist Butusov wrote the following on Telegram.
01:25The critical situation on the Limansky front requires immediate managerial and organizational decisions.
01:31Otherwise, the front on the Oskol will collapse.
01:35And what happens if the Oskol front collapses?
01:38Well, put simply, Kupiansk is gone.
01:42Another fuck up.
01:44Another fuck up.
01:46Oh, but that's not all.
01:48The worrying thing is how the Russian command seems to have transferred numerous brigades and divisions
01:53from Kursk all the way to Kharkiv Oblast.
01:56All I can tell you is that it's going to be a heavy metal festival for Ukraine this summer.
02:01Welcome to History Legends and here are the latest news of the Russo-Ukraine war.

02:16Thank you to everyone that has already helped and welcome to the headquarters.
02:21What I suggest is that we go back to when I last covered this part of the front in early March.
02:26That was the frontline situation along the Oskol River by the 3rd of March, 2025.
02:31The Russian command of the 6th Command Arms Army secured a set of breach heads along a 15-kilometer portion on the western side of the river.
02:39But then Russian forces had almost fully taken control over Dvorichna, a strategic village since it's located at the center of one of the breach heads.
02:47But if you remember, that was not the only place where the Russians struck.
02:51This time we'll have to look 22 kilometers northeast of Dvorichna.
02:55There, the Russians also disembarked forces near the settlement of Topoli, located right along the Russian border.
03:02To achieve all these gains, the Russian 6th Army only made use of infantry units,
03:07which allowed mobility, facilitated river crossing operations,
03:11and decreases the overall chances of Russian troops being detected by Ukrainian drones.
03:16To defend this 35-kilometer front, the Ukrainian command positioned the 151st Mechanized Brigade just outside Topoli,
03:22and the 5th Mountain Assault Battalion near Fiholivka.
03:26In this video, you can see two soldiers from this unit, callsigns Shuba and Sova,
03:31who are said to have defended their trench lines, their foxholes, for 90 days in a row.
03:37I don't know if it's a feat of arms, or if they simply didn't have anyone else to replace them.
03:42Next to them was the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade of the National Guard.
03:46The 40 separate rifle battalion was covering the T-2114 road.
03:50Further south, the Ukrainians positioned the 112th and 117th Territorial Defense Brigades,
03:56just outside Tvoritschna.
03:59Behind them, the 143rd Mechanized Brigade.
04:02The access to Kupiansk was protected by the 116th Mechanized Brigade,
04:06as well as the 15th Karadak Brigade of the National Guard.
04:09Further to the rear, the 3rd Tank Brigade remained in reserve in Shipovate.
04:13We can clearly see how the northern part of the Oskol River was lightly defended compared to the southern part.
04:19It was done on purpose to prevent the Russians from pushing south towards the strategic city of Kupiansk,
04:26especially considering that forward elements of the Russian army were only 3 to 5 kilometers away from the first houses of Kupiansk.
04:34Because of this threat directly outside Kupiansk, on the 4th of May, the Ukrainians counter-attacked
04:39and regained this 1.3 square kilometer forest north of Zapadnyi.
04:43It was a great tactical success.
04:46This forest is equivalent to 180 football fields.
04:49So imagine the number of troops that can be concentrated and hidden there.
04:53Meaning for the Ukrainians, this forest will play an important role as a rally point
04:57before launching their counter-attacks towards Zapadnyi.
05:01Talking about that, right at the same time,
05:03a Ukrainian column planned to storm Zapadnyi,
05:06but was stopped just outside the village.
05:08As you can see here, the Ukrainians left behind as a donation to the God Emperor,
05:14a BMP-1, a UAZ-452 van, and a Swedish bandwagon 206 tracked all-terrain vehicle.
05:22While this southern part of the breach head was under heavy pressure,
05:25on the 6th of March, Russian detachments positioned near Novomlinsk
05:29managed to expand their area of control northwards.
05:32Now at this point, it's really important to understand the topography of the battlefield.
05:37As you can see on this 3D map,
05:39the Russians pushed 2 kilometers along this chalky ridgeline,
05:42overlooking the entire Osko River.
