00:00The highest railway bridge in the world, the Chenab Rail Bridge, is set to become
00:06fully operational on April 19th, 2025. The engineering marvel stretched 1,315 meters
00:12across the Chenab River in the Riyasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. It stands 359 meters tall,
00:17making it the highest railway bridge in the world, even taller than the Eiffel Tower.
00:20The Chenab bridge forms part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link USBRL project,
00:25which plans to integrate the Jammu and Kashmir region into the Indian Railway system.
00:48Prime Minister Modi will also commence a Vande Bharat Express service across the bridge during
00:52the inauguration on April 19th, 2025. The Chenab bridge was built to withstand earthquakes of up
00:57to eight magnitude and fierce winds, blowing at up to 260 kilometers per hour. The view from
01:01Chenab bridge has been nothing short of magical mountains, valleys and the river all in one
01:05breathtaking frame. Like many Indian infrastructure projects, the Chenab bridge was completed and
01:10inaugurated on August 13th, 2022. Since then, it has undergone rigorous trials to ensure top-notch
01:15safety, utility and performance standards.
