00:00you know this is like semi-historic today it's absolutely i believe this is the first
00:06live music we've had in the studio post pandemic in years so it's it's literally literally years
00:12and it was a pretty regular thing for us so we're excited that uh these ladies are representing
00:18that live music we were playing some uh music from them last week on the show and we're excited
00:24they're just stopping through town just say hello and play please welcome uh alejandra danielle and
00:30paulina from the warning good morning guys good morning welcome we're so glad you made it here
00:39and and just stopping through right you guys aren't playing in town are you we played yesterday you
00:44played last night okay where's the gig last night in the brook and bowl oh oh yeah how was that was
00:50that cool it was awesome we had a bowling alley literally in the same venue that was crazy yes
00:56that's always cool right you go did you go throwing any did you did you bowl at all while you were there
01:00i lost in first place you lost yes i lost in first place lost in first place yes okay if you can put
01:07that ball toes off that's a cool thing to do uh so uh the three ladies here are sisters and uh is your
01:14last name pronounced via real is that how you say it yes i got it you pronounced it correctly wow how about
01:19that two years of spanish junior high school thank you very much yes yes it paid off this once um no
01:29but you you guys are uh born in mexico yes okay as well we're mexican nice nice and uh so here's the
01:38question because we're just learning about you guys um you had a viral video uh that hit and it was you
01:43guys playing uh covering metallica yes how old were you at the time when you did the video oh my god i don't
01:49remember exactly how old it was 2014 14 so i was 14 so i was 12 i was nine oh my god we were tiny we
01:58were yeah yeah but it took off i mean it took off like crazy like millions and millions i think was
02:05the last tally of someone upwards of 28 million views or something like that oh my god i didn't know
02:09that number no yeah that was basically what started our whole career as musicians yeah not only that
02:15you end up on metallica's own radar they're they're they're thrilled with it yeah and everyone
02:20getting kudos but it progresses right preston and it was a cool for so full circle moment because now
02:26last year we were able to participate with our own version of enter salmon in the metallica blacklist
02:31album which is the 30th anniversary of the black album so it's just oh we started with that song
02:37and now we have our own version for our metallica album that's amazing it's amazing who who posted the
02:43video is it one of your parents yeah no kidding no kidding wow yeah we posted videos on youtube for
02:50like our grandparents to see them and then suddenly millions of views well dad dad certainly deserves a
02:55rare spot in the uh in the liner notes right of course that's very cool all right so uh to to run
03:01down who does what in the band for those who may not uh know uh alan alohandra plays bass uh danielle is
03:08the uh guitarist yeah and uh paulina the drummer i'm the drummer fellow drummer thank you very much
03:13totally man right yes who started first who got involved in music first uh well it was the same
03:20time yeah but pow and i at the same time because ale was just i was too young baby when we learned to
03:26play piano yeah so we started it off and then ale was just like i want to yeah i want in all right
03:33and then but at that point you know sometimes you know siblings can get involved in the same activity
03:38it doesn't mean they want to do it together um were you playing with other people or just always you
03:44three no it was basically we all played individually it was never a group thing it was only after alice
03:50started playing the bass when she was like i don't know how old you were was i like seven eight well oh my
03:55god okay yes that we started like oh we can play these instruments together yeah and that's just
04:01kind of how i started out did you all like rock or or what what i assume there are multiple everyone
04:07always has multiple influences but were you all rockers right from the get-go yes because our parents
04:11are rockers but basically we listen to a lot of different types of music but it was the video game
04:17the rock band that really got us into rock and that was the reason why we started playing the
04:21instruments we play today did songs of yours end up on the event how cool is that how cool is that
04:27for it was we have two songs on rock band four it was insane do you play your own song we tried
04:33you couldn't play your own song that's crazy that's hilarious how well do you guys get along
04:45uh because we get along really well do you okay because you're females your sisters you live
04:51together you're like that's that's a lot of a lot of time spent together no but but honestly we're
04:57best friends and uh we make like this is a really hard um career to have sometimes yeah but i feel like
05:04we manage it so well because we communicate with each other really well because we're sisters and it's
05:08just a really nice environment to be in we feel very comfortable if you something think about it i mean
05:13the the the industry can be pretty predatorial and it can eat people up and and to have people
05:18that you know i mean you're not going to get anybody closer than family to watch your back
05:21well the reason i ask is because the world of rock is littered with with uh brothers and sisters that
05:25have hated each other oh yeah over the years the the the gallagher brothers from oasis and the the
