02:01Eu estou trabalhando full-time e vou part-time para a escola.
02:06My husband helped me out a lot.
02:10By the time I get home, he's already started dinner.
02:13Eu was 40 when we got married,
02:16so I was just looking for somebody that would be a good companion for me,
02:19and so weight has never really been an issue for...
02:22I don't guess for either one of us.
02:24She's been through a lot and things that would cause somebody
02:28to go into depressions and overeat.
02:31After my parents divorced, when I was one, my mom came to the U.S. to live with her parents.
02:39She would call me, I'm fat, and you're just so fat, and stop eating.
02:43After so much being told that you're fat, you're fat, it's okay, so I am.
02:49I had three children with my first husband.
02:52Within the nine months that I was pregnant with my first daughter, I gained 100 pounds.
02:57How can a woman gain 100 pounds in pregnancy?
03:01After I had my other two children, I just couldn't keep the weight off.
03:07Those thoughts of how I didn't make my marriage work, about how a horrible mother I am because I don't spend a lot of time with my kids because I'm always working.
03:16Every time I would feel like that, I just ran to food.
03:21That was my comfort.
03:31Big Kev, that's all they always call me, Big Kev.
03:35That's the name that kind of went from, I guess, high school to now, Big Kev.
03:43I like food.
03:44I like to eat it.
03:45Here you go, man.
03:47My thing with my problem is I don't know, sometimes I don't know when to stop or I don't know what's too much.
03:52Depending on how hungry he is, Kevin made two plates or three.
03:59Uh-uh, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, slow down.
04:02Slow down.
04:04You just can't be stuffing all that in your mouth.
04:07My eating affects everybody in my family.
04:10My obesity affects everybody in my family.
04:13I realize that I'm going to put my kids on the same track I'm on.
04:18My earliest memory of being overweight was probably around 14, 15.
04:23My mother saw all the same things.
04:25Like, well, it's getting hard to find your clothes.
04:27And once I got married, I picked up a lot of weight.
04:29And Ms. Harris said I was very helpful.
04:32I have two young kids and a teenager who I'm raising is my nephew.
04:37Come on, come on.
04:38My daughter says, you know, she wants me to teach her how to play basketball.
04:43And my son, he's getting more active and he likes to run around.
04:46Kevin, throw him, throw him in the ball.
04:47I want my family to do things that everybody else's family does.
04:50They should have the father that's fit enough to enjoy life.
04:54Is that first down?
04:56We went through all types of, you know, weight loss programs.
04:59I tried to motivate him by making him walk with me or exercise with me.
05:04And I don't think Kevin really saw himself as being overweight, as being obese, but taking
05:11a toll on him.
05:12Move over something, Carvin.
05:14Right there.
05:15I'm a middle school teacher.
05:16I'm a coach as well.
05:18Football and basketball.
05:19We're going to do what?
05:20We're going to stay with him until he comes back.
05:26I don't want to fail my kids as a coach, you know, fail myself as a person.
05:30I love my family and I want to be here with them.
05:41Jerry, do you want tea?
05:42Yes.
05:42I think as a family, we say, yeah, you can have that Twinkie.
05:48I'll just take the other half.
05:52We need to find ways to lose weight.
05:54I want to be able to learn how to do meals.
05:56I want to learn how to teach my kids.
05:59Me and George have started thinking about having another child, which the kids are excited
06:06about.
06:07The only way that can happen, according to my doctor, is I go down to 240 pounds.
06:13I really need to be healthy.
06:17The last time I went to the doctor, they found that I had diabetes.
06:21So it's not something I'm looking forward to.
06:26And you don't want to put extra pumps in there.
06:30Are you taking any medications?
06:35Can you take a big breath in and out for me?
06:39Flora's short and heavy with diabetes and sleep apnea.
06:44I mean, she's at risk.
06:45Her husband's considerably heavier than she is, 466 pounds.
06:49They're probably bouncing their bad behavior off each other a little bit.
06:52When you have a partner who's obese as well, particularly if the partner's doing the cooking,
06:58that's sort of reinforcement for the wrong things.
07:01So I don't see her making progress independent of him, not from what it sounds like.
07:07You already have diabetes, which is fairly recently diagnosed in your case.
07:12It can lead to renal failure, soft tissue infections.
07:15People get amputations because of it.
07:17The obesity is likely to cause other medical problems, for instance, heart attacks and strokes.
07:22It's just like a slap in the face.
07:25I don't want the next thing to come with this to be that I have a heart attack.
07:30When I found out I had diabetes, I went to the emergency room, they checked me in,
07:39and I think I went into like a semi-coma for about a week.
07:45I don't know why I got nervous now.
07:52So what is it?
07:53It's high.
07:54It's 191.
07:55It's high.
07:56That is high.
08:00596 pounds.
08:03Is that correct?
08:04So you put on about 300 since high school.
08:06Oh, yeah.
08:07Do you do more than one plate when you eat dinner?
08:09Um, once upon a time I did with Lele.
08:12So where are all these calories coming from?
08:15He's taking in extreme amounts of calories, even though he won't really admit to that.
08:20Step up here first.
08:23Uh-huh.
08:24Can you get up on that okay?
