Strawbridges Garden Centre: Alice in Wonderland style Audrey's Cafe on a roadside in Barnsley

Strawbridges Garden Centre is home to an Alice in Wonderland themed cafe, a shop and a pet crematorium. Our reporter Sophie Mei Lan drove with her family to Barnsley to visit this unusual garden centre.

00:00there's now like visiting a garden center granted it's normally when the weather is nicer it inspires

00:21you to get gardening but today i'm off to somewhere very special it's an Alice in Wonderland themed

00:28cafe here at Strawbridges garden center in Darfield near Barnsley and as you can see there's a few sheds

00:36over there pretty looking sheds selling some produce only foods and sauces street food van

00:43although that's sadly closed today there's even a pet crematorium here and a flower shop

00:49this roadside cafe is called Audrey's Coffeehouse and Deli inside is a whole Pandora's chest of

01:01different fairy tale themed goods through the looking glass it has Alice in Wonderland vibes

01:08as well as a sprinkling of Harry Potter perhaps that's the bookcases on the walls and as a door too

01:16it's got that lovely cozy homely feel the kind of feeling you get at your nan's house

01:23they have a huge menu on offer from greasy spoon breakfast specials to much more gastropub style

01:32food for lunch we tried a lovely homemade lasagna which was piping hot and full of cheesy goodness

01:41served with triple cooked chips this place is one of the most creative roadside cafes i've been to

01:50prices range from around 2.95 to 13.95 they serve hot and cold food as well as having an afternoon tea

02:00menu it is the ideal place for a special event especially if you fancy wandering in to a fairy tale
