Trump Reacts To Ed Martin's Nomination For U.S. Attorney Failing

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump was asked about Ed Martin.

00:06Do the backer plan this setting.

00:07Oh, I do, yeah, but he's a terrific person.

00:10And he wasn't getting the support from people that I thought.

00:15You know, he's done a very good job.

00:16Crime is down 25% in D.C. during his period of time.

00:21I'm very disappointed in that.

00:23But I have so many different things that I'm doing now with the trade.

00:26You know, I'm one person.

00:28I can only make, boom, I can only lift that little phone so many times in a day.

00:33But we have somebody else that will be great.

00:37I just want to say, Ed is unbelievable.

00:39And hopefully we can bring him into, whether it's DOJ or whatever, in some capacity.

00:46Because really outstanding.

00:47It was, to me, it was disappointing, I'll be honest.

00:49I have to be straight.

00:50I was disappointed.

00:51A lot of people were disappointed.

00:53But that's the way it works sometimes, you know.

00:55That's the way it works.

00:56And he wasn't rejected.

00:57But we felt it would be very, it would be hard.
