Aligarh, UP – A private school teacher, Chandrabhan Kumar, and a minor student were found dead in Hotel Royal Respite in Aligarh. Police suspect the two died by suicide after consuming poison.
According to officials, the pair had checked into the OYO hotel earlier in the day on May 5th using identity documents. When they did not emerge for over 10 hours and failed to respond to knocks, hotel staff opened the room with a master key and discovered their bodies.
Police investigations revealed that Chandrabhan, a teacher at a local private school, was in a relationship with the girl, reportedly a Class 8 student. Their families had earlier discovered the affair, leading to disputes and the student being withdrawn from tuition. However, the two continued to meet at school.
The girl’s Aadhaar card used for check-in was found to be fake. Local police, along with forensic teams, inspected the scene. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and further legal action is underway.
Police say the situation at the site is under control.
