Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Cusenbeth and today I'm out on the streets
00:03
of Manchester asking people about gaming and child safety. Now gaming can be a really great
00:08
way for people to be socialised. As kids it means spending a lot of time talking to new people,
00:13
experiencing different things, but there can be some safety issues whether it's grooming or
00:17
inappropriate language. So we want to know where people strike the balance between allowing kids
00:21
to game and keeping them safe online. I mean I think there should be sort of a limit. Obviously
00:28
too much screen time is obviously bad, but I think completely banning it isn't that positive
00:35
in the long run really. It's that kind of thing that if you were to limit it and stop kids from
00:39
playing on computer games, video games, social media, all of that sort of rhetoric moment,
00:45
I think they would just find ways to access it anyway. I think kids are a little bit more
00:49
sensible than we give them credit for. You know I have a little brother, he's 13, and I feel like
00:54
some of the stuff he says, I wouldn't be saying that at my age when I was 13.