05:45This means Russian reinforcements will be able to cross over to the West Bank,
05:49whoops, not that one,
05:51without facing direct enemy fire.
05:53As you can see, it had high tactical value.
05:57So it was then easy for the Russian reinforcements,
05:59all these battalions, to reinforce the breach heads, right?
06:03On the 10th of March,
06:05the Ukrainians also counter-attacked in this forestry north of Kupiansk
06:09and pushed the Russians back 3 kilometers.
06:12As you can see, the goal was to swing north
06:14and cut off the Russian breach heads from their supply lines.
06:17And let's be honest,
06:18this area, Iran-Senkivka,
06:21is really cursed for the Russian army.
06:23There must be something buried in this area,
06:25because it's not normal that the Russians keep getting L's,
06:28around there.
06:30In the morning of the 14th of March,
06:32the men of the Ukrainian 8th Mountain Assault Battalion gathered for a quick prayer.
06:37Moments later, they counter-attacked the enemy in Fiholivka
06:40and knocked out the Russians from the settlement.
06:43The Russian breach head around Dvoritschna was seriously getting cornered.
06:47The situation was critical.
06:49The Russian command of the 6th Army only had two options left.
06:53Either reinforced the southern breach head and regained the lost positions immediately,
06:58or, option two,
06:59depressurized the sector by attacking somewhere else along the Osko River,
07:04and forced the Ukrainians to disperse their reserves.
07:07On the 15th of March,
07:09some Russian rifle teams crossed the river 13 kilometers north of Dvoritschna,
07:14beyond the settlement of Petrivka.
07:16They ended up consolidating a breach head along a 2-kilometer portion of the river.
07:20Due to the weak Ukrainian response, by the 19th,
07:23this grouping secured the ridgeline and broke through 3 kilometers into these forested areas.
07:29As you can see on this 3D map,
07:31they pushed right into this gap between the two ridgelines.
07:35To the right stood the village of Kamyanka,
07:37home to less than 1,000 people before the war.
07:40It was an important tactical objective because it was the largest settlement in the entire area.
07:46To keep the momentum going,
07:47Russian drone operators also destroyed the camouflaged Ukrainian antennas
07:51to blind their command staff.
07:54Part of the reason they could explain why the Ukrainians couldn't counterattack immediately
07:58is because further south, heavy fighting took place around Viholivka,
08:02as Russian counterattacks pinned down a number of Ukrainian reserves.
08:06In this footage, you can see small Russian fireteams attempting to regain the settlement
08:10and infiltrate Ukrainian positions.
08:12But these attempts were targeted by Ukrainian bomber drones of the 5th Brigade Slobozhanska,
08:18as well as Ukrainian artillery.
08:19Is it me or drones have turned warfare into hide-and-seek?
08:24Two days later, the light aviation of the 151st Mechanized Brigade
08:27targeted Russian troops attempting to push out of the village of Zapadne.
08:32The settlement of Dvoritschna was equally targeted and covered by swarms of FPV and bomber drones.
08:38This fixed a considerable number of Russian troops and prevented them from pushing out of Dvoritschna.
08:45From the Russian command's perspective, something had to be done ASAP,
08:50or the breach head would collapse on its own.
08:52On the 22nd of March, the Russian 6th Command Arms Army launched another river crossing operation
08:58close to the Russian border, after which the settlement of Topoli was entirely mopped up.
09:03The advancing rifle teams only faced sporadic drone strikes.
09:08My theory is that they were saved by this ancient pagan sign,
09:11which acted as a high-tech anti-drone shield.
09:14Meanwhile, another Russian detachment was disembarked 4 kilometers south of the village.
09:20Facing little resistance, they advanced 2 kilometers towards this road linking Topoli to Kamyanka.
09:26As you can see, the village of Kamyanka was now getting flanked on both sides.
09:30And then, the Russians just stopped.
09:33For the south, Dvoritschna kept getting bombarded,
09:36but the Russians still managed to regain control of the Sahunivka district of the village,
09:41thus officializing the full capture of the settlement on the 25th of March.