08:25All right.
08:26You cannot carry that amount of weight around very long and sustain it at 600 pounds.
08:31Not possible.
08:32You should not have, at 39 years of age, high blood pressure.
08:36You should not have type 2 diabetes or sleep apnea.
08:40You have young children.
08:41I think if you intend to be around for them, you're going to have to get your weight down.
08:47It's as simple as that.
08:49I think you're taking in a lot more than you realize you are.
08:51I mean, I love my children a lot.
09:00I want to be there as long as I can.
09:03And I don't want my kids to live in fear of their dad dying like that.
09:07I'm ready to lose this weight.
09:10It's time for me to take the rest of my life back for me and my family.
09:15It's been a cycle of pregnancies and then a cycle of stress.
09:19I have unintentionally hurt my kids.
09:24And if I were to die, my kids would probably end up like me or worse.
09:29It's time.
09:30It's time for me at least to take control of my life.
09:38Nervous.
09:39I know it's not a competition, but I just want to make something good of this opportunity.
09:44I'm very nervous.
09:46I don't even know what I'm getting into.
09:48Let me just show you around through the grounds a little bit.
09:50It's beautiful.
09:51Yeah.
09:52It's a beautiful area.
09:57So you're welcome to use our hydro bikes, which are right here.
10:00They're kind of like bicycles on pontoons.
10:04Yeah.
10:05It's comfy.
10:09David Richardson.
10:10Kevin Jackson.
10:11Kevin Jackson.
10:11Nice and nice.
10:12How you doing, Ms. Rich?
10:12Hi, are you four?
10:15Yes, ma'am.
10:15I'm Brittany.
10:16First week is going to feel like boot camp to these bodies coming in.
10:20Nobody's fully prepared.
10:21I do have to ask one real good pertinent question.
10:24What was that?
10:25Do you have any food with you today?
10:27No.
10:27During the first month, the controlled environment is going to be very strict.
10:31We're going to be taking away any snacks, any foods, anything that would unfocus them for what they were here for.
10:37Is this your bag?
10:37Yeah.
10:38Do you mind if I go ahead and check through it at all?
10:41Go ahead.
10:41Okay.
10:42I can't find any food in here.
10:43No.
10:43Okay.
10:45Man, it came out of my classroom.
10:47I promise you I did not buy them.
10:49There should be another one in there because I didn't need them.
10:51There is another one in there?
10:52There should be another one in there.
10:53Please don't tell me there's another one in there, Kevin.
10:55I'm going to tell you there's another one in there.
10:56There's another one in here, Kevin.
10:59I purchased those things before I even got here.
11:07Kevin, you want to live?
11:11You love your family?
11:12Yes, I do.
11:13You love your kids?
11:14Yes, I do.
11:15Okay.
11:16Don't lie to me.
11:18And that's what he did.
11:19He tried to lie, so I had to make a point.
11:21Let's go with me real quick.
11:22All right.
11:23I'm on down.
11:24We're going to speed walk a little bit.
11:25You follow me.
11:26Let's go.
11:26Come on.
11:27Trucking, what you got for me?
11:28I thought you were here.
11:29I thought you were ready for this.
11:31No more candy.
11:32No more chocolate.
11:33You're here for your family.
11:34You're here for your kids.
11:36You're here for your life.
11:37We're here to make a change.
11:38Let's go.
11:39There you go.
11:40Come on.
11:41Come on.
11:42What did you tell me you were here for?
11:43Live.
11:44What else?
11:45I love my children.
11:46What else?
11:46I love my family.
11:47I want to live.
11:48There you go.
11:53What's up, Mr. Kev?
11:54Hey, hey, hey.
11:55How you doing?
11:55How you doing?
11:56We're in sync in here.
11:58All right.
11:58Y'all ready to rock?
12:03With Kevin and Floor,
12:04this is an opportunity
12:06to have someone there
12:07to root you on
12:08and for them to root
12:09the other person on.
12:11Eight.
12:12Really make them tight.
12:14Give me abs.
12:14Give me abs.
12:15Give me abs.
12:16Give me abs.
12:16Good.
12:17Bring it down.
12:17I heard about Kevin first
12:19through David,
12:20so I was like,
12:21this guy's going to be trouble.
12:22What?
12:23For all the reasons
12:24that you want it, please.
12:26I'll try.
12:26Good.
12:27The first time working out with him,
12:28he's been,
12:29I'll try.
12:30I'll try.
12:30Can you give me eight more?
12:31Yeah, I'll try.
12:32Definitely encouraging
12:33that he's not going to say no.
12:35I hope that it's getting
12:36into his head
12:37that he wants to do this.
12:39Come on.
12:40Push.
12:41Eighteen.
12:41First work out with Floor,
12:43I could definitely tell
12:44that she had a lot of spunk to her.
12:46One.
12:47Two.
12:48Up on her toes.
12:48She knew it was going
12:49to take a lot of work.
12:51Four.
12:51Beautiful.
12:52Again.
12:53Five.
12:53Good.
12:54She may not have the stamina,
12:56but she definitely had the heart.
12:58Good job.
12:58Heart rate got up there
12:59a little bit, huh?
13:00How you feeling?
13:00Very good.