05:31davies from the kinks and the black crows and so that but you know none of that for you none of
05:36that you guys you guys love each other nothing but love we can definitely tell that that's cool so uh as far as
05:42and we're going to get you guys to play uh the song money here in a moment uh because it's awesome
05:46uh first of all uh who does majority of the writing you guys work together does one of you write the
05:51songs how does that work out so we write the songs the three of us together i the drummer usually start
05:56the songs in the piano if i have a melody lyrics a little bass of something i show it to them and then
06:02we start working on it the three of us together and that's usually where the song takes off but it's a
06:08really cool process but talking about the sister thing that's usually where we fight the most yeah
06:12oh with the song writing yeah they all agree do you have a good so that if you set the parameters
06:19and say okay we're going to fight but we're fighting for the same cause so does that how you
06:23get set our works okay and at the end of the day music is just opinions right tastes so it's just
06:31kind of like balancing our opinions until we reach a middle ground okay and that's what we've been
06:36doing so far it's gotta be hard because you you you write something that that you like that it but
06:42the other people aren't the other two might not be hearing it and they have to choose am i going to
06:46be honest that i don't really like this or am i just going to say yeah that's good we usually choose
06:52the honesty path good yeah it's crazy to kind of try and describe and pitch your idea because you
06:57hear it in your head but no one else is hearing that so yeah so you kind of have to like sell your
07:02point without having an actual point if that makes any sense i know anthony kiedis i remember i was
07:09watching was it maybe behind the music or whatever and he was talking about under the bridge you know
07:13and when he came to the rest of the band he was sure they were gonna hate it and they didn't quite
07:18they didn't quite get it but they didn't they said okay let's let's work this and and he said
07:22that's when he felt this is my band we're a band like they need mean they may not understand it
07:28right now but they're gonna work with me to get what i want to get out so you guys have that same
07:32dynamic whole thing that's exactly it yeah that's very cool what about what about your parents do
07:36they have in in say in the music at all or they leave it up to you guys oh they leave it up to us
07:41definitely yeah like they really support us throughout the whole process but the like
07:46that's our thing okay we'll give honest opinions though yeah good so that's good well and i feel
07:51like with family too like parents and then especially siblings there's no like you can be honest like
07:56i'm just thinking about talking to my brothers like i would never sugarcoat anything with them i'm
08:00like no you're being a jerk right now she doesn't sugarcoat with us exactly uh okay so you guys are
08:06we're gonna talk some more but let's get some music okay we want to hear money and uh if that's
08:12cool yes of course we actually are gonna mix it up a little bit okay i usually sing the song
08:17pow's going to sing the song today so you get like it's gonna sing a special edition yes
08:23and it's an acoustic version of the song all right it's an exclusive here on the president steve show
08:29all right ladies and gentlemen this is the warning with money on mmr
08:33hey whoa
08:37i don't wanna break this down to you
08:44it's a cruel thing that we learn to do
08:52because we all gotta pay for something all gonna kill for nothing happiness at its price
09:03less and more in this business for pats that he won't be the illness that we will learn to love
09:11are you worth your weight in gold going once going twice sold it's all about the cold hard cash on
09:23go ahead and cry shallow pools of blood diamond news round you know
09:39go ahead and cry shallow pools of blood how long will it last how long till you learn
09:57another stack of sins to be buried in diamond news round you know
10:04go ahead and cry shallow pools of blood how long will it last how long till you learn
10:12go ahead and cry shallow pools of blood how long will it last how long till you learn
10:23another stack of sins to be buried in diamond news at your throat hey
10:32oh my god wow you're not the singer you're not the lead singer
10:41that's insane that is the lungs on you the power that you've got that's crazy you're all very
10:49diminutive here so the fact that that came out of you but any of you is amazing what were you
10:53gonna say danielle that yeah her lung capacity is amazing she sings like that while playing the
10:58drums wow every night so yeah it's fun that
11:03now that's awesome what a great sound man oh man i'm i'm blown away no they're phenomenal
11:17when you heard the song initially we're like holy crap like you said diminutive smaller stature but
11:21huge in sound and you guys are going to be with some other powerful voices later on you're going to
11:26be uh uh joining uh pretty reckless hailstorm lila czar amazing that's like a hardcore rock chick
11:33fanatic uh show set we're so excited about that first of all we're honored to be part of that tour
11:39and to be opening for like these bands that we admire so much and just to learn from them i feel
11:46like that's the most exciting part about touring with other bands yeah just learning from them and
11:50they're just so amazing how about lizzie hale's voice man that's crazy right it's insane i love her
11:56so much so i'm very excited about that have you had a chance to to interact and mingle with any of them
