00:00We are happy to have in our studio this morning, please welcome Tiffany!
00:07We were just chatting off air about all these other, you know, gigs you've been playing and where you're headed to next and all that.
00:13And we actually, and I wanted to lead with this, we have a little bit of a history with you.
00:18You probably don't remember because you played so many shows, and this was a long time ago too.
00:21This was, I don't know, 20 years ago?
00:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:24At least 20 years ago.
00:25Maybe, yeah, probably more than 20 years ago.
00:27So we were doing a live broadcast, it was on Fat Tuesday on South Street in Philadelphia at a place called Fat Tuesday.
00:35And you were coming by for an interview, just for an interview.
00:38You were promoting Manic Panic Hair Coloring.
00:40Yes.
00:40Yes.
00:41I do remember, guys.
00:42So you came in, we had a house band, and they had learned, I think we're alone now.
00:48Right.
00:48And we were just like, we'll just pitch it to her, she's probably not going to want to do it.
00:52Thinking no, yeah, there's no way she's going to do this.
00:54And we had a fanatical, crazy, hard drinking, 6 a.m. drinker crowd in front of us.
01:01You got up, and you sang, and the band had learned it, note for note, with the harmonies
01:05and everything.
01:06You got up, that crowd went crazy when you started singing.
01:11I do remember, actually, this.
01:13Didn't I have my band with me?
01:15No.
01:15Or some people with me?
01:16You did not.
01:18I thought you might not remember.
01:19I never do it anyway.
01:20Because you literally were alone, and the guys, it was, well, no.
01:26It was the band.
01:27This story's becoming sad.
01:29I thought, what's happening here?
01:30It was the band Mr. Green Jeans, who was our house band, and you're singing along, you
01:35get to the chorus, and I forget who it was, Ronnie, or I forgot one of the-
01:39Ryan, maybe?
01:40The keyboardist started singing the high harmonies, and you turn around, and you're like, what?
01:45Yeah!
01:45You got this.
01:47Awesome!
01:47I mean, it was so-
01:50That's why you're always a beloved friend of the show, because that was-
01:53Oh, well, thank you.
01:54One of our greatest moments, and the fact, because you were so used to people saying,
01:58nah, it's early.
01:59You just said, yeah, and you did it, and that crowd again went nuts!
02:03It was exciting.
02:04Yeah.
02:04I like to sing, so I'll get up there and jump up there.
02:09I'm usually not very shy.
02:10Are you surprised that people, you know, 11 albums, you know?
02:14And so you've always been working.
02:18I mean, you've always been involved, whether you have a multitude of things you've been involved
02:21in, whether it's, like, you know, you've done some fun movies and reality shows, but
02:26the music has always been right through that whole process, and people must, you know,
02:33because some of the stuff is not what we're hearing, you know, let's say, I think we're
02:37alone now, but you've been hard at work for years putting out albums.
02:41Well, silly movies, like you said, sci-fi, Megapython versus Gatoroid, very serious stuff.
02:47Where are you from, Debbie Gibson?
02:48I've been singing, I've been saving the world from these creatures.
02:51By the way, we love those movies.
02:53Yeah, we love it.
02:53I do, too.
02:54And I'm going back, actually.
02:55I just reconnected with Asylum Productions, and there's talks about doing some more sci-fi
03:00in my world, so I'm really excited about that.
03:03But, yeah, I think everything circles back around music, especially in today's world.
03:08You have to kind of, it's exciting, because you can live different parts of yourself.
03:12Sure.
03:12Like, my company's End My Friend, Let's End My Friend, which is Holistic Healing, and
03:16just my knowledge and what I'm learning on the road with my own health battles and traveling
03:21on the road all the time and how to keep it together.
03:25And then, you know, cooking.
03:26I cook Let's Food with Tiffany.
03:28Oh, nice.
03:28But all of it is just leading back to music and what I do, and now the new album, Shadows.
03:33We're finally out on the road with it, but this tour is different.
03:37It's a little wink back to retro.
03:40Okay.
03:40It's a UV experience, so get your UV on.
03:43Come out and glow with me.
03:44We're selling jackets.
03:46I've painted them, had painted them.
