Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash was found stabbed to death in his Bengaluru home.

00:12His body was found with stabbed wounds at his residence in Bengaluru on 20th April 2025.

00:17His wife, Pallavi, emerged as the prime suspect.

00:20According to the police, Pallavi has confessed,

00:23Moments after the murder, she dialed 112, the police helpline, and allegedly said,

00:27I was the one who committed the murder.

00:30In a chilling twist, she even made a video call to a friend and allegedly said,

00:34I have killed the monster.

00:36It seems that some sharp weapon has been used because there's a lot of blood loss

00:39because of it seems that death has happened.

00:42Om Prakash's body was found in a pool of blood on the ground floor.

00:46He had stab injuries on the neck and head.

00:48A broken bottle and a knife were found near his body.

00:51Their son, Kartikesh, wasn't home at the time.

00:53In his police complaint, he said he returned to find his father lying in blood

00:57and alleged that his mother had been threatening to kill his father for a week.

01:01Fearing for his life, Omrakash had temporarily moved in with his sister.

01:05But two days before the murder, Pallavi, possibly with the help of the daughter,

01:08allegedly lured him back home.

01:10Both Pallavi and the daughter were arrested.

01:13The possible motives?

01:14A long-standing property dispute, continued domestic strife,

01:17and what some close to the family claim was deteriorating mental health.

01:22Kartikesh stated in the FIR that both his mother and sister suffered from depression

01:26and frequently fought with his father.

01:29Family sources also revealed that Pallavi had been suffering from schizophrenia for 12 years,

01:34often experiencing delusions, anxiety and paranoia.

01:37She even alleged Om Prakash threatened her with a gun on multiple occasions.

01:41Those close to Om Prakash say the signs of him being in danger were there.

01:44VIP security inspector Srinivas shared that Om Prakash had called him around 3pm on the day of the murder.

01:51He sounded calm and mentioned he was going home but quickly added not to visit since his wife was there.

01:56Srinivas described the relationship as anything but normal.

02:00He said Om Prakash often felt mentally drained, spent lax on his wife's treatment

02:04and was unable to meet or speak freely with anyone.

02:08He was frustrated, isolated and deeply disturbed by his wife's behaviour.
