00:00Hello, thanks for joining me for your afternoon weather update from the Met Office.

00:03If you are watching on YouTube, don't forget to hit subscribe and then you'll never miss a forecast.

00:08The weather is a bit mixed. Most places having a dry day today, but some places staying cloudy,

00:14others seeing quite a bit of sunshine. There's a big swirl of cloud out in the Atlantic,

00:18an area of low pressure, but it's only making very slow progress towards the UK.

00:24This weather front is going to sit across Northern Ireland tomorrow and bring quite a wet day.

00:28But for today, it's not really having too much of an impact and most places staying dry.

00:34There are zones that are cloudier than others. Parts of eastern England staying pretty glum.

00:39A bit more cloud over parts of southwest England and Wales too.

00:42The odd shower is possible here and the cloud close to the east coast thick enough at times

00:47for maybe a little bit of drizzle here and there.

00:49We're seeing some sunny spells there. Parts of western Scotland in particular

00:53and elsewhere the cloud breaking up at times to reveal a little bit of sunshine.

00:56And of course, the sun and the wind direction in particular make a huge difference to the feel

01:01and the temperature at this time of year.

01:04We could, in the sunny spells, squeak up to the high teens in places,

01:07but around the coasts, particularly if it stays quite grey in the east coast,

01:11we may struggle to get out of single digits.

01:14As we go through the evening and overnight, we'll start to see more of an influence from that weather front.

01:18So the cloud will thicken more and more across Northern Ireland.

01:20Rain coming into the west by this evening and then spreading right across Northern Ireland

01:25by first thing tomorrow morning.

01:27We could see some of that rain and drizzle just getting into the west coast of Wales,

01:31maybe the far southwest of Scotland by morning time.

01:33But elsewhere, it's generally a dry night.

01:36Still some thick cloud across parts of the east, if anything,

01:38that'll move back inland from the North Sea.

01:41And where we've got the clear skies, that's where we'll see the lowest temperatures.

01:45And it will be quite a chilly night if skies stay clear all night,

01:49well down into single figures, even in towns and cities and rural spots,

01:53where we may even see a few pockets of frost.

01:55But in the west, we're staying well above freezing as the cloud thickens and the breeze picks up.

02:00That's going to make for a pretty wet day for Northern Ireland tomorrow.

02:03Outbreaks of rain on and off throughout the day.

02:05Some heavy bursts of rain likely, particularly over the Sparrens and the Morns.

02:09And that rain, as I say, really building up through the day.

02:12Some of it getting into the west coast of Scotland.

02:14The Outer Hebrides having quite a damp afternoon.

02:16The breeze picking up here too.

02:18The odd shower is possible in western parts of England and Wales also.

02:22But for the majority, it will be another dry day tomorrow.

02:24And again, a mixture of cloud and sunshine.

02:27A great start in the east, but it should cheer up here

02:29as that cloud tends to move away from the areas back out into the North Sea during the afternoon.

02:36Temperature-wise, though, again, a bit of a struggle in some of those North Sea coasts.

02:39Single digits, certainly feeling cooler than today with the rain across Northern Ireland.

02:4310 or 11 at best here, but elsewhere with some bright and sunny spells.

02:46Mid to high teens, 18, 19 possible in one or two locations.

02:51That weather front, I say, very slow progress.

02:53Still withers through Friday evening across Northern Ireland.

02:56Still some heavy pulses, particularly in the west.

02:58A bit more showery rain may creep into West Wales,

03:01southwest England during Friday evening.

03:03The weekends, we'll see that weather front tend to fizzle out

03:07before something a bit warmer comes into the south on Sunday.