03:48They glow.
03:49You know, cool stuff to wear during the show.
03:51Of course, like, you know, light up balls that everybody can throw around.
03:55So we're just really kind of having fun.
03:56I think I spent so much time on the road showing people I could really sing, showing people
04:01I was really a musician, all of that.
04:03But this tour, I can kind of live in both worlds.
04:06Yeah.
04:06I think, you know, that we've set that base a little bit about she's still here.
04:10Yeah.
04:11And she really can sing.
04:12And she's a songwriter now.
04:13And come do, you know, more rock stuff with me.
04:16And now I can kind of step back and also have fun with the retro stuff.
04:20So that's what we're doing tonight.
04:22We're going to live in the best of both worlds.
04:24And that's how this tour will proceed with this style, with this approach?
04:27With this approach.
04:28I mean, the new album is pretty much like, I call it rock retro.
04:32Okay.
04:32It's a little bit of a wink back to the 80s flair.
04:35Yeah.
04:35The fun of that music.
04:37I can't really put my finger on it, but whatever that was, it's there.
04:41And we worked really hard on that.
04:43Martin production from my producer who sits next to me, Mark Albarici.
04:47And a little bit of a wink back to punk music, you know.
04:52So it's a little bit of all of that together on the new album.
04:54Yeah, it's funny because I, you know, I go back to 1987, which is when that album and that song hit.
05:02And for me, that was like, when I look back at my childhood, like for some reason, 1987 always plays over and over again.
05:09Because of, that was, it was the year I had my first kiss.
05:12And that summer of 1987 was the summer of, I think we're alone now.
05:16And, you know, I was at the pool and I was with all my friends and I hung out with a bunch of girls and we were kissing and all that.
05:23I mean, honestly, like.
05:24We were finding ourselves.
05:25We were finding ourselves at that time.
05:27And, but also, like, in addition to, like, what the activities that I was, there was a soundtrack.
05:33And you are a soundtrack of my life, part of the soundtrack of my life, which is really, really cool.
05:39And I'm glad that that is something that you embrace.
05:42I love it.
05:42I do.
05:43I really do.
05:43I mean, you know, I do the music diaries on YouTube and it talks about each album and not what you would think.
05:51It's not really about my take on the music.
05:54It's about my take on living through it.
05:57All the emotions I had, all the experience I was having in my home life from relationships, all of it, and how that affected me as a musician or performer.
06:07And those early albums, I was finding myself.
06:11You were a kid.
06:11Right along with my fans.
06:13And so, you know, I was right in there with you guys.
06:16Yeah.
06:16Even though I was Tiffany, I was really listening to your stories and connecting with my fans and, you know, talking about adolescence and heartbreak and, again, maybe not having the best home life.
06:29I love my family, but they were a little crazy.
06:31So, you know, but everybody's was.
06:33It took me a while to move around the world to realize, well, we're all, like, connected.
06:39Yeah.
06:39It's all kind of the same thing.
06:40Well, and now the older music, like, when I hear it, it just takes me back to such a great time in my life.
06:45You know, it's just, it's so nice.
06:48Carefree, yeah.
06:48Yeah, carefree, totally.
06:50But I have to ask you, was, or the rivalry between you and Debbie Gibson, was that real or is that made up by tabloids?
06:56No, that is totally made up.
06:57Yeah.
06:58We are friends.
06:59I mean, she's my, you know, partner in saving the world from, you know, Mega Python and Gatorade.
07:06No, we are, we are buddies.
07:08You know, we're so different, but that's what we love about each other.
07:12I think that, you know, it's, again, full circle.
07:15The fans know now they don't have to pick Debbie or Tiffany.
07:18They can have us both.
07:19There's no rivalry there.
07:20It's like the Stones and the Beatles.
07:21Exactly.
07:22So, and you, what was great is that you got to depict that, that quote unquote rivalry because you guys actually physically fight in the movie.
07:31Oh, yeah, we had a black one.
07:32Which was hilarious.
07:34Casey mentioned the soundtrack and it's got to be fun to you when you hear your music and your performances come up.
07:42I was, we're watching the first season of the Umbrella Academy, the very first episode.
