00:00hi my name is Alicia and this is your first time visiting my channel welcome

00:18you're probably gonna hear a lot of noise because it's 4th of July and I've

00:20been filming these back to back back you're gonna be seeing me wear a bunch

00:24of the same clothes I'm a repeat offender no shame in my game back car red let's see

00:34red and white and blue I don't know where some of my 4th of July gear went I feel

00:41like it's been disappearing over the years but I do have a little red white and blue

00:50little outfit here kind of so what's up

00:59salt water so let's get on the topic already cuz I don't want my battery to

01:08die in between fireworks and everything making noise let's just get to it

01:14um after Tory Bowie died it really affected me because being a black lady

01:22and I'm at the age now where every Tom Dick and Harry in my circles are trying to

01:30ask are you gonna have kids and the answer is no I am on the child-free side

01:35and with some of the medical issues I have I just decided a long time ago I'm not

01:40having kids but I think I want to keep her legacy alive and honor her by being a

01:50advocate for other black women who are experiencing childbirth and just educate

01:59myself because it's scary after watching aftershock or just a little bit of it I

02:05said that's still still for me after what happened Tory Boeing fireworks see you're

02:09gonna be here in a bunch of fireworks and other random stuff you know after

02:15watching aftershock and Tory Boeing and just being in many child free groups I

02:21just decided hey being a mom's not for me but being an auntie a hundred percent is

02:26I know a lot of my cousins want to be parents or already our parents and

02:34advocating for black women and childbirth is kind of I'd rather do that more to be a

02:43mom like when I wake up in the morning being a mom is not my desire but advocating

02:51for other women and advocating for black women in the child yeah let me try that

02:57again when I wake up in the morning and dream at night is not oh I want to be a

03:04mom it's how can I be an advocate for other black women in labor and delivery how

03:11can I do my research how can I help mom and see that mom has self-care and like I

03:21said watching aftershock and what happened Tory Boeing really sealed the deal for me

03:28and I keep getting like all kind of like weird messages from guys hey you want to

03:35be a mom nope and at this point I would rather advocate raise concerns with doctors be

03:50supportive of all the women especially black women who choose to be moms then me

03:57be a parent myself and being somebody who didn't feel really supported at

04:06different periods of my life and people at my school wanting to beat my ass down

04:11so bad that they just want to see Alicia suffering I kind of want to be the

04:16support I never received and I feel like this is my way of doing that by asking

04:21the hard questions being an advocate hey just standing up and being supportive of

04:26somebody who needs me and if I see a mom under distress especially a mom that's in

04:33my life take the kids for the weekend so mom can have time for herself because I've

04:38had a lot of people pass away from suicide and mom suicide prevention is one of my

04:44causes and if I can step up in that way I will and just be a listening ear also

04:55because I'm just going straight up tell you I damn don't have all the answers I want to

05:02stay in my lanes in my own business but also be supportive and be helpful so

05:08that's how I plan on honoring her legacy just advocating for as many black women as I

05:14can in my own life advocating for black women and their self-care just being

05:22auntie Alicia like I think that's just my way of going about it

05:33so I'm trying to think if there is there something else I really want to say

05:40right now I really don't have much to say but as a child free woman I just want to

05:48always do my homework if I know that one of my girls is about to have a kid follow

05:54along on her journey but personally I've never had a huge desire to have kids even

06:00from a very early age so and people have been asking me you know how come you've

06:07been so successful with so many different things that's because I'm in alignment with

06:11my hey so it cut me off I'm in alignment with my purpose and don't forget who you are or were

06:22before the world told you how to be you know forget what the world wants for you you got to

06:28figure out what you want for yourself and once I started doing that everything has been falling in

06:33place now life ain't perfect I don't have everything I want but the key is to be

06:38grateful for what you do have and keep on keeping on so let me uh in this it's fourth of July but I

06:49don't know which holiday you'll be seeing this video on but you know happy fourth of July happy

06:55Halloween Merry Christmas whichever holiday you see this on best wishes you know this one little cool thing