13:02Not good?
13:03Okay.
13:04Nice deep breaths.
13:05The muscle burn,
13:06the heart rate spiking,
13:07there's going to be
13:08a lot of pain
13:09in the first week
13:09and they're going to have
13:10to get their bodies
13:11to where they can do this.
13:17At least you got
13:18a good awesome workout
13:19in before you actually
13:20let it loose.
13:22You're so close.
13:24You're so close.
13:24Five.
13:25Don't stop.
13:26Don't stop.
13:27Come on down.
13:28And back up.
13:30Eight.
13:30The first two days
13:32all I did was puke.
13:34It was scary.
13:36Kick, kick, kick, kick, kick, kick.
13:37All the way, all the way,
13:38all the way.
13:38Come on, get to this wall.
13:39Get to this wall.
13:41Those first days
13:42had me ready to jump
13:43out the damn gate
13:44and get away from here.
13:45Five.
13:46Come on.
13:47Six.
13:47I was like,
13:48oh, what in the hell
13:49have I gotten myself into?
13:51Ten.
13:51Keep going.
13:52Five more.
13:52Five.
13:53And halibut, green beans.
13:56Are you allergic?
13:57I just don't eat it.
13:58There you go.
14:01Look at that.
14:02The food situation,
14:03all that shit's got to straighten up
14:04because we're doing
14:05these hellified workouts here
14:06and we're basically running on nothing.
14:10They're not on a starvation diet.
14:12They were used to eating
14:1310,000 calories a day at home,
14:15so certainly it may feel like deprivation,
14:18but in reality,
14:19they are getting
14:19a healthy, balanced menu.
14:21We've got six.
14:22Now take ownership.
14:23Count it.
14:24Five.
14:25One.
14:25Beautiful.
14:26It wasn't easy putting the weight on.
14:28It's not going to be easy
14:28taking it off,
14:29but we're going down the right path.
14:31All right.
14:31All right?
14:32Let's keep it going.
14:34Come on this floor.
14:36Three, five, point six.
14:38Three pounds.
14:40Yes!
14:40That's a solid three pounds.
14:42Yes!
14:42I think they're going to be bigger
14:43than yours.
14:44Look at that.
14:44I got you here, Kevin.
14:45Let's see what you got.
14:46Today, 576.2.
14:50That gave me a very good feeling.
14:52Chip away at it bit by bit,
14:54piece by piece.
14:55Good job.
14:58Why don't you just tell me
14:59more about yourself,
15:00of what negative experiences
15:02you've had in life.
15:04In our family,
15:05you just don't talk about things.
15:07So the first thing
15:07that comes to your mind?
15:09My stepfather molesting me.
15:13I was probably like in...
15:16maybe fourth grade.
15:19Fourth grade.
15:20Yeah.
15:21I never told my mom
15:22during that time.
15:24I didn't know
15:25that I could just say something
15:29and make it stop.
15:31I've said to myself,
15:32you ruined my childhood.
15:34You're not going to do this
15:35to my adulthood.
15:36And yet he did.
15:38When a child is abused,
15:40it wounds them
15:41and it affects
15:42the way they see themselves.
15:44She would just self-medicate it,
15:45which led her to food
15:46because that's what
15:47she was in control of.
15:48You feel better?
15:49Yes.
15:51I'm glad.
15:51I feel relieved.
15:55I'm just going to use that
15:56to encourage me
15:58to accomplish
15:59what I need to do.
16:00Sprint, sprint, sprint,
16:02sprint, sprint, sprint.
16:04942, 943, sprint, sprint.
16:08You know, I love myself
16:10and I had forgotten about that
16:11and I think that's why
16:12I've gained so much weight.
16:14Floor, he's touching you, Floor.
16:15Let's go, Floor.
16:16Let's go.
16:17I put it to,
16:18oh, it's because I've had kids
16:20or oh, it's because of this
16:22or because of that.
16:23It's just somewhere
16:24in my life I've lost me.
16:27Four, you got it, Floor.
16:28Five, I know you do.
16:30Seven, eight.
16:32Oh my goodness.
16:33Every day it's a challenge.
16:34Five, six, seven.
16:37My goal is to lose
16:38at least 20 pounds every month
16:41and I can see myself doing that.
16:43Nine, yes.
16:44Yes, sir.
16:45Good job, good job.
16:47So today, step on.
16:54Let's see your weight.
16:56297.6.
16:58Woo!
16:59297.6.
17:04I'm finally out of the 300s.
17:06I feel so much better.
17:08I'm accomplishing so much.
17:09Very good job.
17:10Okay, Kevin,
17:11let's have you step on.
17:14560.8.
17:16560.8.
17:20You got your goal, man.
17:21You got your goal.
17:23I'm seeing some good positive results
17:25when I hit that scale.
17:26I feel good.
17:28I just can't explain it.
17:29Oh, man.
17:30Yeah!
17:31Four, three, two, one.
17:37Good job.
17:38Good job.
17:39Good job, Kev.
17:41Come on down.
17:42Let's talk, guys.
17:43Let's talk.
17:44You all did work really, really hard
17:46and we're very proud of you.
17:48So we're gonna have you
17:49take an option of a reward,
17:51all right?