07:46Huge scene.
07:47The entire song is played.
07:49I know.
07:50I think we're alone now.
07:51I'm a fan of the show.
07:52That had to be cool.
07:52So that was a great, I didn't know about it.
07:55Yeah.
07:55I didn't know that was going to happen.
07:56So it was a great surprise.
07:57Yeah.
07:58And, and so that, I mean, it's, it's so, well, that song in particular is woven into, you know, a lot of different soundtracks and you're usually not aware when that's going to happen.
08:07It just kind of.
08:07Like right now it's a commercial for McDonald's actually in the UK.
08:11What?
08:12In the UK.
08:13Wow.
08:14I wanted to ask because of the album in Shadows and, and, and, and I was reading an interview with you.
08:20We were talking about, um, you're off a divorce, right?
08:23Yes.
08:23And, and I was wondering as a songwriter, is it better to write from a place of pain or of elation and joy?
08:32Which works better for you?
08:33I can do both.
08:35Yeah.
08:35I think what comes naturally out of me is, is the more solemn.
08:40I'm a true life musician.
08:41Okay.
08:42Yeah.
08:42There's always a deep sadness there that I don't really understand sometimes.
08:46But, um, you know, again, that's why I love songs like could have been all this time.
08:51Some of the ballads that I was singing back then I related to for some reason, probably because I saw as a kid broken relationships and the sorrow of that.
09:01I want to talk about your family in a second, but to that point, you, are you still not the, when you, that all broke, you were the youngest person to have back-to-back number one albums on the billboard charts.
09:14Is that correct?
09:14Yes.
09:15Yes.
09:16And that, that blew my mind.
09:17That's, that's pretty, and how old were you?
09:19I was 15.
09:2015.
09:2116, actually, I think, when all of that really started to happen.
09:2314 when I recorded the record.
09:2515 when I did the mall tour and then it started to take off.
09:28And by the time I was 16, I had number one.
09:31That's huge.
09:31Wow.
09:32Touring the world.
09:33And to your family.
09:34And I remember when that was all, you, you wanted to get legal emancipation from your family.
09:38And I didn't realize, you know how this stuff gets parsed out and, and how it's fed out to the public.
09:43And then you read about the story really.
09:45And I remember you, I remember there was some, I think there was some backlash against you and, oh, what you're doing to your family.
09:51And then you read about your family and you're very, you're, you're candid about, you've been candid.
09:55You're, you know, your, your mother had many issues and, and you were, there was, explain to people what your situation was and why you were eager to get that emancipation.
10:04Well, I don't think that, you know, to be honest with you, I don't think going into a trial, and again, that was all taken advantage because I was Tiffany.
10:11Right.
10:11So the attorneys, of course, want to rake in that bill, you know, to understand all of this.
10:18But really what happened was I wanted to move out of the house where my mom was and my stepfather because they had reunited again.
10:25And I felt that they didn't really address some of the problems.
10:29I was definitely afraid my mom was going to return back to, you know, drinking.
10:32Yeah.
10:33And I didn't really want to be a part of that.
10:35So I wanted to go and live with my grandmother, but my mom, you know, was kind of dependent on me.
10:41There's that codependency that we had that relationship for a long time.
10:45Again, I didn't know what that was, but so she didn't really want to let me go.
10:50It was just that simple that I was like her security blanket.
10:53But at the time, you know, again, I got a major record deal.
10:57I'm now touring the world.
10:58I've got the label.
11:00I've got the management.
11:01And I just couldn't do the home thing as well.
11:05Go home.
11:05And you're super young.
11:06And you're super young.
11:07I just wanted to go to my grandma.
11:08It was down the street.
11:11And I ended up, you know, somebody put it in my head.
11:13Well, you probably should file for emancipation.
11:16That's the only way you're going to really be heard or can actually make this happen where you are out of the home.
11:24And that's what happened.
11:25I filed for emancipation.
11:27It was ugly.
11:28I think it was something my family had to go through.
11:30And it was really bad for a minute.
11:32But my mom got sober, stayed sober.
11:36And the family actually healed after that.
11:38So the emancipation didn't happen?
11:40It did happen.
11:41Oh, it did happen.