12:01yeah okay we actually um met during the pandemic through zoom yeah in an event that we were in
12:08together um and she's the nicest person she's so sweet yes yeah so you you mentioned learning from
12:14them you guys did you guys give a couple of ted talks yourself as far as yes oh my god about getting
12:19the industry we did um it was back in like 2016 and 17 were you nervous yes like we were really
12:28nervous 14 and then like you know playing it's our thing we love to do that but like talking yeah
12:35with the instruments and the band the sound system you got kind of a comfort zone you know what i mean
12:43but but just a microphone and speaking to an audience i'm gonna put you guys in the top five
12:47percent of any band we've ever had in here for conversing and everything so you got it don't
12:52worry about it you've got personality to spare but i know what you're saying at ted talk and you were
12:56you were addressing the industry right and and getting involved that's cool we love to see this i
13:01don't think the time has ever been better at least in as far as we can remember to have all these um
13:07rocking female bands that are really killing it you know coming into the arena so you two and you're on
13:14on the younger end to say hey anybody can get through that door it's pretty cool to have you
13:19what do you what are your what's your fan base like describe your fan base is our fan base it's
13:24crazy because it's like a mix of everything yeah it's a very familiar fan base i think well is it
13:31that's how you say familiar familiar that the word is no it's not it's like a family familial
13:37yeah yeah basically um it could go like to older rocker um people yeah like when they first saw us
13:47with the metallica cover like yeah they got really into that and when we released our own music they
13:51were also like hooked on that and they're just so amazing but we also have a younger crowd but we also
13:57have like a really younger crowd like the older crowd who would bring their grandkids yeah and
14:04everything it really varies also like by country like in mexico in our like home country it's like
14:10usually like people our age people our age but here we really do see like a really wide variety of
14:17okay i think it's cool because it's you know because this is the lifeblood this station has a you
14:21know multi-decade history of of of rock and and i mean you know when uh stairway to heaven came out
14:26that was debut you know it was being played as a current here so it blows blows your mind so
14:31the fact that this i mean this always makes us smile because this bodes well for the future of
14:36rock that you guys are doing straight up real rock very much so yeah all right so i have a question
14:41you guys and this is going to sound a little creepy but you guys are young attractive girls
14:45how do you handle the the creeper level like somebody like me
14:48listen because so we have this uh this group's going to be playing our big festival show the mmrbq
14:55froggy and they're young as well three piece female group and i've seen them on social media
15:00going guys stop with the comments you know online and so on that that kind of crossed the line and
15:06i'm sure with you know you guys being young and your parents being involved it's got to be
15:10it's got to be a little how do you process that i mean the internet is crazy we always i mean
15:16yes as we started on the internet i feel like we've like it's something sad but like you see it all
15:21the time and you kind of like get the sensibilities to it but we started out like our parents like
15:26really protected us throughout the whole thing and they still do basically it's just surrounding
15:30yourself with a team that can really help you through it because sometimes it could be like
15:35really weird like it can be yeah but and also like we the three of us we protect each other
15:41and like we always make sure that if something is happening that we can help each other out
15:45crazy to think about but we started 10 years ago so we have yeah we have we have seen yeah i mean
15:52you you guys are seasoned pros at this point uh you know it's funny when you think about it though and
15:58i i forget who is there's another ted talk as a matter of fact talking about how social media
16:03is used and who's using it there's a small percentage of people seem to get the most air on social media
16:10when you realize that's not the vast majority of people who are these some of these derelicts and
16:14stuff like that that you know that's that's a side thing and i always our our mindset is just
16:20remember the source remember the kind of person who'd get who'd get that way and just dismiss them
16:24because it seems like on every other level the fans and what we read the comments and stuff all
16:28huge and they love you by the way here's a here's a comment i think you guys will like a text that
16:32came across it says that song was something you might hear in the intro of a james bond movie
16:36oh god stop thank you thank you that's nice well you know billy eilish just got uh they
16:42were yeah yeah yeah on movie which is pretty cool yeah all right well i know you guys are headed to
16:50baltimore do you have a show tonight or tomorrow night or do you even know where you're going
16:53it's tomorrow night okay you need some rest you got a day off which is cool you did us a favor today
16:58yeah and uh well listen we're very very impressed this is excellent and we thank you uh for coming
17:04by this morning one more time for you can i get a hey one more time that is awesome uh you guys are
17:14the best stop by here anytime please thank you for having us yes thank you so much you'll have our