17:52Floor, you can have a movie
17:54or a phone call home.
17:55Which one would you like?
17:56I'd rather have a movie.
17:58Good.
17:59My husband,
18:00he said,
18:01first time you get
18:02a chance to call,
18:03call me.
18:04and I chose not to call.
18:08You gotta be a little selfish right now
18:10because in order for you
18:11to even be there for your family,
18:13you gotta help yourself first.
18:14So there's nothing wrong with that.
18:17Good.
18:17Head chest up.
18:19Seven.
18:20These 30 days are to focus on me.
18:25Thinking of being back at home
18:27started to get overwhelming.
18:30I'm not going back to that mentality.
18:32slow, slow, slow.
18:35Floor is dealing with a lot
18:36from her past.
18:37She's dealing with a lot
18:38from her present.
18:39Two.
18:41One.
18:42I really hope
18:43that she can get it together
18:44before it's too late.
18:46It is a lot of pressure
18:47because if I don't get healthy,
18:50I could die.
18:5515.
18:5815.
18:5914.
19:00Pump those arms.
19:01Pump those arms.
19:03There you go.
19:03Get up on those toes too
19:04when you get up.
19:05Pull that water.
19:06Pull it.
19:06We're going to get somewhere.
19:07Pull.
19:08Woo, y'all are looking good.
19:10Two more.
19:1014.
19:11I know it's burning.
19:11Don't stop.
19:1215.
19:13Come on.
19:13It's incredible to see
19:14the transformation
19:15that Floor is doing right now.
19:1721.
19:18Four more.
19:19Four more.
19:20Floor.
19:2022.
19:21The stamina
19:22is really starting to come along.
19:25I want to do the bike again.
19:27I'm afraid to touch the water
19:29because there might be snakes.
19:31Yay!
19:32The talk with the counselor
19:34helped me a lot.
19:3615.
19:3816.
19:39There you go, Floor.
19:4017.
19:40Gut it out.
19:41This is my time.
19:43It's not something
19:44I'm going to get ever again.
19:47Really want to control that breathing.
19:49Floor is on it.
19:51Floor is killing it.
19:52Okay, guess what?
19:53What?
19:54We're going back up.
19:55Oh.
19:56But Kevin
19:58gets really tired and emotional.
20:00I'm going to get another one for 10.
20:0114.
20:02Exhale.
20:03When he first started,
20:04he would work out really hard.
20:05Exhale.
20:05Oh, man.
20:07What's it burning?
20:08What's it burning?
20:09Right now,
20:10his workouts are going down.
20:12Tell him we're going to eat.
20:13You don't think
20:14you're going to eat tonight?
20:16Kevin is breaking down
20:17from the types of food
20:18he's having to eat
20:19and he's letting it bother him.
20:22Oh, my God.
20:22Maybe I am breaking down
20:24a little bit.
20:25Maybe I am cracking up
20:26a little bit.
20:27You know,
20:27got a lot weighing
20:28on my mind right now.
20:29Six.
20:30I don't care about the reasons.
20:32I don't care about the excuses.
20:33What I care about
20:34is the success.
20:36Ten.
20:41Weight loss
20:42is not just about
20:43physical weight loss.
20:45It's about weight loss
20:47that's internal,
20:48resolving everything
20:49in the past
20:50that could be
20:51a hindrance to you.
20:52I lost two sons.
20:53Two sons.
20:54Two sons.
20:54She lost two children.
20:56Tell me about that.
20:57My wife called me.
20:58She told me something
20:58was going on with her.
21:00She was in labor.
21:01It was like,
21:02well, it's too early
21:02to be in labor.
21:04Unfortunately,
21:04a few days later,
21:05he was born and died.
21:07Two weeks later,
21:08the second one came.
21:10He died.
21:11I don't know what I'm talking about.
21:13She blamed me.
21:14Who blamed you?
21:15My wife.
21:16She thought I hated her
21:17for losing the boy.
21:18She thought you hated her.
21:21Because I didn't say anything.
21:23But the truth is,
21:25I didn't know what to say.
21:26Yeah.
21:27One of Kevin's greatest challenges
21:29is that he stays distant.
21:31I didn't know.
21:33I didn't know what to say.
21:35I didn't know what to do.
21:37Creates frustration, anger,
21:39he gets overwhelmed,
21:40and then he goes and eats.
21:41And I believe
21:42that's Kevin's main issue.
21:44I had a talk
21:45with the therapist today.
21:47I'm just trying my best
21:48to maintain my sanity
21:50and take it day by day.
21:52Come on, Cav.
21:53Come on, Cav.
21:54Plow through.
21:55Plow through.
21:56The workouts this week
21:57definitely have been difficult.
21:59Two.
22:01Three.
22:02Oh, these are the easy ones.
22:03I can't expect a miracle
22:04in 30 days.
22:10Okay.
22:10Okay.
22:14Nice.
22:16You are at 290.6.
22:18Yes.
22:19Woo!
22:21Good job.
22:23Okay.
22:24You are at 552.6.
22:28Two pounds.
22:29Two pounds.
22:31Do you think
22:32you've done everything
22:33it takes to move forward?
22:35Yeah.
