01:10to commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in Europe

01:17We come together conscious of our need for God's forgiveness

01:22for the sin and the desire of some to dominate others

01:28that often leads to conflict between people and war between nations

01:36As we remember the many soldiers, sailors and airmen

01:42and indeed many civilians who gave their lives

01:48restraining evil and opposing tyranny

01:52So we also come in thanksgiving for those who continue to strive for peace on this our continent

02:03We gather joyfully today as those who gathered on that first victory day

02:10Glad of each other's company

02:13and grateful for the laughter and love

02:17that can follow times of sadness and loss
