00:00Most species don't eat their own and even among members of those species, you won't often find

00:07blood relations assaulting each other. The reason is simple. The body wants to propagate the DNA.

00:14So if it has to kill, it chooses to kill a distant DNA. That's the reason parents care so much for

00:22their offspring. That's the reason when someone who does not want to produce a kid tells of her

00:28decision to her parents. They say, but you know, your baby is after all your own. If you adopt a

00:34baby, it won't be the same thing. And if you question, they will not know the answer because

00:38they have not studied evolutionary biology. The answer is simple. Your baby does not carry your

00:44and the entire thing about reproduction is the furtherance of your own DNA. That's what the

00:49animal inside us wants. My DNA should continue. My DNA should continue.