22:35Do you feel like
22:36you cheated in any type of way?
22:38No.
22:38Then you have nothing
22:40to be worried about.
22:41He said to me
22:42that he did everything
22:43at full speed
22:44and, you know,
22:45didn't miss a beat.
22:46That wasn't the truth.
22:48Hey, guys,
22:49we're going to go ahead
22:49and check everybody's room
22:51right now.
22:51We'll start with you, Kevin.
22:54There's a rumor
22:55that a couple of subjects
22:56are eating
22:57other people's food.
22:59If it's true,
23:00I'm going to be highly upset.
23:06Kevin,
23:07you got any contraband?
23:08No.
23:09What's this?
23:10That steak.
23:11That was part of my dinner.
23:13Steak?
23:14Yes.
23:14I thought I could save it
23:16for later
23:16and maybe eat it later on.
23:18Kevin definitely
23:18has an addiction to food.
23:21What about these?
23:23Those are mine.
23:24Whose order?
23:25I don't know.
23:26He's an addict.
23:28An addict is an individual
23:30who becomes super manipulative
23:32to get what they want.
23:34I go in that gym
23:35and I go hard.
23:36Every time I go in that gym,
23:38I'm not taking nothing off
23:39no bar,
23:40I haven't even been
23:41getting my salad.
23:42I haven't even been
23:43asking for the vegetables.
23:45Today I eat...
23:46Those are the biggest
23:46things we need.
23:49It's hard to eat the food
23:50but the salad
23:51has gotten on my nerves.
23:53It just sounds like
23:54crap to me.
23:55We're talking about
23:56an individual that
23:57when you say justify,
23:59he's the epitome
23:59of justification.
24:00I cannot eat the salad
24:02and I'm not going to eat it.
24:04Can you get the steamed veggies?
24:05Steamed veggies.
24:06If he doesn't get
24:08his mind right
24:09and stop these
24:10justifications,
24:12he's going to have
24:12some problems.
24:16Stay, pace it, pace it.
24:19You can do it.
24:22Floor, you can do it.
24:23Let's go.
24:24Mountain climbers.
24:26There you go.
24:28I hadn't thought about
24:29my schedule in three weeks.
24:31Good job, Floor.
24:32Keep it up.
24:32Hold me in.
24:33Hold me in.
24:34When we got to
24:36the training today,
24:37I started thinking,
24:38what am I going to do
24:39when I get home?
24:40You've got to be able
24:40to push yourselves
24:41when you're at home.
24:42No one in your family
24:44needs you more than you.
24:47I went in with
24:48a hundred things
24:50going through my head
24:51and the trainers
24:51noticed right away.
24:54Stop.
24:56Let's start fresh.
24:59Okay?
25:00Let's start fresh.
25:01This is where we got to
25:07dig the deepest.
25:09When everybody is at home
25:11that's going to be trying
25:12to get mom to do this,
25:13mom to do that,
25:15that's when you got to
25:16dig the deepest
25:16and say,
25:17no, guys,
25:18I need to finish my workout.
25:24This is what it's going
25:25to take right here.
25:26I'm not going to stop.
25:27My time is not up.
25:28I'm not going to quit.
25:29Yes, yes, yes.
25:32Kevin's making progress.
25:34He's starting to open
25:35his eyes a little,
25:35which is really exciting.
25:37Yeah!
25:39As time goes on,
25:41my attitude gets better
25:42because I know why I'm here.
25:44Man, I'm not going to
25:45live much longer
25:46if I don't get this weight
25:47under control.
25:48Very good job.
25:50Keep it going.
25:50Come on, baby.
25:51Come on.
25:52I'm surprising myself
25:54in the ability
25:55that I have,
25:57the power that I have
25:58in my body.
25:59Good job.
26:01I'm changing,
26:02physically and mentally.
26:05You sure you want
26:06to do this?
26:06Let's just do it.
26:09So I decided
26:10my hair has to start
26:12all over again.
26:14So you want to be
26:14a transeller?
26:16No, I just want
26:17to be me.
26:18Okay.
26:19Well, you're about
26:20to be you.
26:22It feels
26:23like I don't
26:25have anything.
26:26You don't?
26:27It feels
26:27like relief.
26:29I want to say
26:30Yeah!
26:32All right!
26:35I love you,
26:36I love you,
26:36I love you.
26:36I love you.
26:37I love you.
26:37I love you.
26:38I love you.
26:39Woo-hoo!
26:40No limits, baby.
26:44Hey, hey.
26:45G.I. floor.
26:48Let's see
26:49where you are today.
26:52You're now at 287.6,
26:55so in a month
26:56you've lost 20 pounds.
26:5720 pounds.
26:5820 pounds.
26:58That's a little
26:59under a pound per day.
27:00You've got to be
27:01proud of yourself.
27:02Come on.
27:03Hey, Cap!
27:04What's going on, man?
27:05What are you doing here?
27:06Going home.
27:07You're going home.
27:08You know,
27:10last week I was
27:11kind of frustrated,
27:12you know.
27:13I only lost
27:14two pounds last week
27:15and I was like,
27:15I was really looking
27:16forward to busting
27:17that 550 mark.
27:18You originally
27:19started at 596.7.
