00:00still you got to hear this story from duran uh that he attempted to commit suicide in 2022 he

00:05said there'd be times he'd be sitting out there in the outfield and they'd be like you know yelling

00:09at him to go back to triple a and he'd be just uh he had really tough struggles in his life scotty

00:15i know he spoke today uh to the media and put a statement out his parents put a statement out but

00:20uh quite the story from duran up in beantown well i mean there's a couple things here one uh you

00:27feel horrible for the guy um that he was so desperate as a player in the organization that

00:36uh fans were giving him the business and he wanted to kill himself like that's scary stuff

00:44and it's awful now he has said that he's just um saying it to help one person which i've heard

00:53before if it just helps one person then it's made a difference fair enough but i think that

01:00at some level you know they do these documentaries and you open up and start talking about

01:07trying to kill yourself i think that uh putting out statements now to you know give me my privacy

01:15it's beyond that now it's too late like if you if you come out with uh i'm gonna kill myself i was

01:22gonna commit suicide you can expect it's only gonna grow like a weed from there right like the the

01:29questions and people talking about it and it's not gonna just go away and i do think that he

01:37more than likely did it for the right reasons to help someone else that's struggling but i also think

01:43it's hard to uh act like people are just gonna uh drop it and let it go you know what i mean like

01:51i think that frankly you opened up a can of worms right like uh that's why people are gonna start

01:59that's why i'm sitting here talking about it right now right like people are gonna talk about it it's

02:04scary stuff so uh you know i know they put out statements like and all this other stuff yeah good

02:12luck his yeah his statement said right you know it's a longer statement i'm just gonna pick it up

02:18from the middle here right now oh we got champions league going on the gunners the gunners uh getting

02:27involved so they're up one nil now i would guess on real madrid there yes at the emirates uh so nice

02:33job by arsenal getting going i i have the duran statement and just in the middle of it right now

02:39my focus is on the field we have a postseason to chase and that's where my head is i've shared what

02:43i needed to share and i appreciate everyone's understanding that my focus right now is on

02:47baseball and helping my team win a world series grateful the tremendous support support i've received
