00:00It's 93.3 WMMR in Philadelphia. I am Sarah and here to give us the dirt on brand new music from
00:07the world's most notorious rock band Motley Crue. I welcome Vince Neil and Tommy Lee. Thanks so much
00:13for joining us guys. Yeah. What up Sarah? Hi. So the brand new song, it's called Dogs of War. It's
00:22out now. It's big, it's loud, it's full of energy. And I know that you guys have been busy in the
00:29studio working on other material, not just this song. So is it a full album that is coming together?
00:35Is it an EP? You put out 10, 11 songs and half of the songs never get heard by anybody. And we
00:43figured if we do it like, do like a couple songs at a time, we give it the full attention that it
00:49needs and, and, and put out singles, you know, that, that, that's for us, that's what we want to do
00:55right now. Is that interesting for you? Because obviously when Motley Crue first formed, it was
01:03LPs, it was albums. So what's that like to drop into the studio and just record, you know, a handful
01:09and then duck out for a few months and maybe come back later? I think it's cool. Um, because you,
01:16what's going to happen here is you're going to get more, more frequently, you know, albums take
01:22forever to kind of conceptually put together, record, do all that stuff where, you know, it could
01:29be several years between a release. Um, we're not, now we'll just go in and record something and
01:36we'll just put it right out and people probably get more, more often, you know, more Motley.
01:44Gotta love it, right? Yeah. I think it's cool. It's kind of just kind of where the, the music
01:51industry is anyway. I don't think many people are making records these days. Well, in the middle of
01:58this new song, there is a ripping guitar solo, which I can only assume is the sound of John Five,
02:05who you welcomed into the fold recently. It must be so invigorating to have him in the mix now.
02:11He's the shit. He really is. Like, I don't know how much you know about him, but he's one of those
02:18guys that stylistically is capable of playing. Like you could just go like, dude, play me some
02:25bluegrass mixed with some, some Beethoven. And he just, we'll just play it. And you're like,
02:30how does this guy know all these styles? And, and, and, and, and above and beyond that,
02:37the guy's a fucking sweetheart. Like, you know, you can be an amazing musician, but if you're,
02:44if you're an asshole, like none of it matters. He's, he's a, he's the sweetest guy and brings
02:50such a great new energy, you know, within us that it's, it's, he's celebrated all the time.
02:58He's amazing. Amazing guy, amazing player. I mean, usually like on stage, I'll go and sit down
03:05during the guitar solos and stuff. And I gotta, I gotta watch him because you're mesmerized by
03:12his playing and you're like, well, how does he do that? Not only is he a genius guitar player,
03:18but the guitars themselves are beautiful. He has a really amazing collection, which is going to be
03:24great to see on stage with you guys live. And you put on a fantastic show as it is. So I think
03:29it's really great that you brought him into the mix and Vince, you didn't meet John until after
03:35he was brought into the fold. So you kind of had to trust Tommy and Nikki here when they were like,
03:39all right, listen, this is the guy and it's going to be good. Yeah. I didn't meet him yet. And the
03:45first time I met him, I'm like, this guy's going to work. He's, he's, he's a killer guy,
03:49you know, and, and, uh, I trusted, you know, Nikki and Tommy, uh, um, about the, you know,
03:55his playing and stuff, but, um, he's, you know, he's more, he's better than what I thought it was
04:00going to be, you know, and, uh, met my expectations. So record store day just passed and I picked up
04:08this year, limited edition. Uh, it's the supersonic and demonic relics. Now this originally came out in,
04:17I think it's 99, but it's been reissued with like nice color vinyl and it's a collection of,
04:23uh, B sides and rarities essentially. And by the way, I had to call like seven or eight stores to
04:30try to find this. And there's a lot of record stores in the area, uh, in the Philadelphia area
04:34to pick this up. So, and everyone I called was like, nah, man, it sold out real quick, but I got
04:40my hands on one, very excited to crack this open. Um, but I bring that up. I'm looking at it thinking,
04:46not just on this collection, but your entire discography, are there any songs that pop out to
04:52you as, uh, either you miss playing them live, kind of wish you could bring them out of the vaults
04:59or on the other side of the coin, are there any songs that you would love to never hear again,
05:04either because you didn't like them in the first place or you've been playing them way too much?