09:46Important note!
09:47Disclaimer!
09:48According to the map of pro-Ukrainian Deep State UA,
09:51parts of Dvoritschna are still in contested territory.
09:55Two kilometers away from the Sahunivka district,
09:58Russian drones spotted and managed to hit a Cossack 7 APC.
10:02Now, although anecdotal,
10:03this forested area around where the armored vehicle was destroyed
10:07will be an important objective for both sides to control.
10:10For the Russians, it will act as a shield to fend off Ukrainian counterattacks
10:14aimed at retaking control of Dvoritschna.
10:17And for the Ukrainians,
10:18this force will be used as a stepping stone to strike right into the heart of the village.
10:23Each of these Cossack 7s can transport seven to eight riflemen,
10:28so this MRAP will need six trips back and forth
10:31to transport an entire platoon to the rally point.
10:34For sure it's longer,
10:35but it reduces the risk of being spotted by Russian drones.
10:39That way, the Ukrainian command has transferred a lot of units inside this forest
10:43to reinforce the defensive perimeter west of Dvoritschna.
10:47And it's not a coincidence,
10:49because towards the end of the month of March,
10:51the Ukrainian command noticed increased enemy activity inside this Dvoritschna breach head.
10:56I mean, just check out what this Ukrainian mortar team had to say.
11:00There are drones in the sky 24-7.
11:02The unit is firing at the Russian positions in occupied Dvoritschna.
11:06Essentially, at this point for the Ukrainians,
11:08the big question was,
11:10where would the Russians strike next?
11:12Everything pointed towards a Russian attack in the sector of Zapadne,
11:17as Ukrainian recon teams spotted Russian infantrymen gathering in this farm complex,
11:21which was then targeted by 2S1 Gvasdika self-propelled howitzer.
11:26Remember what I said about this exact position in my last video.
11:30As you can see at the end of the tree line,
11:32the Russians even managed to capture this farm complex.
11:35It was an ideal position to hold as it laid on elevated terrain
11:39and thus prevented any serious Ukrainian counter-attack.
11:43The days went by and nothing happened.
11:46The Ukrainian command could breathe and notice that it was just a large rotation of forces
11:50and not a preparation for a large offensive.
11:54Whoops!
11:54On the 31st of March,
11:56Russian soldiers stormed Ukrainian positions and advanced another 2 kilometers,
12:00greatly expanding the breach head to the south.
12:03Fuck.
12:04Some of their forward elements even reached the settlement of Kindarashivka,
12:084 kilometers from their starting positions.
12:11As you can witness in the following drone strikes,
12:14it seems some of these Russian sabotage teams were spotted and then destroyed.
12:19After this Ukrainian counter-attack,
12:21we have a video of a member of Ukraine's search and rescue unit
12:24saying how a couple days before,
12:26the village of Kindarashivka was completely calm,
12:30but they now have to evacuate all the remaining civilians.
12:33The orcs won't come back,
12:35everything under control,
12:37but everyone should get the F out of here.
12:40Jokes aside,
12:41these strikes against Kindarashivka are nothing unexpected.
12:45Actually,
12:45I mentioned it in my last video.
12:47The biggest one seems to be Kindarashivka,
12:50so we can expect heavy fighting to take place in this area.
12:52April 2025.
12:55By the 2nd of April,
12:57this entire portion of the Oskol River between Novomlinsk and Petrivka also fell within the gray zone.
13:03That means that the only positions that the Ukrainians still held on the banks of the Oskol River was in Kamyanka.
13:10That same day,
13:11footage was released of Ukrainian drones striking a Russian T-98 tank,
13:16a T-72B3 tank,
13:18and a UAZ-452 Bukhanka van.
13:21Thing is,
13:21these drone strikes happened right here,
13:238 kilometers beyond the contact line,
13:26near the settlement of Taviljanka.
13:28This could indicate a shift in the Russian strategy,
13:31and how the Russian command is preparing to bring armored vehicles across the Oskol River.
13:35Now, this is serious.