27:21Let's see
27:22where you are today.
27:26596.8.
27:27Yeah!
27:29Yeah.
27:30Wow.
27:31Yeah.
27:32You know,
27:3250 pounds in 30 days
27:34is a big feat.
27:37Oh,
27:37you want to put that
27:38back on there?
27:39Nah, I'll do it.
27:40You want to put that
27:41back on there?
27:41Nah,
27:42I'm just,
27:42I'm just losing weight.
27:45Losing weight
27:45is not an easy thing,
27:47but it's not something
27:48that's impossible to do.
27:49See y'all later.
27:51Bye, Cap.
27:51Bye, buddy.
27:52Floor has way
28:06too much on her plate.
28:08I mean,
28:08she has a family.
28:09She has a full-time job.
28:11She's still in school.
28:13Stress
28:13is definitely
28:14going to affect her
28:15getting up to work out
28:16and she's definitely
28:17going to struggle.
28:18Close last time.
28:19Oh!
28:19Kevin's lost weight
28:23in a controlled environment.
28:25The real issue at hand
28:27is still his addiction
28:28to food.
28:29Kevin has a lot
28:30of weight to lose
28:31and if he doesn't
28:32lose it and lose it now,
28:34he's going to
28:35earn the risk of death.
28:37My family needs
28:38to get prepared
28:39because there will be changes.
28:42I don't want to go back
28:43to 300 pounds.
28:45There's no way back.
28:49Being secluded
28:52for 30 days,
28:53I think it was
28:54a time to focus on me,
28:55time to putting
28:56the responsibility
28:57back at me.
29:02Oh, my God!
29:03You're like a skinny boy!
29:07You're tall!
29:09You're in a skinny!
29:12You know,
29:1350 pounds
29:14in 30 days
29:14is a big feat.
29:16I'm not going
29:16to set any goals
29:17for myself.
29:18I'm just going
29:18to work out
29:19and do the things
29:20I need to do.
29:21Well, come on, Kevin,
29:22let her see you!
29:23His hand's falling out!
29:25Yeah!
29:26Hey!
29:26Oh!
29:27Oh!
29:28Oh!
29:29Oh!
29:32Oh, okay!
29:36Oh, what are we cooking?
29:38This is what he is,
29:38not for you.
29:40Kevin,
29:41he has issues
29:42that he's going
29:42to be dealing with
29:43when he goes home.
29:45Pork chops.
29:46All right!
29:46I'm changing things
29:48gradually
29:48when it comes
29:49to my meals.
29:50I really think
29:51this is too much,
29:52but I'm going
29:53to give it a go.
29:54I don't want
29:54to cause so much
29:55change to where
29:56I get confused.
29:57Get some starches.
29:58You can't go cold turkey
30:00as soon as you come home
30:01after losing 50 pounds.
30:05His addiction
30:06cannot take over
30:08and stop him
30:09from getting progress.
30:10Thank you, Jesus.
30:13All right, treadmills.
30:20I always do a quick start.
30:21Let's go a couple minutes
30:22and warm up.
30:29Come on.
30:30Coming home
30:32is an adjustment process
30:33for me.
30:34Come on.
30:35That's it.
30:36One more.
30:37Wait with me.
30:40When I came back,
30:41I was not sure
30:42if I could do it.
30:44Three more.
30:45It was very stressful.
30:46Last one.
30:47There you go.
30:49Trying to make it
30:50any lifestyle change,
30:52it was a challenge.
30:54See, this one's
30:54160 calories
30:55with only 8 grams of fat.
30:56How much is that?
30:57100.
30:58It's brown rice
30:59and it's natural
31:00and it tastes good.
31:02Before I left,
31:03we had already decided
31:04that we were going
31:05to start eating
31:05a lot healthier.
31:06Can I put that right there?
31:08Yep.
31:08Is that good?
31:10Am I eating
31:10within moderation?
31:12Yes.
31:13Am I still eating
31:13some of the foods
31:14I ate before?
31:15Yeah.
31:16Some of these, all right?
31:17That's it.
31:19I'm 39 years old.
31:21I'm not going to
31:21just take everything
31:22that I grew up on
31:23away from me
31:24and go cold turkey.
31:26There's no way
31:27in the world
31:27I can do that.
31:3214, come on.
31:33Last one.
31:34The lawyer's schedule
31:35is demanding.
31:36School, work, family.
31:39Every second
31:40in my life
31:41is very accounted for.
31:43Come on.
31:44And to me,
31:45it's like,
31:45okay, I just need
31:46to get through this.
31:49What was your last one?
31:50287.
31:51So you're still
31:52last off here?
31:53Yes.
31:53Sure.
31:54All right.
31:59All right,
32:00let me ask you
32:00a question.
32:01Yes.
32:02Can a person gain
32:0314 pounds
32:04in seven days?
32:05I'm taking this
32:14seriously.
32:15This is changing
32:17my life.
32:18But I got kind
32:19of frustrated this week.
32:21The kids at first
32:22were, oh,
32:22we're going to do it,
32:23mom.
32:24You know,
32:24my husband also.
32:26And they don't.
32:27When we go to eat,
32:29it's kind of hard.
