Tobi and BMitch discuss the Commanders first round draft options with NFL Draft analyst Dane Brugler. Dane believes an edge rusher could be the perfect fit for Washington at the end of the first round.

00:00I'm curious about Shamar Stewart at three.

00:02I saw Mel Kuyper had him mocked to the Commanders at 29 there.

00:06How do you measure out or how do you weigh the lack of sack total there for him

00:12versus the measurables and how explosive of an athlete he is?

00:17Yeah, and really this entire draft class is just outside of the quarterbacks.

00:23There's a lot more question marks than anything.

00:25This draft doesn't have 10 true top 10 guys.

00:29It's just not how it works.

00:30And so at the end of the day, I'm going to bet on the high upside pass rushers.

00:34And Shamar Stewart is a guy that even though he didn't, yeah, one and a half sacks,

00:38that's obviously not ideal, but he also led the team in pressures.

00:43So he's getting to the backfield and making the quarterback move his feet.

00:46It's just he needs to be a better finisher in the backfield.

00:49And then you watch him and you see how he's used.

00:51He's a four-eye defensive lineman.

00:54He's asked to play outside a little bit and contain the run.

00:59And he wasn't asked consistently to pin his ears back and get after the quarterback.

01:04So when you put all of that into context and then you watch him up close and personal,

01:08I was on the sidelines watching him get off the football at the senior bowl.

01:12And I've never seen a 6'4", 275-pounder have that type of burst.

01:16It's really something special.

01:18So I think I'd be more inclined to bet on a guy like that in the top 15, maybe compared to other people.

01:25But, you know, I certainly understand the reservations.

01:28You want to draft a pass rusher with more production.

01:31But NFL teams, they don't draft production.

01:34They draft traits.

01:35And Shamar Stewart certainly has that.

01:36Traits and potential.

01:39That's it.

01:39Exactly.

01:40Because like I was saying yesterday, we mentioned him that how has he played?

01:44You know, what was he expected to do?

01:46And if you find him and you put him and you let him pin his ears back, you never know.

01:49He may end up with 10.

01:50He may end up with 10.
