00:26Chinese sellers promoted their products in videos and linked directly to DHgate, driving

00:32a surge in downloads.

00:34This also brought attention to Taobao, China's ultimate e-commerce super app.

00:40Consumers can shop for original designs, name brands, fresh produce and even book flights

00:45or recharge their phones.

00:47But here's the twist.

00:49Chinese exports to the US now face tariffs of up to 145% due to President Trump's trade

00:55policies.

00:57It turns out the tariffs have not stopped people from buying Chinese goods.

01:01They just stopped buying from American middlemen.