05:07Can you flip it? What, what's the track listing on there? Is it?
05:14So we have, uh, and it's, like I said, it doesn't have to be from this particular, uh, album, but
05:21we've got side super side, Sonic side demonic and side relics. So anarchy in the UK that covers on
05:27here. Uh, we got a Dr. Feelgood live cut mood ring, which has an asterisk, uh, that says previously
05:34unreleased, uh, teaser, primal scream, sinners and saints say, yeah, planet boom, lots of stuff on
05:41here. I'd love to play that again. Yeah. Teaser is cool. Yeah. That is a, and that's the lead track.
05:49Oh shit. I forgot about that. Me too. So it's rarities even to y'all yet. See your,
05:55your discography is just so expansive. See, we've been doing this for a while,
06:00like long enough to where we don't even fucking remember what we did. Nice. So Motley Crue is
06:07going to be in Atlantic city on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th. MMR's own Jackie Bam Bam is
06:12going to host a pre-party and a meet and greet with you guys, which is really exciting. I got to say,
06:18I'm just glad that you're playing indoors this time because that stadium tour that you did in the dead
06:23of summer of 2022, it kicked ass, but the Philly day in particular was so hot. I don't know how you
06:30guys did it rocking now. And with the outfits too, and the pyro, um, it was, it was a wild circus to
06:38watch, but that must've been hot for you too up on stage. Oh yeah. It's too tough up there when it's
06:43hot, it's miserable. Nice. Well, like I said, we can't wait to see you in Atlantic city in just a
06:52couple of weeks here. And I think you're kicking off the tour in our area. Can we expect the live
06:58debut of dogs of war perhaps? Oh yeah. Yes. In the Philly area. I love it. We're speaking with
07:07Vince Neil and Tommy Lee of Motley Crue on MMR. The rock and roll hall of fame just announced its
07:13class of 2024. And this year we're seeing Ozzie inducted share. It's actually a pretty big class
07:20this year. Farn or Peter Prampton. I could go on, but I bring this up because a few years ago,
07:25the rock hall, the actual rock hall, the museum in Cleveland installed this fan vote mechanism
07:30that you could go up and pick your favorite for an artist that you wanted to see inducted into the
07:35hall. And this was just a few years ago and Motley Crue, I don't know, hopefully you guys saw this
07:42because it was making headlines across all the rock sites, but Motley Crue shot up to the top of that
07:48fan vote list. Did you know that? No, no, no. So either you have a ton of, uh, fans in Cleveland
07:55or people really want to see Motley Crue get into the rock and roll hall of fame. Um, what are your
08:01thoughts on that? Just as an institution, if you were announced as a nominee, how would you react?
08:06I think it'd be pretty cool to be inducted, but, uh, we'll probably be dead when they induct us.
08:12Yeah. It's weird. It's one of those things where like, you're like, Oh, that would be so fucking
08:18rad. But, um, and then there's the, it's, it's a weird double-edged thing because at one point it
08:27was like, Whoa, rock and roll hall of fame. And then over the years, there's been a bunch of people
08:34getting inducted into it that I don't know. Sometimes you're like, how's, how's that possible?
08:41You know, or I'm not sure that this quite fits or whatever, but, and so then you go, you're like,
08:50maybe it's not that cool, but I get, you know, if the fan, the fans think it's cool, then it's cool.
08:57Well, uh, Vince, Tommy, I know you're busy. Uh, the song dogs of war it's out. Now you can hear
09:03on MMR. You can watch the video on wmr.com. We'll see you in Atlantic city. Like I said,
09:08in just a couple of weeks. And I wanted to close by asking a question. Look, I was asked to not bring
09:15up anything controversial or scandalous, but the people need to know your thoughts on pineapple
09:23on pizza. Tommy go. Love it. Hate it. Perfect. Vince, Tommy, we'll see you soon.
09:34Thanks for your time. Thanks guys.
