00:00Let's meet the new Danica Patrick of NASCAR.

00:02Catherine Lega, the 44-year-old racer being dubbed by some as NASCAR's new Danica Patrick,

00:07is facing heavy criticism after a controversial comment and a string of tough performances.

00:12Lega, who recently transitioned into NASCAR, has had a rocky start to her Cup Series journey.

00:17She made headlines for all the wrong reasons after wrecking Daniel Suarez during her debut

00:21in Phoenix. Now, she's back in the spotlight after another on-track incident, this time

00:25involving fan-favorite Casey Conney during his much-anticipated return at Rockingham.

00:29The clash not only cut Conney's race short, but also fueled the fire surrounding Lega,

00:33who's already under the microscope. Critics have been quick to compare her to Danica Patrick,

00:37though not in the flattering, trailblazing way Patrick is often remembered. Instead,

00:41the comparison seems more about scrutiny than success, especially after Lega made a remark

00:58Rockingham incident, saying,

01:00"...they meant it when they said they support me and believe in our program. Unfortunately,

01:04there was nothing I could do about Swalic getting right up under the back of the car

01:07and taking me and subsequently others out of the race."

01:10While Lega stands by her team's backing and her position in the race, the comment has only fueled

01:14the debate, with critics accusing her of deflecting blame. As the comparisons to Danica Patrick continue,