13:37They're preparing phase 2 of the operation.
13:39This also matched what this Ukrainian telegram channel reported.
13:43All these attempts have so far resulted in ineffective frontal attacks and assaults with high losses.
13:49It's okay,
13:49they may be consumed a little bit too much Copium 5000,
13:52but the root of the information is interesting.
13:55That means if Russian infantry managed to secure multiple breach heads,
13:59as part of phase 1 of this operation,
14:01it became difficult for rifle teams to push beyond these breach heads without armored support.
14:07On the 4th of April,
14:08the Ukrainian Phoenix unit of the State Border Service discovered an enemy sabotage team.
14:13The problem is that this was delocated right inside Kamyanka.
14:17By that point,
14:18the Ukrainians had possibly lost control over the southern part of the village.
14:22Another group was delocated 300 meters from the first one,
14:25confirming the Ukrainian staff worst fears.
14:28A sizable Russian detachment managed to get a foothold inside the village.
14:32And the problem for Ukraine is that this settlement is located so far out from their bases that a counterattack seems unlikely.
14:40From a tactical perspective,
14:42we can believe that the Russian troops disembarked outside the village
14:45and then started infiltrating the urban area from the east,
14:49as opposed to a frontal attack involving a river crossing.
14:53Actually,
14:53it gets worse.
14:54Ukrainian drone teams also struck a number of Russian pieces of equipment located near the river,
15:00and even a 2S5 self-propelled howitzer,
15:03thus confirming the enemy's intention to bring reinforcements and storm the settlement.
15:09It couldn't possibly get worse for Ukraine.
15:11It's a lie!
15:12The Ukrainian command organized an armored counterattack to flank the Russian forces
15:17that were dangerously shoving their tip inside Kintrashivka.
15:21Part of this operation involved a Ukrainian column that drove through the settlement of Holubivka,
15:26just outside Kupiansk,
15:28precisely 1,500 meters from the first buildings of the city.
15:32But then when they were out in the open,
15:33they got hammered by swarms of FPV drones.
15:36Allegedly,
15:37the personnel inside the vehicles were then ambushed by hostile small-arms fire.
15:413 kilometers from there,
15:43another Ukrainian counterattack was halted.
15:46As you can see here,
15:47operators are inserting their toys into the back door before releasing all their explosives.
15:53This Ukrainian counterattack was huge
15:55because another column tried to storm this farm complex south of Zapadne.
15:59We see a disoriented M113 APC driving straight towards three anti-tank mines lying in open sight.
16:07Moments later,
16:07the vehicle gets destroyed.
16:09So in summer,
16:10the Ukrainians struck the bridgehead from three directions.
16:13This one in Holubivka,
16:15this one in the center in open field,
16:18and this one south of Zapadne.
16:20Unbeknownst to the Ukrainians,
16:21they poked right into the bee's nest.
16:24Because 24 hours later,
16:26on the 6th of April,
16:27the Russian army launched a major offensive along the entire southern bridgehead
16:32and captured the village of Zapadne.
16:34On the 11th of April,
16:35the Ukrainian command tried to regain a foothold inside Vorichna
16:38using a unit of foreign volunteers.
16:41Unfortunately for them,
16:42one of the two groups composed of seven men,
16:44of which some New Zealanders,
16:46was ambushed and destroyed.
16:48The front didn't change much in the following days
16:50apart from drone teams pelting each other.
16:53Although it's important to note that heavy fighting persisted in Kamyanka,
16:57In order to dislodge the defenders,
17:00the Russians made use of ground-based kamikaze drones
17:03to blow up underground positions.
17:05Meanwhile, bomber drones were also actively being used to target mines
17:09and make them detonate before the arrival of friendly infantrymen.
17:13It's sad to say,
17:14but today a lot of NATO military forces
17:16still have not taken drones into account in their infantry tactics.
17:20As a historical example,
17:22it's like rejecting the use of arquebuses during the Renaissance.
17:26No, no, we'll just stick to mounted knights and archers.
