00:00Celebration naman ng Solo Parents Week ang ating tatalakayin kasama si Red de Guzman,

00:05Secretary General ng National Council for Solo Parents.

00:09Secretary General, magandang tanghali po and welcome sa Bagong Pilipinas ngayon.

00:14Magandang tanghali po sa lahat na nanonood at sa lahat ng mga solo parents sa buong Pilipinas,

00:20magandang tanghali sa inyong lahat.

00:22Sir, maaari niyo po bang ipaliwanag kung ano ang layunin ng pagdiriwang ng Solo Parents Week

00:27at kailan po yung unang ipinagdiwang ang Solo Parents Week dito sa Pilipinas?

00:32Well, yung Solo Parents Sector kasi nabuo siya nung nagkaroon tayo ng Republic Act 89-72 noong 2000.

00:40This was during the term ni Presidente Joseph Estrada.

00:44Wala pa doon yung Solo Parents Week and Solo Parents Day Celebration

00:48pero noong June 4, 2022, nagkaroon tayo ng Republic Act 11861

00:54or yung Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act.

00:57At dito, isinasad na every 3rd week of April and 3rd Saturday of April

01:03ay kinikilala bilang National Solo Parents Week and National Solo Parents Day respectively.

01:09Nagkataon lang this year kasi pumatak siya as Holy Week

01:12so minug na siya after.

01:17Sector, ano naman po yung tema ng Solo Parents Week ngayon

01:20at ano po ba yung inaasahan na mangyayari sa celebration

01:24ng National Solo Parents Week?

01:29Well, ang DSWDS, the lead agency for the Solo Parents,

01:33nagsimula sila doon na yung Solo Parent Registrado ay protectado

01:38dahil nga may batas na.

01:40And for this year, yung Solo Parents na Registrado ay supportado na

01:44kasi unti-unti, the benefits, the programs na nasa batas

01:48ay naipapatupad na siya from the National Government agencies.

01:54Sir, ano-ano yung mga activities o yung mga programa

01:57na inihanda ninyo para sa celebration ito

02:00at paano po ba nakikinabang ang mga Solo Parents

02:03sa mga programa ng inyong ahensya?

02:05So right now, ano, yung mga local government units

02:09nag-bubuo sila ng kani-kaniyang mga celebrations

02:14so nang kagaya sa Caloocan City for example

02:16yung one-week celebration, finifeature nila yung iba't-ibang mga

02:20products na nagagawa ng mga Solo Parents from the livelihood trainings

02:25so nag-open sila ng bazar.

02:28Ngayon, kami naman on Thursday and Friday

02:32magkakaroon kami ng psychosocial seminars for our Solo Parents

02:37tungkol sa emotional and mental well-being naman

02:40ng ating mga Solo Parents.

02:42That's very important po, sir.

02:44Sir, ano po ba yung pangunahing hamon

02:46na kinakaharap ng mga Solo Parents sa Pilipinas

02:49at paano po tumutugon ang inyong ahensya

02:52sa mga pangangailangan ito?

02:53Well, dalawa kasi yan, ano, yung isa is from the financial standpoint,

02:58siyempre, lahat naman ng pamilya may mga financial needs yan.

03:01Pero when it comes to the Solo Parents kasi,

03:03it's very unique sa ating Solo Parent families

03:07kasi nandiyan pumapasok yung relationship kasi

03:10between the parent and the child.

03:13And ang isa sa pinakamalaking hamon sa ating Solo Parents

03:16is how to cope with the responsibility na yung dalawang magulang

03:21sa isang atawan, parang gano'n, ano.

03:23And still, you have to take care yung needs ng mga anak mo

03:27while, well, ito yung sad reality, ano.

03:30Marami sa Solo Parents,

03:32dahil they focus on the needs of the children,

03:34they now forget yung pang-sarili nila.

03:37Yung concept ng self-care and self-

03:40yung masyadong bumababa kasi yung self-worth,

03:44minsan na isang Solo Parent.

03:46Actually, that's true.

03:47I know some Solo Parents,

03:48hesitant na rin magkaroon ng mga relationship with others

03:53kasi nga nakafocus lang sila sa mga children nila.

03:57Yes.

03:57But sir, may bagong batas ba?

03:59O paano kalang programa po ba kayong isinusulong

04:02para sa kapakanan ng Solo Parents?

04:04Well, sa ngayon, ano,

04:06meron tayong program ng kasama ang DSWD,

04:10nag-initiate ang DSWD yung tinatawag nilang

04:12Strengthening Opportunities for Loan Parents

04:15or yung program Solo.

04:16And this one focuses on the psychosocial interventions,

04:21not so much on the financial

04:22at mga social services.

04:24Ito talaga,

04:26gaya sabi mo nga,

04:26may mga Solo Parents,

04:28takot na silang to enter into a new relationship.

04:30Ito ngayong program na ito,

04:32it helps them to prepare.

04:33Hindi lang si Solo Parent,

04:35pati anak ni Solo Parent.

04:36How to transition from yung unang pamilya,

04:40tapos napunta ka,

04:41naging Solo Parent ka,

04:42tapos ngayon,

04:42magkakaroon ng panibagong pamilya naman.

04:45So, it helps them to transition.

04:46At the same time,

04:47binibigyan emphasis nito yung

04:49pangangailangan ni Solo Parent,

04:51pangangailangan ng anak,

04:52and how to strengthen yung communication

04:55between the parent and the child.

04:57Sir, sa tingin po ninyo,

04:59ano pa yung ibang mga kinakailangan

05:02para mas mapalakas yung suporta

05:04sa mga Solo Parent?

05:06So far,

05:06we are very thankful

05:09sa ating mga national government agencies

05:11kasi nag-re-respond naman sila.

05:13And yung mga nakalagay sa batas,

05:15they're really moving forward with it.

05:18Ang medyo nahihiraban tayo ngayon

05:19kasi hindi lahat ng local government units

05:21are responding.

05:23Isa sa pinakamalaking hadlang dito,

05:25syempre hindi naman pare-parehas

05:26ng financial capacity

05:28ang ating mga local government units.

05:30Pero yun nga,

05:30dito po mapasok ngayon,

05:32yung initiative ng ating local government units

05:34itap yung mga nasa private sector,

05:37yung mga faith-based organizations,

05:40lalong-lalo na

05:40yung mga interventions

05:43from the local government na

05:45kasi ang isa sa beneficyo dapat

05:47i-prioritize

05:49ano yung ating mga solo parents

05:50in terms of job placement,

05:53livelihood trainings.

05:54So, ito,

05:55kaya naman gawin ni LGU ito.

05:57So, sana mabigyan pa ng pansin ito.
