00:00I've had back-to-back meetings here in El Salvador with our team from the American

00:21Embassy, with the Vice President of El Salvador, with human rights groups.

00:26And the entire purpose has been to bring Abrego Garcia home because U.S. courts have determined

00:36that he was illegally abducted from the United States and now finds himself in the most notorious

00:42prison in El Salvador.

00:46The Supreme Court, nine to nothing, has told the Trump administration they must facilitate

00:51his return home.

00:53They've refused to do it.

00:55So I called upon the government of El Salvador to do it unless they can provide evidence

01:01that he's been involved in MS-13.

01:03They said they had no evidence.

01:06So this is not about MS-13.

01:10I know President Trump wants to make this about gang violence.

01:15I have been fighting MS-13 probably longer than Donald Trump even knew about MS-13.

01:23I care about every victim of crime.

01:27That's why we have a court system to hold people accountable when they commit crimes, to make

01:34sure that they get the punishment they deserve.

01:38We also have a court system to make sure that people who have not committed crimes or not

01:43been convicted of crimes are not disappeared out of the United States and sent to a notorious

01:52prison in El Salvador, like Abrego Garcia.

01:56This is simply about letting him have his day in court.

02:00We use the courts to make sure that we don't convict people who are not guilty and that we convict

02:07those who are.
