00:14Boise, Nampa, Idaho, thank you so, so much.

00:20And I want to take the opportunity and I want to thank, love you right back.

00:28I want to thank each and every one of you for making the effort to be here today,

00:36for taking the time to join together.

00:43You know, it's funny, I was hearing that earlier today on the television,

00:49there was someone saying, why is AOC, why is AOC Bernie going to Idaho?

00:55And I'll give you one simple answer.

01:00It's because you matter.

01:07It's because we matter.

01:09My name is Alexandria, some of you may know me as AOC, and again, from the bottom of my heart,

01:21thank you for welcoming me.

01:22You know, we're here together today because we share, all of us share in the frustration

01:33and the heartbreak that comes from watching those in power actively tear down

01:40or refuse to fight for everyday working Americans like us.

01:47And we're here together because an extreme concentration of power, greed, and corruption

01:55is taking over this country like never before.

01:59You know, it's bone chilling every day, there's something new.

02:07And today we just saw President Trump express openness to taking U.S. citizens

02:15and sending them off without due process to foreign prisons.

02:24It's anti-American.

02:29But this concentration of power, greed, and corruption is oligarchy.

02:34It's oligarchy in America.

02:37And we must acknowledge the terrifying moment that we are in right now

02:43and that what we are hearing and seeing with our own eyes is, in fact, happening.

02:50We are watching as our neighbors, students, and friends are being fired, targeted, and disappeared.

02:58This is real.

03:00People we love are being targeted and harassed just for being LGBTQ.

03:06Our workers, our co-workers, U.S. citizens, and immigrants alike are being disappeared off

03:17the street by men in vans with no uniform.

03:21Educators are being fired for teaching American people.

03:28American history accurately.

03:30And activists are being detained with no charge or evidence for using their First Amendment rights,

03:40especially if they are being used to end the war in Gaza.

03:48In fact, the Trump administration admits that it has jailed Mahmoud Khalil,

03:52a young husband and father from where I come from in New York,

03:57without any evidence or charge of a crime.

04:01They openly admit that they have thrown him in a cell thousands of miles away

04:07because he attended a protest and they did not like the content of his speech.

04:12And Donald Trump's detention of Mahmoud Khalil for his speech is anti-American, too.

04:22And we demand his release, along with the release of Rumaysa Ozturk,

04:28who he is also jailing for writing an op-ed in her school paper.