32:30Why don't you cut it
32:31in four pieces?
32:33Or three.
32:34Floor's family tradition
32:36is eating out,
32:37is spending time
32:38over food together.
32:40You like the brisket
32:40I eat?
32:42I've had a lot
32:44of guilt
32:44because I take
32:46the responsibility
32:47that I'm the one
32:48who said,
32:49oh, it's cheaper
32:50to go get you
32:50the burger
32:51than it is
32:51to cook you
32:52a healthy meal.
32:53Do we need
32:54to order something more?
32:55Mm-hmm.
32:56Do we need
32:56to order something more?
32:57Family time
32:58is food time.
32:59That has to change
33:00for Florida change.
33:05Hey, Brittany.
33:06Hey, how are you?
33:07How you doing?
33:08How you doing?
33:08How you doing?
33:09What's going on?
33:11I didn't understand
33:12them at first.
33:13I gained, like,
33:1414 pounds.
33:14Was that,
33:15was that because
33:16you were on a different...
33:17Part of it's because
33:17we're in southeast Texas
33:19and it's a lot denser here.
33:21Humidity and everything.
33:22You can fluctuate
33:23a few pounds of weight
33:24going from one altitude
33:25to the other.
33:26I'm not truly convinced
33:27that Kevin's
33:29100% committed
33:30to this program.
33:31I didn't eat, like,
33:31you know,
33:32three, four legs
33:33of chicken either.
33:34I didn't eat them.
33:35They weren't big chicken legs.
33:36Kevin has
33:37a lot of excuses.
33:38What are they doing?
33:39That is donuts
33:40and those are not mine.
33:42They're not...
33:42Who's our...
33:43No, they're my nephews.
33:44I don't think
33:45he fully understands
33:46that, yeah,
33:47there's sacrifice.
33:48You are accountable
33:49and you wanted health
33:50and you are asking
33:51for help.
33:52Yeah.
33:52What's your goal
33:53this week?
33:54Lose some more weight.
33:55Lose some more weight,
33:56lose some more inches.
33:56Stay focused.
34:00Nothing is easy
34:01right now,
34:02you know,
34:02because I'm a busy person
34:03and have a lot
34:04of different things
34:05going on in my life,
34:06but I know that the gym
34:08has to be
34:09in front of all that.
34:12Because if I don't
34:13make it to the gym,
34:14all of those things
34:15that I'm doing
34:15and all those things
34:16that I want to do
34:17are going to fall
34:18by the wayside
34:18at some point.
34:20Let's go, let's go!
34:22I do understand
34:23the burden it is
34:24to be a coach.
34:25you do have to put
34:26a lot into that.
34:27Get it!
34:29But it's going to be hard
34:30to get back
34:32to where he wants
34:33to be.
34:34Two more.
34:35And if he really wants it,
34:37he'll find a way.
34:38Step on up for me.
34:40519.6.
34:42Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.
34:44It's a good surprise
34:45if anything.
34:46Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is.
34:47It is.
34:47A real good surprise.
34:48I really do not
34:51like scales.
34:52All right.
34:54278.
34:55Jingo.
34:57Okay.
34:59You know I'm pissed today.
35:00I know.
35:01You think I'm not?
35:05Today, I want you
35:05to write down
35:06exactly what you eat.
35:07You're going to bring it
35:08to me each morning.
35:10We are never having
35:11a week like this again.
35:13Ever.
35:13I'm trying to eat
35:18the right foods
35:19and I'm trying
35:20to work out every day.
35:21It took me 20 years
35:23to get where I was.
35:26I always have to
35:28be careful
35:28what decisions I make
35:29because my kids
35:30are watching
35:31every step that I make.
35:34The reason that
35:36I've been trying
35:36to focus on you guys
35:39is I want you guys
35:40to be losing weight
35:42at the same time
35:43so you're not
35:43at the point
35:44where I've been
35:45where you're afraid
35:45to get a heart attack.
35:47It's hard to tell
35:48your kids,
35:49you know what,
35:49you need to lose weight.
35:50I'm upset at myself
35:51because I haven't gone
35:52and made the effort.
35:54But what are you
35:54going to do about it?
35:56I'm just going to
35:56try my best
35:57to lose weight.
35:57You have to make
35:58an effort of actually
36:00working out
36:01when we go as a family.
36:03Us doing it together
36:04makes a difference for us.
36:05I'm going to do it
36:06no matter if you guys
36:07do it or not.
36:07I am.
36:10It's going to be
36:11their choice.
36:11And now my focus
36:13has to be me.
36:15Her family is still
36:16trying to catch up
36:17to her.
36:17So will they
36:18boost her forward
36:19or will they
36:20pull her back?
36:27Come on.
36:29Come on.
36:31Three more.
36:31I need three.
36:32Come on.
36:32Surprise visit.
36:37Hey guys,
36:37how's it going?
36:38What's up Dave?
36:40How you doing?
36:40What's going on Kev?
36:41Can I get a weigh-in
36:42with you real quick?
36:43Yeah, come on up.
36:45Okay, so 508.8,
36:47about a five pound gain
36:48from two weeks ago
36:49but a one pound loss
36:50from last week, right?
36:51Yeah.