11:42I was emancipated.
11:42I went and lived with my grandmother.
11:44Okay.
11:45And it took me a couple of years to really reconnect with my mom and get a real understanding of what had happened.
11:52Again, there's that therapy and that healing.
11:54And, you know, she had to come out of that darkness for herself as well.
11:58So we connected.
11:59And once I became a mom, that's when, you know, I think my whole relationship with my mom really healed.
12:06Because the music thing, she didn't really get.
12:08She didn't know how to really advise me from that.
12:10And I think it was very overwhelming for my family.
12:13Have you seen the Brooke Shields special on the documentary?
12:16I have a little bit, yes.
12:16It's so linear to what you're saying.
12:18I love Brooke.
12:19She's always been so nice to me.
12:20She's wonderful.
12:21My God.
12:21I mean, her mom was living her life through her and got very attached.
12:27I think my mom wasn't really living my life.
12:30My mom didn't know how to live her own life.
12:32She was very shy and very quiet.
12:34And then I had this overpowering manager who, again, if you're trying to find your voice and you really don't know how to handle things, maybe without alcohol, he was really overpowering.
12:45It was probably not what she needed.
12:46Right.
12:47But, again, sometimes the whole world collapsed on you to rebuild.
12:51And that's what my mom did.
12:53So it's a success story in the end.
12:54My family's really great.
12:55Everybody's healthy.
12:56There's no drama now.
12:58And I have a son who's 30, and he's a structural engineer.
13:02His name's Elijah.
13:03And, you know, I'm living life.
13:05I'm proud.
13:05Everything's good.
13:06So would you have done it differently or no?
13:09I would have done it differently because, again, I didn't really expect that long trial.
13:15I didn't expect them to, like, pull punches where they, you know, went and interviewed people and threw out things about my family that I really didn't really want out there and wasn't aware that that was how it was going to happen.
13:27It was pretty rough.
13:28Yeah.
13:28I mean, now I would have put my whole family into counseling.
13:32I think it would have been cheaper.
13:33And I think we just really need to have a, you know, talk it out.
13:37And my mom needed those skills and those tools to live sober.
13:41Yeah.
13:41And smart.
13:42If people talk, if you communicate, you can get some things done.
13:44And, yeah, it's the hardest thing for people to do sometimes.
13:46Yeah, it is.
13:47Well, listen, we want to talk some more.
13:50We want to get some more questions.
13:51We have some more questions for you.
13:52But we also want to hear you perform this morning.
13:53Awesome.
13:54Okay.
13:54So we have Mark Albarici, who's going to be performing guitar here, and Tiffany singing along.
13:59So what are we going to hear?
14:01We are going to hear You're My Everything, the new single from Shadows.
14:04Nice.
14:05Let's check this out.
14:05It is Tiffany on MMR.
14:07Here I am
14:26Once again
14:30Lying in

15:50You're my everything and all
15:55You're my everything and me
15:59You're all my love
16:02In a world full of sadness
16:06Love is a foolish thing
16:09You heal from the scars
16:14To break your heart with a word again
16:17All I am
16:21It's all wrong
16:25But I'm screaming
16:29In the dark
16:33Tell me why
16:37We're broken home
16:42Burning home
16:45Right from the start
16:49You're my everything
16:55You're my everything and all
16:59You're my everything and me
17:03All my love
17:06You're my everything

17:15You're my everything and me
17:19All my love
17:22In a world full of sadness
17:26Love is a foolish thing
17:30You heal from the scars
17:34To break your heart with a word again
17:38In a world full of sadness
17:43Love is a foolish thing
17:46You heal from the scars
17:51To break your heart over again
17:54You heal from the scars
17:59To break your heart over again
18:02Yeah
18:05Good morning, everybody
18:06Cranking it out there

18:25I do. I'm excited.
18:26Never been.
18:27So Daryl Hall
18:27So yeah
18:28Is it a concert venue?
18:30Or is he recording it as well?
18:32He actually has a concert venue
18:33I know that there was a show as well
18:35Yeah, yeah
18:35I think he stopped the show for a minute
18:37Yeah
18:37So this is his concert venue
18:39And I'm thrilled
18:40I'm excited
18:40All the shows
18:41I'm thrilled

18:46I have family here
18:48Oh, really?
