One shot album for the Italian prog rock band Murple, formed in Rome in 1971. Originally released only for German BASF label "Io sono Murple" is a concept album and consists of two long suites divided into six movements that tell the sad story of the penguin Murple who, to escape the immutable daily routine of his life, spontaneously decides to move away from his natural habitat the pack. Unfortunately, he will not have time to enjoy the wonders of the world because he will be captured by man and forced to perform first in a circus and finally in a zoo, where he will end his days hugging a small plastic iceberg. The connection between the tracks run through heavy guitars, Hammond organ, and ponding bass, to soft/melodic interludes, to early techno-sounding experimentation. The group reunited 34 years later and released the CD "Quadri di una esposizione" (Mussorgsky's Pictures at an exibition).