36:52So you're heading back
36:53down the right path
36:54but there's a multitude
36:55of things that you can
36:56still do to keep yourself
36:58losing three pounds a week.
37:00Even if it's three pounds,
37:02I know you can do it.
37:03Your body is asking for it.
37:06Five.
37:07Come on Kevin.
37:09What do you want?
37:11One.
37:12I know I have a long way
37:13to go.
37:13I'm not about to say
37:14okay, well I'm done
37:15but I feel like it's
37:16something that I can do.
37:18Good Kevin.
37:20I lift him,
37:21I can't lift anymore.
37:22I lift him screaming
37:23and I almost have to yell it.
37:25I don't do that
37:26to me today dog.
37:27One more.
37:28Ah!
37:29I find that the more
37:30weight that I lose,
37:32the stronger I get,
37:33the more agile I become.
37:35and hit 492.
37:37How'd you do it sir?
37:40One more,
37:41all the way down.
37:42Having an addiction,
37:43having a problem,
37:44it's hard.
37:45It's very easy for him
37:46to put this weight back on
37:48because his body
37:48was used to having it.
37:50He just has to lose weight
37:51or he's going to fail.
37:53Ah!
37:57Use that wrist,
37:58let it pop,
37:58make that wrist pop.
37:59I'm going to try
38:02and extend my time
38:03as long as I can.
38:05Oh!
38:06What you want to do
38:06is just continue
38:07to just lose the weight.
38:10There it is.
38:13Go all the way down.
38:15There you go.
38:16Deep lunge.
38:21Come on Kevin.
38:22This last month
38:23is crucial.
38:24Good, go.
38:25I could really see
38:29Kevin facing
38:30a tremendous amount
38:31of challenges.
38:33Hey Kevin, come on.
38:34The biggest one
38:35is going to be
38:36his ability
38:37to justify it.
38:39Faster.
38:40Come on,
38:41can I do it fast?
38:42I feel the one.
38:43Come on, boy.
38:43Five more.
38:49Floor,
38:49she doesn't have
38:50enough hours in the day.
38:53School, work,
38:54kids, herself.
38:55Come on,
38:56all the way up.
38:57Her whole family
38:58is overweight, obese
38:59and when somebody
39:00isn't going to the gym
39:00with her,
39:01that holds her back.
39:02Feet cross,
39:03high as you can.
39:03Go.
39:04Go.
39:04Am I going to be able
39:05to control myself
39:07or do I just avoid
39:08all my family?
39:09Oh my God.
39:11Hey!
39:12One more.
39:14Am I mistake-free?
39:15No, there's no way
39:15in the world
39:16I'm going to be
39:16mistake-free.
39:18My biggest fear
39:19is just gain my way
39:20back and all the
39:21hard work I've done,
39:22you know,
39:22just kind of put it
39:23to the wayside.
39:25At the final weigh-in,
39:27I want to see
39:28very steady progress.
39:29I want to see
39:30that scale change
39:31because it should.
39:32Oh!
39:36Oh!
39:36I'm about to go
39:46and get my final
39:47weigh-in.
39:48I'm a little nervous.
39:49Hey, Kev!
39:50Hey, what's going on?
39:51What's going on with you?
39:51How you doing?
39:52I'm doing well.
39:53Doing well.
39:54How about you?
39:55I mean, I've had my bad
39:56days, but I'm finding ways
39:57to keep it going,
39:58keep the weight loss going.
39:59You were at 596.7.
40:01You don't really know
40:02over the last few weeks
40:03where you've been.
40:04Where are you at today?
40:05I have the focus I did.
40:07All right, step on for me.
40:08All right.
40:11Starting weight,
40:13596.7.
40:15Mm-hmm.
40:17Today, you're at 507.
40:22And the last time
40:23you weighed in,
40:24you weighed in at 490 pounds.
40:26So that means
40:27there's been about
40:28a 17-pound weight gain.
40:31You have a great family
40:32that supports you.
40:33You're a role model.
40:35Okay.
40:35I don't want to see
40:36you go backwards.
40:38Kevin has a long way
40:39to go, and this is
40:39just the beginning.
40:41And I want to see him
40:41find more help.
40:43I want to see him
40:44admit to himself
40:45that he can't just
40:47do this on his own.
40:48Get some more.
40:49All right.
40:49I am, I am.
40:50Keep it on the floor.
40:51You deserve it.
40:53I am down 90 pounds,
40:55but I still want
40:56to lose more weight.
40:57and now I feel like
40:58it's something
40:59that I can do.
41:02Who's the hot mama?
41:04Yeah!
41:06Look at you!
41:08You were in a facility
41:09for a month with us,
41:10but you went home
41:11for five months
41:12and did this.
41:13It was scary
41:14to be here
41:16and then to say,
41:17here, you can fly.
41:18You know?
41:19It's like,
41:19no!
41:20I don't have wings!
41:21Okay, for a step
41:23on the scale,

41:46I feel very proud
41:49of what I've accomplished.
41:51I see myself
41:52a person
41:53that can accomplish
41:54anything that I set
41:55my mind to.
41:57It's giving my kids
41:58their mom back.
41:59This is my opportunity
42:00to get my life straight.
