00:00hi everybody happy Friday I decided to go live today and share my thoughts instead of writing
00:14so this is Angela I'm the health and wellness coach and I usually write the Friday fitness
00:22tips but I wanted to go live today in spite not in spite in regards to everything that is going on
00:31in our world and in our country this week I wanted to give you a little bit of insight into what a
00:39shelter in place may look like I live in the state of California and we currently are sheltering in
00:48place and I wanted to give you firsthand what that may look like because there's so much out there
00:55there's so much going through the internet through social media so I wanted to come
01:02and just share a few things with you and give some tips and just give you a smile and give you some
01:11good news today so we currently are inside our homes we're allowed to go outside we are allowed
01:19to go to the grocery stores we're allowed to go to CVS all of those essential items that we may need
01:25right now our drive-thrus are open at restaurants that have them some of our restaurants are available
01:35for takeout only whomever they deem essential for working they're allowed to go into work
01:44everyone else isn't is working from home and we are walking our dogs outside and let me think what else
01:54I can tell you yes grocery store shelves are low but that's because people panic shopped so what I have learned
02:03in the last oh we've been dealing with this for a few weeks here in the San Francisco area most of
02:13the people have been working from home for probably two weeks on Tuesday morning at 1201 the shelter in
02:21place officially went into place but people panic shopped and that is what caused everything to get low
02:30on the grocery store shelves so those of you living in other states right now if you currently do not
02:35have a shelter in place and you're still sort of going about normal business just make sure you have
02:42some essentials the stores are open trucks are still delivering items so you're not going to run out
02:49of anything moving movement all the gyms are closed so nobody's allowed to go to the gym however you have
03:00your space you have the outdoor so I'm encouraging people move throughout the day don't be at home and
03:08just set all day long but get up and move and if you want some ideas and some tips on our page that my
03:18husband and I have on Facebook it's called the soul fit lifestyle we are going live several times a day
03:25we're sharing workouts we're sharing devotional time of the day we're sharing tips just all kinds of
03:35stuff we go live throughout the day so I would highly recommend you to like our page you're going to get
03:40good information and just some good workout ideas for things you can do at home with no equipment
03:47required get outside get fresh air get sunshine if the sun's not shining still get outside and get
03:55fresh air as much as possible we have two dogs so we're walking our dogs probably every two hours
04:03whether they like it or not we're taking them outside for a walk just to keep that fresh air
04:08we also are limiting we have some rules in place so this is not like you know all right a free-for-all
04:16um we're at home and we're just gonna sit around and watch movies all day long or scroll through
04:22social media no we've put some rules into place um which really my husband and I didn't have to do
04:28that much because we're pretty um aware of our time however um we've heard other families talking
04:34about this that they've come together as a family and made some rules so they have limited screen time
04:41limited social media time um I would also say check the news but don't watch it because if you watch
04:51the news and you scroll through social media too much you may feel some anxiety come into your heart
04:59and your mind and we want to limit that we don't want our anxiety to skyrocket we don't want fear to
05:06come in um we want to have peace so I would say check the news but don't watch it um
05:13this is a really good time for some of those things we've always wanted to do but we never have time
05:19to do this is a good time to practice it and to play around with new recipes I'm recommending nutrient
05:28dense food um don't purchase a lot of packaged snack foods because they don't fill you up and
05:37um you're gonna get hungry as soon as you eat them so I'm encouraging people to have like natural peanut
05:44butter cashew butter almond butter if you're not allergic to those nuts have that on hand um you can
05:51spread it on celery um ezekiel bread or any bread that you can freeze buy a few loaves and stick it in
06:00the freezer um you can make peanut butter sandwiches with those they'd fill you up um we have lovely
06:09carigold butter on hand that we're putting on our sweet potatoes and our veggies that we're making
06:14um we bought some super greens some of the powder so that we make our smoothies and we may not
06:22um have a ton of produce that we're eating all day long but we're getting high nutrients with that
06:27green powder um so for instance yesterday my husband made a smoothie that had oranges in it lemon
06:35he put two oranges in it a half a lemon two kiwi some of our collagen protein powder some macadamia milk
06:44our super greens and I think a little bit of peanut butter again it's on our sulfate lifestyle page it
06:50was a really good very nutrient dense smoothie um full of immune boosting nutrients and so um
07:00again I've posted some of these tips on our page but I would recommend just having some nutrient dense
07:06food eggs we love eggs those are in our refrigerator right now um we like to make
07:14popcorn the old-fashioned way on the stove so I made sure that we had some popcorn um we bought some
07:20real some protein collagen bars so that we could eat those we are still practicing our time restricted
07:28eating we do intermittent fasting and so we're still continuing that right now during our shelter in time
07:36and if you restrict the time of that you eat and you make that smaller um you're not just going to go
07:45into that oh I'm bored let's eat so that will help with that as well um
07:51fill your like we're having three items that we're looking at we're um like there's some goals that we've
07:59been working on so this is a great time to work on them we've got books that we're catching up on
08:04um we've had we love to read and we're always ordering new books and it seems like we never have
08:10enough time to read them so we're filling our mind we're learning right now we're learning more
08:14so that we can help you and serve you all better um I am currently reading a book by I'm trying to walk
08:21and go find it um I am currently reading a book by Dr. Daniel Amen it's called The End of Mental Illness
08:29let me show you so I'm choosing time to read right now and um spending time in devotion spending time
08:41in prayer because we know that prayer changes things it may not change the circumstances right
08:47away but what it does is it brings change to us and it brings calm to us I want to share with you
08:54um a scripture that was in my devotion reading today so all of us right now are in uncertain times
09:03and um we don't know what tomorrow brings we're trying not to think too much of tomorrow let's
09:09live in the present let's live in the now we know that now in this moment we have faith and so that's
09:16all we need right now and we all have been given a measure of faith and all we have to have is a little
09:22grain of a mustard seed kind of faith and we have that so um my scripture today was Philippians 4 7
09:29and the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ
09:37Jesus and right now we need that peace that passes all understanding because we don't understand
09:44everything that is going on right now but we have peace that goes above and beyond that and
09:51it guards our hearts and our minds through Christ Jesus our emotions all of that right now is
10:00covered and so I just wanted to come online for a few minutes to let you know that I'm here
10:07I love you I am praying for all of our supporters I don't know if supporters isn't really the right word
10:15but all of you that follow us here on unveiled I am praying for you I am praying for a hedge of
10:22protection around you I am praying that the peace of God just fills your heart fills your minds fills
10:29your homes um I would love to know what some of you all are doing right now to bring peace into your
10:35home and especially those of you that have children um because right now this is um a scary time for them
10:42as well that's why I think it's good for us to limit what they hear what they see um play some good
10:48music oh my goodness we have access to amazing music that is out there that will just bring peace into
10:55our homes and just um I believe God's presence can fill our homes and our hearts and this is our time to
11:03shine this is our time to let others know of the hope that is in us we have peace not as the world
11:12knows peace but peace that comes from our heavenly father and our heavenly father does have us in his
11:18hands and so I just wanted to encourage you all today let me know if there's anything you can or that