18:48So tonight I'm going to see everybody's faces
18:50Oh, nice

18:57Thank you for having us here today
18:59Our pleasure
18:59But also family
19:00Yeah
19:00Who's family?
19:01Who's in town?
19:02Cousins?
19:03Oh, cousins, yes
19:04Cousins and extended team TIFF
19:06Which I call my family
19:07Team TIFF
19:08It takes a village to do what I do
19:10Especially as an independent nowadays
19:11So I love all of them
19:13I wanted to ask if it's too personal
19:14Pardon me
19:15But are you single right now?
19:17No, I'm engaged
19:18Get out
19:19You too?
19:20Really?
19:21You guys are engaged?
19:22Congratulations
19:22Congratulations
19:24I'm engaged to Mark
19:25How long ago did that happen?
19:27Oh, gosh
19:27It was Christmas Eve
19:29How romantic, right?
19:31Yes
19:31Nice job
19:32Whole deal
19:32Total surprise
19:33Okay
19:33You set a date yet
19:34Or is it waiting soon?
19:36No, actually
19:36We're just
19:37Well, I think we're still talking about it
19:39Mark is from London
19:40He can talk
19:41Yes
19:41Very early
19:42I was a child
19:43He is true rock and roll
19:45You went with the guy who can talk
19:48I did
19:49He does that
19:49He has a beautiful accent
19:50He's a Londoner
19:51Well, yes I am
19:53Hey, Steve
19:54I'm sensing like Hallmark Christmas movie here
19:58Hallmark Christmas movie
19:58Perfect
19:59Tiffany
20:00I think I'm more of a lifetime role as well
20:04There's a little drama there
20:06That's true
20:07That's true, yeah
20:08We're going to do it
20:09Let's do it right
20:10Yeah
20:10I love that
20:12I love that
20:13I wanted to ask about your
20:14Who came up with the concept of the mall tour
20:18Which put you
20:19Because locally here
20:21The Hooters played a lot of high schools early on
20:24And people still talk about that
20:26That was just such a nuclear explosion
20:29When you did those tours
20:31Because the video from that
20:32Ended up as that first video
20:34That sold the song
20:35Right
20:35That was because I was going to get dropped by my label
20:39Really?
20:40It really was
20:41I started performing out here on the East Coast
20:44Doing clubs
20:45I'm an L.A. girl
20:47Born and raised
20:47But there were no dance clubs really in L.A.
20:50It was rock
20:51And they sent me out here to the East Coast
20:53I was 15
20:54Doing I think we're alone now
20:56Right
20:57And it was going wild
20:58Everybody loved it
20:59But I was too young to even be in the club
21:01Right
21:01So the age difference was like
21:03How are we going to like have fans for her
21:07She can't even stay in the club
21:08So literally they were going to drop my project
21:11They had tried a bunch of different things
21:13And it was my A&R guy walking through the mall
21:15With his daughter
21:17And he thought
21:18Well they have hair shows
21:19And they have fashion shows
21:21And you know all these different tutorials
21:23Makeup tutorials
21:24Why not have music?
21:26So that's how the mall tour was born
21:28It was brilliant
21:29Yeah
21:29It was brilliant
21:30It saved my
21:31It saved everything for me
21:32Made me a mean shopaholic as well
21:34Sure
21:35Casey pointed out
21:37You were of the age of the girls
21:40Who would be in that mall shopping
21:42Oh yeah
21:42And you're there performing
21:43I used to love it
21:45Because I would perform
21:46Get up and do like five songs
21:48Do my whole thing
21:48And then literally
21:50There'd be a crowd of people
21:51And I'd be like
21:52Do you want to go and have a hot dog?
21:54And they'd be like
21:54Okay
21:54And like all these people
21:55When we'd have hot dogs and pizza
21:57And then I'd come back and sing again
21:59And the crowd would get a little bigger
22:00And I'd be like
22:01Do you want to have a hot dog?
