00:00Yang Dipertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, says it was unacceptable for Sinshu Daily to wrongly depict the Jalo Gemilang on the front page of yesterday's edition of its newspaper.
00:13In a statement, Sultan Ibrahim said Sinshu's management and editorial department should have been more vigilant and reviewed all materials before printing.
00:22He stressed that the Jalo Gemilang is a symbol of Malaysia's sovereignty and should not be ridiculed.
00:27Yesterday, Sinshu apologized for an illustration on the front page of its newspaper that wrongly depicted the Jalo Gemilang without the crescent moon.
00:37Earlier, Inspector General of Police Razoruddin Hussein said the matter would be investigated under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
00:45The Home Ministry said it is also investigating the incident under the Emblems and Names Act 1963 and the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984.
00:54The Ministry had issued Sinshu Daily with a show-cost letter and had summoned its management.