17:30Otherwise, the fighting on the Oskal River
17:32was slowly shifting towards Kintarashivka,
17:35with an increasing number of Russian sabotage teams
17:37trying to infiltrate Ukrainian lines.
17:40And this time,
17:41the Russian rifle teams were supported by the Flyboys.
17:43In this footage,
17:44we see the impact of a Russian helicopter
17:46launched air-to-surface missile
17:48against a large building in that same settlement.
17:52The building is located very close to the contact line
17:54and was allegedly used as a base
17:56for an entire team of drone operators.
17:59In the neighboring village of Ratkivka,
18:01a Russian fiber optics drone managed to finish off
18:04an abandoned Cossack armored vehicle.
18:06Now,
18:06the problem for the Ukraine command
18:07is while they had to shield Kupiansk in the south,
18:11the Russians were also tickling their positions
18:1335 kilometers to the north.
18:15On the 17th of April,
18:17Ukrainian drone operators of the 3rd Tank Brigade
18:19kept Russian forces at bay in Kamyanka.
18:22But it became clear that more and more Russian units
18:24started pushing towards the Oskal River.
18:27The arrival of mechanized formations was important
18:29to be able to expand beyond the current Russian positions.
18:34So I wonder how the Russians will actually transfer
18:36all this equipment on the west bank of the Oskal River.
18:39It seems we got our answer on the same day,
18:42on the 17th of April,
18:43but this time further south in Dvorichna.
18:46There,
18:46the Ukrainians destroyed two BMPs
18:48trying to ford the Vernia-Dvorichna River.
18:51Of course,
18:52the question is,
18:52was this the entire Russian force
18:54that tried to cross the river?
18:56Or there were more vehicles,
18:57but they managed to get across undetected
18:59to support their offensive in Kharkiv Oblast
19:02and the crossing of heavy equipment
19:04across the Oskal River.
19:05It also became imperative for the Russian command
19:08to pinpoint Ukrainian artillery units.
19:10Like this 155mm Crab self-propelled howitzer
19:14that was struck by a Lancet loitering drone
19:16when it was positioned inside the village of Stetskivka,
19:2012 kilometers from the contact line.
19:22On the 17th of April as well,
19:24clearly a busy day.
19:26Some Russian soldiers pushed three kilometers
19:28and occupied some houses in Malashapkivka.
19:31But a Ukrainian assault detachment
19:33from the Karadak Brigade immediately counterattacked.
19:37While being covered by the suppressive fire
19:39of their armored vehicles,
19:40the riflemen stormed the buildings held by the enemy
19:43and cleared them one after the other,
19:46essentially leaving no chance for the defenders.
19:48But four days later,
19:50the Russians returned,
19:51but this time more numerous.
19:53On the 21st of April,
19:54drone footage showed how Russian forces
19:56started pushing towards the P-79 road
19:59north of Kindrasivka,
20:01around the sector as well as in this location.
20:04The loss of Kindrasivka
20:05would be extremely problematic for Ukraine
20:07as it would essentially open the path
20:09right into Kupiansk.
20:11As the month of April was coming to an end,
20:14Russian intelligence officers observed
20:16active movement of Ukrainian armored formations
20:18in the Kupiansk direction.
20:20They explained how in the sector,
20:22such a large number of tanks and armored vehicles
20:25is a rare sight.
20:27So it was definitely something worth paying attention to.
20:31Ukraine was preparing some sort of counterattack
20:33and every Russian rifleman was ordered to dig in.
20:37As a matter of fact,
20:38both sides were running against the clock.
20:40The Ukrainians had to act fast
20:42before the Russians could reinforce their breach heads.
20:44And equally,
20:45the Russians had to transfer a lot of their reserves
20:47on the west bank of the Osko River
20:49before the Ukrainian counterattack.
20:51On the 25th of April,
20:53drones of the Ukrainian 8th Mountain Assault Battalion
20:56targeted the Russian motor team
20:57positioned right at the center of Dvoritschna,
21:00thus confirming the fall of the village.
21:03Meanwhile,
21:03close to the Russian border in Kamyanka,
21:06Ukrainian drone operators
21:07kept posting videos of their strikes.