22:03Tiffany you mentioned
22:04Brooke Shields always being nice to you
22:06Who along your route
22:08Throughout the years
22:09Were you surprised to find out
22:10It was like
22:11Starstruck
22:12Tiffany
22:12Oh my god
22:13Oh Alanis Morissette
22:14No
22:15Alanis Morissette
22:16She totally was like
22:17Oh my gosh
22:18You're Tiffany
22:19I was like
22:20You're Alanis Morissette
22:21That's weird right?
22:23That's awesome
22:24Did I hear
22:25She's totally cool
22:25Yeah
22:26She's awesome
22:27As a performer
22:28As a vocalist
22:29As a person
22:30As a human
22:30As a mom
22:31Yeah
22:31As a fellow Zen
22:33Holistic healer
22:35And she's really into retreats
22:36And mental awareness
22:38And mental health
22:39So I love her
22:40I wanted to ask you about that
22:41Because I wasn't familiar
22:42You said you have
22:43Like a holistic healing
22:44What is it that you did?
22:47So what I'm doing is
22:48I have been diagnosed
22:49With long COVID
22:50Which is turning into
22:52Some kind of weird
22:53Autoimmune disease now
22:54So just like
22:55We were saying earlier
22:56Like arthritic conditions
22:58And stuff
22:58So I'm battling it
22:59With nature
23:00Natural remedies
23:02Acupuncture
23:04Chinese medicine
23:05I've always been into that
23:06But now
23:07It's really
23:08I'm applying it to my life
23:09So as I travel around
23:11I'm just kind of
23:12Let's end my friend
23:13Is on Instagram
23:14I'm going to be having a website
23:15Connecting the dots
23:16Of alternative ways
23:18And information
23:19For everybody
23:20In my community
23:21So as I travel around again
23:23You know
23:23The world
23:24I'm going to be meeting
23:25With doctors
23:26And holistic practitioners
23:27Going to do acupuncture
23:30I'm basically
23:31The guinea pig
23:32So come see
23:34That happen
23:35And hopefully
23:37I'll just start feeling
23:38Better and better
23:38Every day
23:39Are you happy
23:39With the results
23:40So far
23:41As you go on
23:41This journey
23:42I am
23:43I found a great doctor
23:44In Nashville
23:44Dr. Toddy
23:45So I'm going to be
23:46Interviewing her as well
23:47And just
23:48Finding anything
23:49And everything we can
23:51About mental awareness
23:53Again
23:53Mental health
23:54Calming the body
23:55Living to our best capacity
23:58A lot of it is stressors
23:59I know
24:00I'm a
24:00I'm a
24:01You know
24:01I'm a go-getter
24:02So I put a lot of
24:03Extra stress on myself
24:04And learning to balance
24:05Right
24:06Is the biggest deal
24:07It's easier said than done
24:08You mentioned your 30-year-old son
24:10How has he handled
24:11Having Tiffany as mom
24:14And you getting recognized
24:15And that whole thing
24:17You know
24:18Elijah
24:19He
24:19I had the perfect son
24:20He just came out that way
24:22He's like
24:22Oh whatever
24:23You're my mom
24:24Yeah
24:25Okay
24:25That's pretty much
24:26He's like
24:27Anyway
24:27Can I get some food
24:29Great
24:29When you're done with that
24:30No he's really always been that way
24:32And I wouldn't change it for the world
24:33I'm just mom
24:34Tiffany you mentioned
24:35Emotions attached in songwriting
24:38And I'm curious as to
24:39At any point in your life
24:40Was there bitterness
24:41And or resentment towards
24:43I think we're alone now
24:44Did you ever look back on it
24:45And regret it
24:46No
24:47You always embraced it
24:48No I've never
24:49I didn't want to record the song
24:51So I started out with that mindset
24:53To be honest with you
24:53Even at 14
24:54I was like
24:56Well this isn't
24:57You know
24:57This isn't Stevie Nicks
24:58This is what I want to do
24:59I wanted
25:00I came from country
25:01To like
25:02More like a classic rock
25:03Transition
25:04All of the age of
25:06Nine and ten
25:07And then
25:08Landed in pop music
25:09And when we were first recording
25:11It was a little bit more
25:12Like the band Texas
25:14A little bit more like
25:16A Sheryl Crow
25:17A little Stevie Nicks
25:18And then all of a sudden
25:20Enter in
25:20I think we're alone now
25:22And I was
25:23Not thrilled
25:24I you know
25:25I thought that
25:25That wouldn't show
25:26I could sing
25:27Yeah
25:27And put me in a dance
25:28Category
25:29Which happened
25:31But that's not a bad thing
