00:00Well, let's get to the PGA Tour.

00:03Anything happen this week?

00:06Just a few things.

00:08We do have to, in somewhat somber fashion, say rest in peace to Jay Sigel,

00:13one of the greatest amateurs in the history of the game of golf,

00:15a Walker Cup legend, passed away, I guess, from some pancreatic cancer,

00:20sort of, I guess, the side effects around that, but just battling with cancer

00:25and losing him, I believe, at the age of 81.

00:28One legend, amateur legend in the game of golf.

00:30So, RIP to Jay and our thoughts and prayers going to your family.

00:33So, let's get over to the RBC Heritage at Harbortown.

00:39And, Smiley, obviously a lot to unpack with Justin Thomas' win.

00:43Here's where I want to start.

00:44As you have, we did on the show a number of weeks ago,

00:48you give us a ranking of all the PGA Tour venues.

00:53I think the way you were sort of profiling these was in the order that provides

00:57excitement for PGA Tour events, the best finishes.

01:00You had PGA National high on that list because of the bear trap.

01:04I want to know where Harbortown ranks on your courses,

01:07where I want to tee it up with the boys and delete a million beers

01:10and have a good time sort of list of PGA Tour venues.

01:12Like, the places you most want to play Smiley Confident on tour,

01:16where does Harbortown land?

01:18It's not high up there.

01:20Really?

01:21It's too narrow, man.

01:22But it looks like fun, though.

01:24It looks like a cool course.

01:25It's got a lot of character to it.

01:26Listen, I love walking it.

01:29I love watching it.

01:30I don't want to play it.

01:31I never played in Harbortown.

01:32It was the one PGA Tour event that I never played in because I always thought

01:36it was too narrow.

01:39And it's nothing against the event.

01:41It's a fantastic event.

01:43And I was so jealous walking the grounds the last couple of years

01:46and thinking to myself, man, I would have loved to have played this event.

01:51And listen, it's just some courses don't fit your eye.

01:54It just doesn't fit my eye.

01:56Do you derive any sort of enjoyment or pleasure from playing at a place that is,

02:01that you know is a cool course, it's a well-designed course,

02:05it holds some historic precedent in the game of golf,

02:08but it just does not suit Smiley Confident's golf game?

02:11Like where is, is that on this list?

02:14Listen, I mean, there's not a whole lot of courses that, that fit a big miss,

02:18you know, like there's, there's not many golf courses in the world that,

02:21that fit a, that fit a high.

02:24So if I'm playing decent, dude, I would love to play out there.

02:27I've played out there before.

02:30As far as where it ranks, as far as playing with your buddies,

02:33you got to remember, like you, you did mention buddies,

02:36like these guys can't keep it at play either.

02:38So that's the other problem.

02:39That's a good point.

02:40So when you talk about just the general weather vibes,

02:44all of that taken into account, I mean, that's, that's going to be up there,

02:48right?

02:48Like that's, that's keeping, keeping it afloat,

02:51but there's a lot,

02:52a lot of other things that bring us back down to earth that make it probably

02:55much more middle of the pack.

02:56And that's nothing against Harvard town.

02:58Yeah.

02:59I mean, it seems like a great place to hang.

03:00I just,

03:00I love all the flowers and the visuals and you're kind of getting that South

03:03Carolina, low country feel.

03:05And yeah, I mean, definitely some narrow sidelines.

03:08Ironically TPC Craig ranch, maybe the place that suits, you know,

03:12just hit it anywhere.

03:13Living Astro turf.

03:15I'm not going to ask you to comment on TPC Craig ranch,

03:18but I'm just saying, I'm just saying it's a little food for thought there.

03:21Maybe, maybe suits the,

03:23the buddy hang of the best of all the courses.

03:26Let's talk, let's talk about Justin Thomas.

03:28First win since the 2022 PJ championship.

03:32Saw Jill there.

03:33We saw a little Molly there.

03:34Molly full head of hair, by the way.

03:36She grew it in Quake since November.

03:39I mean, good for her to get her first win.

03:43Just, I thought this was interesting, Smiley,

03:45just looking at the stats from this week,

03:47because JT, when you go back,

03:51and you look at the ranks here,

03:53it was the week off the tee was good early.

03:56He shoots that 61 on Thursday.

03:58And it just, I mean, that round was stupid.

04:01Unreal.

04:02But over the course of the week, it was actually off the tee.

04:04He was kind of middle of a pack and then kind of maybe even struggled at

04:06times as approach.

04:08Of course, he is always elite in that category around.

04:11The green was, you know, 14th in the field.

04:13T to green was 11th in the field.

04:15It was putting where he ended up fourth in the field strokes game.

04:19And this is something that we've talked about with JT.

04:21You know, if he gets a hot putter, he can win any of any tees it up.

04:24And this week was, it looked like there was a ton of confidence.

04:28It looked like he was, you know, the pace was good.

04:30He was reading the greens well.

04:32I mean, this has got to be a huge confidence builder for him,

04:35given that that club has been sort of a hot and cold thing for JT in years past.

04:39Yeah.

04:40It's been a tremendous improvement for him this year.

04:43When you've looked at the stats over the last couple of years,

04:45the putter has been something that's definitely let him down.

04:48Went through a bit of a swing issue.

04:51This probably was, I vividly remember LACC being probably the peak,

04:59where it felt like he was really searching and trying to play golf swing in the U.S. Open.

05:07And he got exposed.

05:09You know, he shot 80, was it?

05:10The Open Championship as well.

05:12I think he also posted a 40-80 round there and LACC, but yeah.