21:10To show that things were going well,
21:11the defense was strong
21:12and the orcs kept getting repelled.
21:15Well,
21:15until the 28th of April,
21:18when Russian forces
21:19stormed the village of Kamyanka.
21:20As you can see in this footage,
21:29in preparation of the attack,
21:31any stronghold or armored vehicle
21:32in the close proximity of the village
21:34was targeted by drones and artillery.
21:37After that,
21:37it was a multitude of small Russian rifle teams
21:40that mopped up the buildings one by one.
21:43However,
21:43in many cases,
21:44instead of entering the buildings
21:45to secure them,
21:46the Russian assault detachment
21:48simply blew them up.
21:49Like this soldier
21:50that attached an anti-tank mine
21:52to a rope
21:53that he then swung inside the house.
21:55Moments later,
21:56it detonated.
21:57Using the same method,
21:58all the buildings
21:59were cleared from their occupants.
22:01Otherwise,
22:02the assault team
22:03simply pummeled grenades
22:04into dugouts
22:05to score three-point field goals,
22:07while others preferred
22:08the good old RPGs.
22:10This goes to show
22:11that in real-life urban battles,
22:13most soldiers prefer to avoid CQB.
22:15Just blow up the entire place
22:17and move on to the next house.
22:18And whoever of the defenders
22:19survived the initial assault
22:21was then captured.
22:23A couple hours later,
22:24Kamyanka fell
22:25under Russian control.
22:27As you can see here,
22:28the flag of the Russian Federation
22:29was raised in two locations
22:31of the settlement.
22:32With the fall of Kamyanka,
22:33the entire Oskar River
22:34going from the north of Kupiansk
22:36to the Russian border
22:37was under Russian control.
22:39May 2025.
22:41This section is going to be short
22:43because it seems that
22:44both the Ukrainian
22:45and Russian forces
22:46positioned along the Oskar River
22:48took a tactical pause.
22:49We only have some footage
22:50from the 3rd of May,
22:52where Ukrainian drones
22:53from the 151st Mechanized Brigade
22:55harassed Russian troops
22:56positioned in and around Zapadne.
22:59In summary,
22:59this was the front-line situation
23:00along the Oskar River
23:02in early March.
23:03And that was the situation
23:04two months later.
23:06I know,
23:07I agree,
23:07not very spectacular,
23:09but the Russian army
23:09still managed to secure
23:10the village of Dvorichna
23:12and Kamyanka.
23:14This is not some
23:14small amphibious raid,
23:16but all these strikes
23:17are shaping operations
23:18in preparation
23:19of a much bigger offensive.
23:22The big question is
23:22in what direction
23:23will the Russians
23:24focus their attention?
23:25Are they going to shift
23:26their forces to the south
23:28to take Kupiansk?
23:29Are they going to prefer
23:30to focus their attention
23:31on the lightly defended
23:33Ukrainian positions
23:33on the northern part
23:35of the river?
23:35We also learned
23:36that it was the 344th
23:38Motorized Rifle Regiment
23:39that captured the settlement
23:40of Kamyanka.
23:42This regiment is part
23:43of the 57th Motor Rifle Brigade,
23:45which operates
23:46under the 5th Combat Arms Army.
23:48You heard that well,
23:495th Combat Arms Army
23:50and not 6th.
23:52We might have our answer
23:53in this following telegram post,
23:55where we learned
23:55that the Russian command
23:56transferred the 6th Combat Arms Army
23:59from the Oskar River
24:00to Belgarad.
24:01So it seems that
24:02the Russian army command
24:03organized a massive
24:04rotation of forces.
24:06On top of that,
24:07units previously deployed
24:08in Kursk,
24:09also appeared
24:10in the Oskar River sector.
24:12Since there are no forests
24:13along the Russia-Ukraine border,
24:15it's impossible
24:15to concentrate
24:16large formations there
24:17without being detected.
24:19However,
24:20this can be done
24:20along the forested banks
24:22of the Oskar River.
24:23Something is brewing here.
24:25That's all I have for you today.