25:33You know
25:33It just was my path
25:35And now I can do
25:36Other things
25:37And still celebrate
25:39I think we're alone now
25:39So I've never gotten
25:40Tired of singing this song
25:41Everybody asks
25:42Are you gonna sing
25:43I think we're alone now
25:44Always
25:45Always
25:45Always
25:46And we've rocked it out
25:48So this show again
25:49We're having fun
25:50We've extended it
25:51It's got some new
25:52Like you know
25:53Different elements in it
25:55And of course
25:55We're gonna be rocking
25:56Our UV in it
25:57So
25:57Oh very cool
25:58Have fun with
25:59I think we're alone
26:00Now on the show
26:01Are we hearing that
26:02This morning
26:02Or are you gonna play
26:03That this morning
26:03We are
26:03Okay
26:04Excellent
26:04You guys have fun
26:05If you're hearing it
26:08On the radio now
26:09That's great
26:09But when you hear it
26:10In person
26:10You get to dance
26:11Oh yeah
26:12I'm milking this one
26:14Like I said
26:15This is really
26:16A celebration of music
26:17For me period
26:18For being here
26:19For over 30 years
26:20For having new fans
26:22And of course
26:24All the people
26:24That came to the mall tour
26:26In the beginning
26:26So that's
26:27I think you know
26:28Again
26:28This is the highlight
26:29Of the show
26:30At the end of the show
26:31I think we're alone now
26:32And we are
26:33We're gonna make you dance
26:34We're gonna make you sing
26:35Love it
26:36We're just gonna get
26:36All hot and sweaty
26:37And have a good time
26:38Alright well let's get
26:39A feel for it now
26:40If you're ready
26:40Awesome
26:41Tiffany's playing
26:41City Winery tonight
26:43Here we go
26:43On MMR
26:44Oh yeah
26:52I think we're alone now
26:57Yeah
26:58Children behave
27:02I think we're alone now
27:05I think we're alone now
27:07Doesn't seem to be anyone around
27:09I think we're alone now
27:12Beating up our hearts
27:15Is the only sign
27:16I think we're alone now
27:19I think we're alone now
27:20Doesn't seem to be anyone around
27:23I think we're alone now
27:25I think we're alone now
27:26Beating up our hearts
27:29Beating up our hearts
27:31Is the only sign
27:32I think we're alone now
27:33Doesn't seem to be anyone around
27:35Doesn't seem to be anyone around
27:36Doesn't seem to be anyone around
27:38I think we're alone now
27:39Beating up our hearts
27:41Is the only sign
27:43I think we're alone now
27:45Doesn't seem to be anyone around
27:50I think we're alone now
27:53The beating of us is the only sound
27:57Look out the way
28:00We got eye on what we're doing
28:05Cause what what they say
28:08If they ever knew and so we're fine just as fast as we can
28:14Holding on to one another's end
28:18Trying to get away into the night
28:22Then you come around me and we come on to the ground
28:26And then we say I think we're alone now
28:29Come on everybody
28:29It doesn't seem to be anyone around in your car
28:34I think we're alone now
28:36The beating of us is the only sound
28:40Oh yeah, I think we're alone now
28:44It doesn't seem to be anyone around
28:48I think we're alone now
28:51The beating of us
28:53The beating of us, yeah
28:56Yeah, yeah
29:00I think we're alone now, yeah
29:05All right, here we go
29:08But I just wish that's if we can
29:12Holding on to one another's end
29:16I'm getting away into the night
29:20Then you put your arm around me
29:22And we come on to the ground
29:24And then we say
29:25Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
29:29Oh yeah
29:32The beating of our hearts
29:37The beating of our hearts
29:39And I think we're alone now
29:41It doesn't seem to be anyone around
29:46I think we're alone now
29:49The beating of our hearts
29:51The beating of our hearts
29:53Yeah, let me hear your heartbeat
29:55Let me hear your heartbeat
29:57Let me touch your heartbeat
29:59I can change your heartbeat
30:01Let me hear your heartbeat
30:02Let me feel your heartbeat
30:04Let me touch your heartbeat
30:06I can change your heartbeat
30:08Let me hear your heartbeat
30:10Let me feel your heartbeat
30:11Let me touch your heartbeat
30:13I can change your heartbeat
30:15Let me hear your heartbeat
30:17Let me feel your heartbeat
30:18Let me touch your heartbeat
30:21Yeah, yeah
30:23I've been with a long time.
