High in the snowy cliffs of Windspire Mountain,

an eagle named Arden ruled the skies.

His wings sliced through clouds, and his sharp eyes

could spot a mouse from miles away.

He was proud, fierce, and flew alone, as eagles do.

Far below, in a cozy farmyard nestled

at the foot of the mountain, a tiny yellow chick named

Pip lived a very different life.

Pip was small, fluffy, and always curious.

While the other chicks pecked the ground

or huddled under the hen's wings,

Pip would stare up at the sky,

dreaming of what it would feel like to fly.

Chicks don't fly, plucked his mother.

Stay on the ground where it's safe.

But Pip couldn't stop dreaming.

One day, a great storm rolled in.

Thunder cracked, lightning flashed,

and the wind howled through the valley.

The rain flooded the farm, and in the chaos, Pip was swept away,

tumbling, tumbling, until he landed

near the rocky edge of the mountain.

Cold, frightened, and lost, Pip chirped for help,

but the forest was silent.

Above, Arden was flying through the storm,

searching for shelter.

His sharp ears caught a tiny cry.

Curious, he swooped down, and there,

trembling beneath a fern, was the tiny chick.

What are you doing here, little one?

Arden asked in his deep voice.

I got lost in the storm, Pip peeped.

I want to go home.

You're far from home, Arden said.

But I will help you.

With surprising gentleness, the mighty eagle picked Pip up in his talons,

and soared into the sky.

Pip clung to a feather,

eyes wide with wonder.

Never had he imagined the world from so high.

The trees looked like broccoli,

the rivers like silver ribbons,

and the clouds like pillows drifting by.

On the way back, the storm worsened.

The winds grew wild, tossing Arden to and fro.

He could no longer see the farm through the fog.

He landed on a rocky ledge and tucked Pip under his wing.

Rest, he said.

We'll try again at sunrise.

That night, Pip asked,

Arden, how did you learn to fly so high?

Arden looked at the stars.

I fell. Many times. But I kept trying.

Flying takes more than wings. It takes courage.

The next morning, the skies cleared.

Arden flew Pip home safely.

The farm animals gasped to see the mighty eagle gently placing the chick on the grass.

Thank you, Arden. Pip chirped, bouncing with joy.

Be brave little one, Arden said, before soaring away.

From that day on, Pip was different.

He walked taller, looked higher, and whenever the other chick said,

you can't fly, he smiled and whispered, not yet.

And up in the sky, Arden watched from the clouds,

proud of the tiny chick who dared to dream.