30:29Yeah!
30:31I so wanted to sing along, but I would have ruined it.
30:35I would have destroyed it.
30:36I was going to say the same thing.
30:38Tiffany wanted us to sing along.
30:40I'm like, we're not ruining this.
30:42We're going to ruin this.
30:43Tiffany, you don't realize how bad we are.
30:46I can see it.
30:47I can see everything.
30:47We were grooving.
30:49We were heavily grooving, so we stayed away from that.
30:51Sorry.
30:51Again, Tiffany playing City Winery tonight.
30:54I have a question about that song and a moment in there that I absolutely love.
30:59You do it twice, and it's in the line.
31:02I'm talking about the original recording.
31:04End of the night, because you go, end of the night.
31:06I do.
31:07Did a producer ask you to do it that way?
31:09Okay, that's what I thought.
31:10I've always had that kind of Stevie Nicks grit, probably because that's all I did in a room.
31:17I can see, all that kind of stuff.
31:20Yeah, so it's naturally there, but of course, on the record, he was like, I really want
31:24it into the night.
31:26And of course, it was the 80s, guys.
31:28Well, you sounded, your voice was much older.
31:32I mean, I heard the song before I saw the video, and I thought this had to be a much older
31:36singer.
31:37Right.
31:37Yeah, so that was very, very accomplished.
31:41So, Tommy James and the Shandells were the artists.
31:45Did you ever interact with him?
31:46Oh, I've met Tommy James so many times.
31:48He's lovely, and he's wonderful.
31:51Richie Cordell was the writer of the song as well.
31:53But yeah, I mean, when the song came to me at first, it was like, children behave.
31:58I was like, where are we going with this?
31:59It was very croonerish, yeah.
32:01And then I came back the next day, and it was dun-dun-dun-dun, and I was like, oh, it's
32:04even worse, okay.
32:07Well, the songwriter had to have loved you, because he put some dollars in his pocket.
32:13Well, and not to mention, I think it was like four months later, five months later, we have
32:17Moany Moany from Billy Idol.
32:18Yeah.
32:19It was a good year.
32:21No, you're right.
32:21I forgot about that.
32:22That was not that long after that.
32:24But great songs.
32:24Come on.
32:25Wasn't Dirty Dancing that year as well?
32:26And that soundtrack was huge, and there was like a lot of 50s, 60s era, like doo-wop
32:30music on there.
32:31Yes, I think so.
32:32And that all complemented one of them.
32:33Yeah.
32:34Wow.
32:34Well, listen, we're so excited you made it by here this morning.
32:37And we wanted to thank you for, you know, that excitement that we got 20 years ago.
32:41We will never forget it.
32:4220-some-odd years ago on South Street.
32:44It was so cool, and today was so cool, and tonight's going to be so cool.
32:48City Winery, if you'd like to go see Tiffany.
32:51So we're happy that you're still doing what you do.
32:54And if you're going to do more than ever.
32:56For the movie stuff, you've got to get back in touch with us.
32:59Oh, definitely.
32:59We want to hear about that, too.
33:00TiffanyTeams.com, everybody who's listening, please visit me there.
33:04That's all things TIFF World, and come be a part of my world.
33:07Yes.
33:07We're doing a lot of different things, and of course, music is always in there somewhere.
33:11So, definitely.
33:12Thank you so much for being here.
33:13It's Tiffany, everybody.
33:15City Winery tonight.
33:16We are going to take a break.
33:17We'll come back in just a second.
33:18Stay with us.
